Southern Hospitality at its finest!!! The food is amazing and thoughtfully prepared and presented. The environment of the restaurant is stylish yet welcoming and the staff is incredibly attentive and professional. Grace and Grit is officially my favorite seafood restaurant in Charleston!

Excellent food, drinks, atmosphere, and service. Alot of restaurants in Charleston are highly overrated, but these guys truly deserve 5 stars! We had the blackened Mahi and Swordfish. Seasoned and cooked to perfection. Everything on the plate was perfect. Dessert was to die for. Can't wait to come back!!

The restuarant is very well kept. The hosts and servers are attentive to the needs of every guest. The southern fried chicken biscuits were simply delicious. The jalapeno grits were also amazing and we used them as appetizer. The mamosa flight is a must for brunch. I will be back soon to this amazing restaurant.

Two foods that just never did it for me - coconut and grits. So why am I obsessed with their coconut cream grits? The food and staff here are equally amazing. Never a bad meal and so much food!

You should make a reservation if you want to eat here.
Service was good as well as the food. Steak and shrimp were well prepared. Nothing to complain about.
1 start got lost, because it was freaking cold. I really don't understand why an AC on full power is necessary if it's getting colder anyway.

This spot is amazing. We were blowing through on our way to a friends engagement and the staff jumped into gear as soon as we let them know what we were trying to do. They made the evening so special and helped us get caught back on schedule for the evening and even make it DELICIOUS. will be back through for a longer visit :)

Well, first of all the food was OFF THE CHAIN, as we Blk Folk say... But, as we entered casually dress and at ease ,we were greeted and welcomed at entrance very well. It was around 3:30 as the evening crowd started to swell. However Dining Room was still quite open, the Hostess guided us to an area to the rear of the main dining area to a adjoining smaller empty room , I quickly let her know ahh ahh, we want a table in the main Dining area ( Take 1). After being seated our waitress came to our table after about 13 mins.... Brought us our drinks and took order.. I noticed the other waitress was going over MENU AND SPECIALS with the other guest and Mgr and Chef were greeting and querying guest about their meals. I brought that to Renee's attention. She suggested leaving , I insisted staying . Mgr and Chef came around and engaged us.... I guess some Southern people haven't changed that much..... And to think we found this establishment on the Black eats website.....All in All it was bearable and the food was Great , Do go...... Just to be Nice I gave our out of touch waitress a $25 tip and drew lots of looks when we Drove of in that 2020 Lincoln Continental. Bye y'all, we heading back to TEXAS....

This was our favourite restaurant in Charleston...and yes we even went to the award winners down town.
I had fried chicken which was perfectly delicately coated. Served with red grits and collard greens. Divine.
Our server was friendly but unpretentious.
G and G became our benchmark restaurant and nothing else compatef.

To the owner and manager: if you turn back the time on the Charleston food scene, it will be obvious who has stood the test of time and who has joined the restaurant graveyard. No venue is to big to fail.

My wife and I preceded to be at Grace and Grit at 10am this morning, which is when they open. There was ample seating and only a very small group of people being sat. As we were being sat by the hostess, we were told there was a reservation at 11am and we had limited time to eat and go. Eat and go, huh? Our server reinforced this by saying that they are trying to get as many people in and out as possible and continued with his smile and gouge, smug attitude, for the rest of the time we were there. FOOD: it s nothing special, Pages Okra Grill in Shem Creek epitomizes a quality brunch experience in the Low Country, whereas Grace and Grit is your pretentious, overpriced, bad service, food is meh, restaurant. There are two things in life to avoid when dining out: Places with great views, and places that are new. For brunch, I would recommend elsewhere as I have never been encouraged that I have limited time to eat and leave.

Beautifully done very chic restaurant with excellent service from Kathy. We had an assortment of entrees including Chef's Creation, Frogmore salad and Fried Chicken. The 2 Chef's Creations were both delicious although pricey. Fried chicken was very good with a side of collards and grits but only one small piece of chicken. Frogmore salad had too few shrimp (which were sliced in half) and too many sausage slices which overpowered the flavor. This salad should have had a bigger serving of greens for $14. It has a neighborhood feel with a big city menu.

We just came to Charleston to visit and checked into our hotel sleep inn our front desk girl raved about this place that the grits were out of this world and that the seafood was really fresh of the day. we got here we didn t have to wait too long to get into the restaurant and was lucky enough to get the chef table overlooking the amazing staff cooking and prepping the food it is definitely an orchestra you could tell they got their system down pat everything looks very very fresh I got to try the tuna to tar and it was amazing. I ordered the special the tuna steak ordered it just the way they prepped with the cheesy grits I tell you these are the type of grits that you would want to have two eggs on top they were so good and my wife had the mahi-mahi we then we re persuade to take the desert and I had the coconut grits creams bur-lee and it was a really great twist and my wife had the blueberry cobbler you could tell that these are all made on site very well prepped and presentation. The attention was amazing we never ran out of water and the place is extremely clean modern. Free parking was nice also

We were so excited about trying this place with our family, along 2 other families. Unfortunately, we weren't even called back until 30 minutes after our reservation, to only learn that they were seating us in 2 opposite sections of the restaurant. When asked if they could push tables together (we hang out as a group on a regular basis), the manager snarkingly responded with "do you want me to put the tables on top of each other?". Needless to say, we left and went to Kiki and Rye (with our 6 hungry kids), where we know there is both great food and even better service.

