Familiar with geocaching? (You should be!) It's a recreational activity of hunting for and finding a hidden object by means of GPS coordinates. So... essentially, it's an easy way to get outside and see cool things in a brand new place or maybe even your hometown.

Geocache HQ is a fun visit for the most experienced geocacher, a newbie or even muggles. (Muggle is a friendly term for a non-geocacher). Pay attention to listed hours to catch a tour which includes some history of the game as well as plenty of time to meet fellow cachers from around the world, see memorabilia, log unique travel bugs and pick up exclusive swag. Definitely worth a trip!

Pro tip: Print a passport and spend a few hours completing the "Geocacher's Guide to the Center of Our Universe," a GeoTour created by Geocaching HQ employees. The caches are all within walking distance and feature hidden gems in Seattle's Fremont neighborhood. Happy caching!

If you are a geocacher you'll want to stop by. On the third floor. Friendly receptionist. They have a number of rate geocoins and travel bugs on display. You can find the HQ geocache, sign the log, take a picture in the photo booth, and then but it in the album. They have swag for purchase and they will validate your HQ GeoTour passport.

When you have a problem you can not get in touch with anyone. Everything is voice mail or email. They ask for $29.99 a year.... for WHAT?

It is a program that is really run by us.....the people putting the caches out and maintaining them, which is not HQ. So for the $29.99 you would at least expect someone to answer the phone. For this reason I would not recommend membership.

12/24/18 My review is based on a reviewer you have (GeoCrater) that is in my opinion way overzealous. I could not publish a geocache dedicated to the Tuskegee Airmen with the words "I support and love my country". How is this an agenda? It is an opinion. I will tell you one thing I spend money with this company and I enjoy the game, I truly do but if this continues with this particular reviewer I will stop spending my hard-earned money with this company. I am not a happy customer at this moment.
I have talked to fellow cachers in the area and they have had the same experiences with this reviewer and others.
Don't let a few rotten apples lose you business.

The worst service provider in the world. Communication? Doesn't take place here! You are faced with accomplished facts and basta. No answer to questions, no answer to criticism. If you complain about a reviewer, you will be particularly targeted, from then on you will be under observation and will be blocked for any banality.
A once beautiful hobby is destroyed by this dubious act!

The sanctuary of geocaching. I appreciate the kind staff. Thank you for bottled water, too.
There is a dream that I think that my cache may be displayed on a display where caches around the world are displayed randomly every 45 seconds.

Merchandise unique to HQ is available and they people working there are super nice and happy to help answer questions. There are also a ton of great caches in the area and they have a sheet listing all of them in the HQ tour!

Had the chance to visit HQ last month while on a trip with my dad to the area. Definitely worth the trip. We discovered everything there was to discover in the office, and picked up a few "HQ only" items while we were there. Loved this place.

I stopped geocahing some time back because of the dishonesty and unprofessional behavior of their administrators. A disagreement with their abusive reviewer geocrater, led to complaints to the administrators. They responded with lies and dismissed my complaints. Further research has shown similar cases involving this geocrater and his protectors at hq. As a business, geocachinghq is a joke and a scam.

Had a day left in Seattle, so I emailed the HQ if I could drop in. Had nice conversations with the very friendly staff. The lobby is like a small museum dedicated to Geocaching. Greetings to all Lackeys from Germany!

I loved the photo booth, the cool memorabilia, the computer that updated to the most recent cache worldwide, and of course the secret geocache hidden within the HQ. A great, quick stop in the middle of our Seattle tour.

My first time here. I will definitely come back with my gf. The place was great, I just wish I had time to read the cache description and find what I was looking for. When you come here, dont be rushed, and take your time. Explore the lobby. Have fun, thats what its all about.

What is Geocaching?

For those who are new to geocaching, it's essentially a treasure hunt game that involves using GPS coordinates and clues to find hidden containers called "caches." These caches can range in size from tiny pill bottles to large ammo cans, and they can be found in all sorts of locations – from urban parks and city streets to remote wilderness areas.

Geocachers use their smartphones or GPS devices to navigate their way towards the cache location. Once they arrive at the spot indicated by the coordinates, they must use their wits and problem-solving skills to locate the cache itself. Caches may be cleverly disguised or camouflaged, making them difficult but rewarding finds.

Why Choose Groundspeak?

While anyone can participate in geocaching on their own, joining a community like Groundspeak offers many benefits. For one thing, it provides access to thousands of caches that have been created by other members of the community. This means that there's always something new and exciting waiting for you wherever you go.

In addition, being part of a larger group allows you to connect with other like-minded individuals who share your passion for adventure and exploration. You can swap stories about your latest finds or collaborate on solving particularly tricky puzzles together.

But perhaps most importantly, Groundspeak provides resources that help ensure safe and responsible caching practices. They offer guidelines on how best to hide caches without damaging natural environments or causing harm; they also provide tips on how best not disturb wildlife habitats while searching for caches.

How Does It Work?

Getting started with Groundspeak is easy – simply download their free Official Geocaching app onto your smartphone (available on both iOS & Android). From there, create an account (also free) which will allow access into thousands upon thousands of different caches located all over the world!

Once logged into your account via app or website (www.geocache.com), search through available listings based upon location preferences such as zip code radius searches within 10-50 miles from where one currently resides!

Each listing will include information about difficulty level ratings ranging from beginner-friendly/easy-to-find up through expert-level challenges requiring advanced puzzle-solving skills!

From here users can choose which cache(s) they want attempt finding first based upon personal preference whether it’s size/type/location/difficulty rating etc., then head out into nature armed with nothing more than smartphone/GPS device & sense-of-adventure!
