It was an unforgettable day with a large part of my family! !
I liked seeing so many animals of different types of ways of living, like these animals in the photo but especially seeing with the tenderness that that mother hugged her baby, but I think there are places inside the zoo that should be cleaner and cleaner. , It is not very pleasant to visit an animal and that the place stinks.

L.A. Zoo is a lovely visit. In the middle of Griffith Park, it very much has a park feel inside. Wandering around, you feel so far away from the city, even though it's right outside of the park. Great if you have kids, just be aware that it is hilly. People with walking issues might want to rent a scooter or take advantage of the zoo tram ($5 adults, $2.50 kids, $2.00 seniors and those with a disability, kids under 2 are free). During the pandemic, you have to make a reservation ahead online so to limit the attendance. Some attractions are closed, but most are open and just socially distance compliant. If you need a day away from the hustle and bustle of L.A., the Zoo is a nice, close and inexpensive escape.

Kinda depressing for the most part. Horrible staff, pathways were a bit dirty.

When I purchased my ticket (seperate from the other two people in my party), the window guy gave my ticket to the stranger after me and then looked at me like a moron when I came back to tell him he forgot to give me my ticket. He said "he has it", as if it's normal to give someone's ticket to literally anyone but them.

The animals were cool though. But let's be honest, that's like judging a movie theatre on the quality of the movies.

I am a zoo lover, but was disappointed in the quality of this zoo. It wasn't expensive for entry, so I don't regret going, but I expected more from the City of Los Angeles.

First of all, bring cash! Many of the snack stands and vending machines don't have card readers, so if you don't have cash you might be going thirsty until you find one that takes cards and wait in the line.

The map was next to useless, and to my knowledge there is no app, which surprised me. The map was not up to date, so certain exhibits had moved since it was created, and there was no key. Only the main exhibits are represented on the map, but if you're standing by a less popular exhibit, it probably isn't on the map, therefore you can't tell where you are or navigate to where you want to go. This coupled with the lack of signs and numerous different paths at any given moment you can take made for a few missed exhibits and a lot of frustration.

The shows were also disappointing. At other zoos the shows are excellent and there are a hand full to choose from. They did have a few discussion times with zookeepers, which was nice, but ultimately I think more scheduled programming would be good for this zoo.

Ultimately, I recommend skipping this zoo and spending your time in LA in another way.

There is nothing better than an afternoon at the zoo. The entire park is built around the elephant exhibits which are amazing to see up close. My personal favorite was the gorilla exhibits along with the black bear. The interesting part of the black bear enclosure is the depth of the pit relative to the animals jumping ability. I think if it really wanted to the black bear could escape.

This zoo is one of my happy places to be with my family. We avoid it anytime the weather is supposed to be over 70 or so, but during the cool weather it is so relaxing and refreshing to see all of the beautiful animals.

Went with the wife to LA Zoo lights. It was nice to walk around enjoy the scenery and check out the zoo at night. Not to expensive and they serve beer and hot coco with baileys if you up for that.

I'm so happy. Today we visited Los Angeles light ( A Wild Wonderland of light ) . There was amazing light show. My son is happy.
Glowing animals welcome you on an unforgettable nighttime journey that includes giant illuminated snowflakes, a disco ball forest, a whimsical herd of animated elephants, and a twinkling tunnel filled with dynamic swirls of color. L.A. Zoo Lights is a not-to-be-missed nighttime holiday light experience and has glowed brighter each year since its debut in 2014.

Our children love zoos, so every place that we travel we try to go to a zoo. We've been to so many zoos in the country but the LA Zoo was by far the worst we have ever been to. Our child was so excited to see the elephants that's pictures were plastered all over the fliers. We went to the Elephant exhibit 3 times and never saw a single one they were locked behind three different cages and were so far back you couldn't see them. We saw twice as many vendors as animals, except of course the bees that were everywhere!!! There was very little shade. Do not waste your money, drive to San Diego instead.

Great little zoo. Decent price for what you get. San Diego zoo is DEFINITELY on the top of others, and this one shows. Looks like this specific zoo has dead spots and areas where people don't walk to. Confusing areas and directions, but it's probably meant to get lost in here, good set up but a little more direction can really help people walk around the zoo a little better.

It's an ok zoo. It's not too small & not too large. Nothing really special about this zoo but with kids it is always a worth while trip. Just be careful of the million yellow jackets around. During the Christmas time you have to check out the LA Zoo Lights. Now that is worth going with your kids.

Above all else, this zoo provides value. Our family loves to visit different zoos because it gives us something to do as a family, we get out of the house and we get to see animals with the kids. The Los Angeles Zoo isn't the most polished zoo you'll find, but offers value unlike we've seen anywhere else. tickets are fairly priced, the real treat was seeing the fair priced food and drink. $6 nachos, $6 beers, $8 burgers and plenty of other treats that you don't feel upset buying because of the markup. Best of all, the food quality is way above what we have had elsewhere. This in itself, made the trip fun and a little easier on us parents knowing we weren't blowing money on low-quality, high-priced food. Although he value is there, the zoo itself, left much to be desired. The grounds are clean and staff was friendly, but the layout is he worst we've seen in a zoo. So many little roads that get you turned around. There are all kinds of issues where you get lost trying to see all the exhibits because there are paths that lead to nowhere or multiple ways to the same location. We would love to see an easier flow pattern built into the zoo's layout as it caused us to pull out the map way more than we should have. Layout aside, the animal exhibits just aren't that impressive. My kid loves seeing animals, but due to the amount of time in between seeing exhibits and the quality of the exhibits, she spent half the time on her tablet. The zoo does have an awesome playground for the kids. All in all, it was fun and we walked away not feeling ripped off. I'm sure we would go back sooner or later, but if we do decide to go to the zoo, we will likely just plan a bigger trip to the San Diego Zoo.

My job has a contract with the LA zoo so I visited it for the first time and really liked it. It is not as big as the SanDiego zoo but they do have plenty of animals and walking around is a breeze. I highly recommend especially for young children.

Zoo lights for the holidays! The Zoo lights event, held each year between November and January, are a perfect family event. Beautiful holiday lights, music, and nothing but happy people of all ages. We use a wheelchair for Mom, and the staff is very helpful with that, too. Go, it is wonderful!

And during the day, the LA Zoo is great. Lots of enrichment for the animals, nice natural looking spaces, and a very nice botanical garden as well. Very well priced for family fun, I'd advise a weekday morning trip, as our zoo is very popular with local families, who tend to go on weekends.

What a great place to spend the day! So many animals to see. There are a lot of really interesting presentations. I love the petting zoo, such sweet animals. Their events are always phenomenal.

Great zoo, so many children. There is also a lot of space for animals. There are also many volunteers who promote environmental protection and animal care. You can touch the lamb, groom it...it is tiring to stroll around. Have a great time.

Everything was good till we went to purchase out pictures. The gentleman helping us was nice.
Great customer service skills and professional. We joked around about filters and photoshop,
Well I joked with my sister about having the Snapchat filters and the girl next to the gentleman helping us. Started making rude comments saying sounds like a personal problem . Can t have it your way
The service from her was bad. The pictures that are in display were in the floor I picked up and tried handing it to them but they looked at us like we were just bugging.
I love the zoo. But the staff is horrible.