Took a few minutes to be greeted once sitting down at our table. We weren t read the specials until 15 minutes of waiting for our server to return. Small portion of grits for $6. We were sat by the servers station/ kitchen door. Seemed as if a lot of employees were standing around chatting with one another. Didn t see our server for another 10-15 minutes after the food arrived. I sat with a pile of dirty dishes in front of me. Not one of the 4 servers standing 5 feet away thought about clearing the table. Good food but service could be touched up.

Enjoyed the Chef's Table for a wonderful cooking/dining experience. Food was good- loved the different grit choices! Steak was alright- a tad tough and overcooked, but I do love it medium rare, more on the rare side.. a high end restaurant, so would only go back for an event of some sort.

My wife and I went to Grace & Grit last night for a date night. It was our first ever visit. We called and made a reservation for the patio at 7:30. Taylor was very helpful on the phone and when we arrived. They took our temperature and we waited outside while they got our table cleaned. At the table, there was a contactless menu that you scanned a QR code with your phone. We ordered a grit flight for the table and the Bacon Creamed Corn Hushpuppies (see photos). The grit flight had Pimento Cheese (my favorite), Brussels Pesto, Sweet Potato and Blueberry (photo from top to bottom). For dinner, I ordered the Southern Fried Chicken with "Red Rice" Grits, Collard Greens and Hot Honey. I loved it and the flavors went so well together! My wife ordered the Local Shrimp N Grits and she was happy with her decision also. The food was exquisite and the service was top notch! Best service I've had in recent memory. Several people came by our table to make sure everything was great including chef/owner Frank Kline. We highly recommend you try this local restaurant in Mt. Pleasant and know that it is very safe to eat here during COVID.

Nice atmosphere. I felt the food was ok, others at the table really liked it. The shrimp and grits gravy was very salty and weirdly flavored. I would order this on the side, of this is your first time. The shrimp were nice and cooked beautifully. The cornbread was dry. I liked this restaurant but I feel like a restaurant in charleston should have killer cornbread and shrimp and grits. Forgive my nitpicking, this is a nice, new restaurant that should be given a try.

Went for restaurant week in Mt. Pleasant and the three course meal is very stunning. The fried oysters for the first course is especially good. Getting the sucotach for the main meal is brilliant and the chocolate cobbler is great to way you end the meal. Would recommend for anybody looking for a good seafood selection in the area.

We like grits, but this place takes them to a whole new level!! They were delicious and unique. We didn't even had an entree, just a flight of grits and an order of hush puppies and fried green tomatoes. Good service and a fun and unique idea (and don't forget, tasty!)

Second visit for us, both meals were absolutely perfect. Drinks were great as well. Great spot if you want a break from downtown, but still want something special. If you go before 6 you might not need a reservation on the weekend.

So my husband and I thought we'd try out this place. We called around 5 on Saturday to try and get a reservation, but the hostess answered the phone giggling and then informed me that they didn't have any available reservations, but they did take walk ins. She said the earlier the better and promptly hung up. Not the best first impression.

We ended up getting there around 7 and we're sat right away at the "chef's table" which is the community table looking into the kitchen. We usually sit at chef's table and live the experience.. although this is the first one we've ever sat at that doesn't send out a special chef's treat or something, but that was ok I suppose.

Our server was polite when she greeted us and informed us of some of the specials for appetizers and entrees. We decided to try the grit flight because obviously it's what people go there for and a crab dip special. As well as the grilled Caesar salad to start. The crab dip special was anything but that... it was a small cast iron filled with artificial lump crab meat and heated until warm and served with basic saltine crackers, definitely not worth the money- $16 or $17 I believe. The grits were great although in the picture it shows the peaches and cream being garnished with grilled peaches, the blueberry with blueberries, the pimento with green onion, and the Brussel pesto with something but there were no garnishes at all and it just felt pretty underwhelming because we watched them through the chef's window be scooped out of the warmers on the line and brought out with little to no effort or care. The grilled Caesar was fantastic.. No complaints about anything.

All of the entrees start at $25 and up.on the right side of the menu you can pick your protein and then the way it is prepared and presented from below. We planned to try some desserts so we only went with one entree.. which our waitress seemed slightly annoyed with when she took our order. We decided on the scallops, pan roasted presentation which was a $27 entree. It came with 5 scallops served over a sweet potato hash, topped with a citrus butter. When the food runner brought the food out, he provided an extra plate for sharing. Unfortunately, all of our silverware besides one fork had been bused with the appetizer plates. My husband still had his fork, but I had nothing. We expected the server to be by shortly to check on everything and so I could request utensils to eat with... but after 10 minutes it was clear we were not getting a check back and I wasn't getting any silverware. Which is fine, we shared his fork, but if we had gotten a check back, we would've sent the food back. The hash was charred on the outside, but the potatoes were still undercooked and hard. Although charred, the scallops and hash were not even hot enough to melt the citrus butter it was topped with. The dish was cold.

By the time the server came back by, my husband and I gave her the plate and requested the check. A $70 total and we were both still hungry but just too annoyed at the quality and the neglect of the server to bother complaining or to look at a dessert menu.

Honestly, just go to husk or edmunds oast restaurant. There are too many amazing places with great service in Charleston to waste money on mediocre food.

Such a let down, we were really looking forward to it being good.
