Love it, lots of walking. They need some sitting areas to rest from all that walking
Love it, lots of walking. They need some sitting areas to rest from all that walking
Most of the animals were sleeping so for that I think that's kind of expensive
Lots of shade, beautifully landscaped, lots of cute animals to see. The food is very reasonably priced. We went during October so they had trick or treating stands all throughout the zoo. We had a very enjoyable visit.
Free Parking!! There are not a lot of sea animals here, no bears either. Still affordable and a lot of fun for the kids
Very nice experience to share with family with children
A must for tourists and for locals as well . Especial during their zoo lights festival
It's a little bit sad because when they close they put the animals inside a case they should let them be free.
My kids love coming here and they have a very affordable family year pass..
I visit this place when ever I can, is great for the kids. Great with animals. I love everything every time I visit there is something new. It's a really good way to exercise because it's huge and you take a big long walk looking at beautiful animals.
Somo of the animals I saw first time in my life! It was cool.
Love the zoo. Membership is a great deal. Come early to get parking. Animals start being put away at 4.
Nice place to spend the day and help animals and exercise
It looked really sad. I wanted to leave as soon as I arrived.
The animals are amazing. Pricing for drinks is not as bad as expected. Only a few of the exhibits were closed due to renovations, so we were able to enjoy almost all the animals.
Great place to take the kids just try 2 avid going when it's hot out cuz it gets really hot in there
Great place to take the kids and get them tired, plus get the tickets online save the hassle of the lines
Great, BIG zoo with lots of incredible animals to see! Seriously, this zoo is huge so be prepared to walk a lot (and up hill too). There's a carousel for people to ride, a giraffe feeding that occurs daily and tons and tons of informational talks about individual animals happen around the hour until about 12:30. Lots if places to eat, very expensive so if you're being budget conscience, it's best to pack a backpack of snacks, juices and drinks (yes, they allow this-i highly doubt they allow coolers so check their website or call). Parking is free unless a special event or holiday is happening then prices vary between $10-$20.
We enjoyed the beautiful decoration with lights, it was a beautiful experience.
We will wait for the next exhibition;)
Very beautiful place, so much interesting animals for observing
Haven't been since remodel. Actually great make over and kinda reminds me of a replica of the San Diego zoo. Good shade through out most of park. Minus one star for $7 12oz cans of beer.
Very well kept and clean for the animals and guests
This is a great place for the family to enjoy and learn about the animals that still a live in our world.
Did the LA Zoo lights. Was a different look on Christmas light display after dark evening while the animals are sleeping.
I had a great time with my family.
The best place to take your kids.
Blessings. Very. Nice. And confortable. Beautiful. Place
So many animals at this zoo! A lot going on with presentations and shows. We had to get a season pass to make sure we can enjoy all that the La Zoo has to offer. We didnt know you can bring your own food which is our plan for our next trip.
Sadly had to walk from one end back to the entrance for the first aid station. No one seemed interested in helping my grandson. Cut his little hand not bad just needed a band aid. Sour taste usually means no return. You're bad not mine.
The City of Los Angeles owns the Zoo, its land and facilities, and the animals. Animal care, grounds maintenance, construction, education, public information, and administrative staff are City employees.
staff are friendly! welcoming you as soon as you walk in.
Roaring Zoo Nights was a great experience! Great food trucks and awesome music from the bands and DJs!
It was awesome my and my 10 month old son first time
I was shocked to learn that the elephants' areas have electrified vegetation so that it stays looking pretty but the elephants will get shocked if they do their usual elephant behaviors, such as rubbing against trees and foraging. They also have about 3 acres to roam for their entire lives whereas in the wild, elephants roam over 50 acres a day. Please don't support zoos that imprison animals.
I really like our local zoo. Our little one loves the giraffes.
Such a great Zoo! Always clean and has very helpful volunteers and staff to talk about the animals with.
It's been a bit since I've been to the L.A Zoo, exhibits and habitat's have been upgraded beautifully. Fun way to spend a few hours.
Went today with a group of 9. We had a wonderful time. It was 96 degrees out, but we avoided the afternoon heat by arriving early. We enjoyed a breezy morning stroll. Get your workout in!
Not a big fan of zoo but my little girl had a blast here
Lovely children's petting zone. Staff are friendly and approachable.
Wonderful with all these animals that are not normally found at a zoo. Highly recommended if you are in LA
Great park extremely well kept with super friendly and knowledgeable staff.
The animal's so amazing and the sight are wonderful.
I love the L.A. zoo, it's a dear place to our family. Animals come first and are treated well. The zoo is primarily focused on the well being of its residents, and visitors then get worked in to the equation. And they do a fabulous job of making your visit memorable. Feeding time is always a joy, and any time the keepers interact with the animals. Giant, ferocious beasts become tame house pets when they are around. There is a loving connection that you can see and it's magical.
So why 4 stars? Everything is so expensive. But this is my review and that's one thing that's important to me.
Went to the zoo for the first time, since I was little, on a Saturday wasnt to busy. Preferred parking is 10 now not 6
Great place to bring your children to see the animals!
Friendly staff, fun walks, nice views, cute animals and great food!
We had a fun afternoon at the Los Angeles Zoo! It is a VERY large zoo so plan on spending most of your day there and be sure to bring a stroller if you have little ones. We went on Memorial Day so it was pretty busy. The best area (in our opinion) was the children s petting zoo. Our toddler loved it! We only wish we could have seen more of the animals, many of them were hiding away in the shade because of the heat.
loving this place. Great sunny day at the end of Jan...just walking around checking out all the animals and eating some great food
Great fun for all ages. Wide variety of animals spread throughout the park. They serve beer for the parents. Lol. Got to love LA.
I was very dissatisfied I thought it was going to be more walking room but seems that at one point we we're just walking in circles. No Christmas carol nothing to say wow.. I would guess that the little ones 7 and under would love it but any older and they will be very bored. I really wanted this to jump me into the holiday spirit but I was very wrong. I really want to say something better but I have to be truthful sorry. Just always remember that you get what you pay for
Beautiful Animals,Gorgeous Botanicals,Churros,Beer,Kettle Corn... Need I say more?
Love it!! Great summer fun for kids and a work out for me. Family members pass pay off by the 2nd visit. Take a collapsible wagon if you have little ones under 4 or get the tram pass but you will need patience
I had a really good time at the zoo, i loved see the animals and the food there was great, and the scenery was great for taking pictures. Overall my experience was really great and i loved it and will for sure come again
We did a personal cart tour, it was better than expected. Really felt more knowledgeable about all of the animals and their caretakers, we look forwars to returning many times...with a picnic lunch because the food sucks. The best part is that it exhausts the little ones. Score for mom!
Though crowded on Easter this was fun with my hubby n I with Daughter n 2 grandsons. Loved all the animals. If you haven't seen bird show in years...do so for sure-- Incredible!
I like that they are well cared for and you can see that the people who work with them are very professional!
Fun time! On Labor Day, there were more people than animals. Some exhibits were empty.
Not able to see the elephants which was not one of the animals listed as unavailable. The male gorillas were no where in sight. Maybe there could be signs of the type of animal in more than one place. But over all not bad for the cost of a ticket.
I went for the LA Lights event and it was so much fun. The lights were so pretty and although we couldn't look at all the animals, the ones we did see were super cute and awesome. The churros were really good too
It is worth what you pay, it is a very fun and family step
It's great that they're open again. Saw the baby gorilla and the jaguar was out and about not sleeping in the corner.
Enjoyed my day for walking. The poor animals looked sad. Over priced food. Better to bring lunch.
