it's delicious!! We made a cow steak (rib eye portion), seafood risotto, a beer and a shangria cocktail, and the steak was smooth and tasty - the tomato risotto grabbed the flavor we felt for some time on the Western food

There is kangaroo meat, there is an egg-like thing, I regret it when I finish it, it s too sweet, I will eat seafood next time.
It was my first time dining here after being recommended by a friend, upon my return to Melbourne it definitely will be at the top of my list to dine at again. My eye fillet was cooked to perfection, just the way I ordered it (and I am very particular about my meat). All others at the table loved their meals including the kids. Kosta (hope i got the name right) was amazing with the kids and really made us feel at home. Thank you for an amazing Melb. experience!
The guy at the front was very enticing, his people skills and smooth talking has obviously been an asset to their successful business and "awards". I trusted him, believed he could stick to his word. Unfortunately only some promises were kept, partially our fault however because of how naive we were. Their "award winning" steaks were a 7/10 at best, not terrible yet not amazingly special. Be prepared to spend money here even if they give you a 15% discount.

I come here often, mostly for a quick bite and a drink or two to start of a good night out with friends. It's a lively place with good atmosphere. A clean modern interior and outdoor seating. The food is good as is the customer service. Bathroom is upstairs.
Seldom can I finish a meal at a restaurant and say That food was definitely worth the price .
The food here was great and staff were friendly and attentive. It s always a pleasure when your waiter can have a laugh with you. I had the T-bone steak and some pasta, one of the best restaurant meals I ve ever had. Will definitely be coming back here.

My partner and I made a reservation in the morning (same day) for this restaurant online. It was for our anniversary and we are on vacation from Canada and we had heard very good things about them. When we arrived for our reservation at 9pm, we were told they could not accommodate our reservation, citing that they did not receive the reservation (we showed them confirmation number and everything) and were not very apologetic at all. The manager offered us a discount at a later date, which does not help us at all as we will be leaving the country soon, but also, if they cannot honour a reservation I don t want to trust them on their word of a discount.

Arguably the worst restaurant in Melbourne.
Dined on 30/12/19. Was spruiked into the place and then there was confusion as to whether they could fit us in ( wish they hadn t!)
Ordered the crumbed olives to start ( unappetising dried up mess served on a bed of old dry inedible rocket). As awful as they were, I m glad we ordered them as we had to wait another HOUR before our meals arrived. We watched as tables who were seated well after us, received their meals and had half finished them before our Caesar salad and fish special of the day arrived. They had clearly forgotten our order.
The fish- barramundi was overcooked and tough. A bit stiff for $38.50! The salad was very ordinary and the usual croutons were 2 slices of dried up inedible toast.
During my hour wait I decided to visit the toilet- almost a more nauseating experience than the food. The ladies had one toilet out of action and the other had seen too much of the same as it was splattered with excrement and had a cracked seat.
The table next to us ordered steaks and had finished them by the time their salad and veggies arrived and that was only after chasing them up.
The minute we d finished we left- no apology from the staff or management for the ridiculously long wait for terrible food.
This place obviously exists only from walk by traffic.
Boring, pedestrian, poor quality food and appalling service.

Outstanding pasta dishes! The chicken involtini is magnificent. The seafood risotto, good. One of the waiters tries in particular very hard to provide good service, which is nice. There are some great choices on the menu and prices are resonable. I would recommend this place for a nice evening meal.
Skip the deserts and order some extra mains to share. The deserts are not good at all...
Tip: MAKE SURE to specify how you would like your red meat to be cooked. Otherwise it will be served very rare. ALSO check the bill as we were charged incorrectly recently. I strongly suggest you take my advice and order the main course dishes!
We came here for valentines day. It was very busy and they managed to find us a table. They gave us a rose and free drink on arrival. The steak was great. Nicely cooked. The chicken was not equally as good. I guess we expected it to be a little better.
We also had the meat balls as an entree which was just fantastic. Waiters did an awesome job in such a busy night. Will come again
Not happy at all , The whole table ordered and everyone got there food and finished when i asked where my steak was. They didnt even take the order in the first place . So I walked out hungry. Won't be back. And to top it off i asked if we could get the left over pasta that my wife didnt finish to go (take away). He returned with nothing and threw it out.

I have tried Tibbon and Kangaroo steak. It was very delicious. I eat it outdoors and I have to take a little hot and twisted flies ~ ~
The place is pleasant to have a light brunch and it has a pretty good atmosphere in the restaurant. The servings are decent in size and price wise it's pretty good as well. The staff inside is a bit slow in attending to customers even though it was not crowded. The staff member outside was a bit pushy in trying to get people in with promises of free coffee etc though they didnt end up delivering. There is a bit of miscommunication there but other than that, it was quite pleasant. The food we ordered was delicious and won't mind having again.

Go here for the steak. The oysters were suspicious and tasted like they were previously frozen. The menu doesn't say where they come from, are they coffin bay, rock oysters? Etc. also, it's not a very intimate restaurant. Lots of hard surfaces and not romantic at all. I booked ahead an asked for a nice romantic table. They put us near the front door that's open and it's a cold day. Tourist trap as they have a sales person out front trying to sell to you when you walk up and are trying to explain you already have a booking. Also, it's really jarring audibly because there is a nice band outside but they have top 40 from 2012 playing over the inside speakers...
Absolutely loved the pork ribs, the meat just fell off the bone the chips and salad were both acceptable

FALSE ADVERTISING!!! Enticed to a seat with "free first drink" but if you accept that then all others are full price.
Also mixed up order: start garlic bread then TOGETHER appetizer & main (2 people).
Delivered main (said where is starter?). Next starter & appetizer delivered together!!! Ate garlic bread then partner had COLD scallops while I was waiting for my main. Lost a potential return customer.
Salmon and mashed, salmon was wonderful, mashed stone cold. Could not get a servers attention although they were at less than 20% capacity. Servers were more interested in bring in the next customer than those they had before them, that and joking between themselves. Felt like a tourist trap more than an established restaurant. Chef said it was my fault I waited too long to bring this to their attention, strike two, and that message took over 10 minutes to be brought back. I'll keep looking for a great place on Hardware Lane, this is clearly not one of the despite the location.
I was so impressed with the Google rating, but I did not make the wrong order. I did not like medium welldens, but I got enough meat. I plattered it, but I was disappointed because the steak was poor.
I ate kangaroo steak, but this is excellent! Also, a clerk named Noel was very kind.

Hands down the WORST seafood platter in my life definitely not worth $110.00!
Calamari rings were not even a room temperature, and so dry, which were sliced in thinner thickness than burger kings' onion rings.
Kilpatrick oysters were not up to standard, which made me wonder if there was any Worcestershire sauce in there, because they tasted weirdly sweet ( how you cant get this right).
Prawns weren't deveined we were chewing through grainy mushy unclean taste of otherwise could have been a nicer meat. When I gave a constructive criticism at the payment desk, he replied me back "all the Melbourne restaurants serve prawn not deveined".
Two nice things about the platter though, were mussels and salad. Mussels were good with a hint of chilli in a tomato sauce.

We all develops gastroenteritis and vomiting following the meal there. The service is also poor. Nothing special about the food either. The fish is dry and does not seem fresh. The meat balls taste horrible, and the chicken is too chunky and not refined. Save yourself the trouble, don't bother to eat there.

We had a Family lunch on a Saturday. We orded a range of foods. We found the food quite bland, lacking flavour.
Service was good and staff were accomadating.
Just can't reccomend untill they work out the cooking side of things.

The pasta is made here and fresh. The wine is reasonably priced with quite a nice selection, e.g. three cabs by the glass. What really makes this Excel is that it opens so half the seating is outdoors. It is close to the busking station, maybe five meters from my table, which is high quality, so there is open air live music but you can still have a conversation.
Worse service in Melbourne, waiter never smile and impatient, they don't do anything just bad attitude. I hate eat with bad mood, and they just rude and ruining the meal.
And the food is so so soso. Can't be more so so.

They work so hard to get you through the door then the hard work definitely stops. Free bruschetta is actually sliced tomato with one basil leaf a smear of mozzarella and a drizzle of balsamic reduction. Main came out pork belly was cold, skin was chewy no crackle at all, seafood paella had a mushy crab on top with cold mussels. What's worse is the service you receive after you politely complain. No way would I ever recommend this restaurant!!!
Found Grill Steak Seafood walking through Hardware Lane, no reservation but was greeted by friendly staff and decided to try the menu. We were not disappointed! The food was amazing, myself personally order the Seafood Risotto and i have to say hands down best meal i have had in a long time. Great service and price was fantastic.
Good service to begin with, but from the time we arrived, and ordered, our meals arrived an hour later, our meals were cold and overall really disappointing, overpriced for what we ate, and then when we went to the counter to pay, the waiter asked if we would like to tip. Overall disappointed with having to pay for food that was bland cold and pretty much ordinary. Not a good experience.
