I don't think these reviews saying customer service is poor are accurate. They have always been very nice to deal with. However, the GHPUD is not a working cooperative as they say, they are very aware they are the only game in town and as such are very pricey. I don't dislike any of them, only the lack of being accountable to the high cost of their product to consumers.

A case in point is the cost to install the wire to supply a 200 amp service for a home. The actual cost a private contractor would do it for, and the PUD cost are very different. The PUD labor costs are astronomical compared to the real world, and you cannot get another bid. I feel if I am going to subscribe to their service for many years, the very LEAST they could do is be accommodating in the installation cost, or give the option to have competition as to who installs the service.

I would like to give a shout out to the technician...

I would like to give a shout out to the technicians that restore our power when it goes out. My husband and I are new to the area and our power has gone out three times (in 2 1/2 years). I don t think we were ever out of power longer than 3 hours. I also want to thank whoever keeps the message line updated.

Thee worst customer service. Saddens me that they are unwilling to go any distance of resolving issues, yet they are first to increase charges and not handle their own business to guarantee customer satisfaction. They don t care, cause everyone will pay.

$40 per month ready to use fee, charged even if you don't use 1 watt of power ? What a racket and ripoff, what about those camping lots in Ocean Shores, only allowed to use for 90 days but have to pay over $500 per year in case you actually decide to click on a light bulb ? Really ? What a monopoly causing people to go broke, not like you can pick a different power company . The public needs to fight back, completely out of line, should be illegal.

Locked a blind man into a fence , the disrespect they have for the man they do not agree with. They didn t even call the police or anything so to tell how long they would ve left him there is impossible. Mark should be fired. This whole company needs to have a Human Resources training.

I am very pleased with service I get when I go in with account questions. The staff are knowledgeable and always friendly! I am not sure why people think that other cities have more then one choice for there power companies, guess they have never lived anywhere else. You guys are doing a wonderful job keep it up!

GREAT experience....We have had to deal with the several employees from different departments withing the PUD on 5 separate occasions in the last 2 months and they have all been nothing but pleasant and helpful.

Disgusting employees and management. The creepy dude named Richard who claims to be on council should be fired as well as the guy he is trying to protect. Locking disabled people in cages is sick. Having a corporate mentality that tries to cover it up and shame the victim like Richard does is even worse. Hope all involved face criminal charges for what they did and continue to do.

While we're busy worrying about which party should run for the election and where our money is going we don't even care that 40% of our electric bill is in fees 40% they have a privilege tax state tax Aberdeen tax which is $10 they have a privilege tax of $6 privilege like it's a privilege to have electricity they are extremely rude to you on the phone their job is to turn the power off as fast as possible people we need to watch these guys houses are burning down because of these people all over Aberdeen because of these people disconnecting power

So I had no previous debt with grey Harbor but yet they wanted a $750 deposit that was not refundable for 6 months. Only because previous renters didn't pay their bills was their excuse.
it should be illegal for them to operate their company with other people's money interest-free.
I wish I could give them a hundred negative stars. This company needs to be internally investigated. Corrupt corrupt corrupt

A PUD employee woman came to unplug my power. I understand if she has to turn the power off, but there was no need to laugh in my face when I was pleading for more time. You have to be quite the cold hearted witch to have that happen.

We have been customers for 20 years and while we have had no direct issues with PUD indirectly we have been unhappy with PUD as a whole for a very long time. Granted they do very well with maintaining outages, what we do disagree with is the greatly bloated cost of getting power through PUD.

They are only a service provider since they do not create any power themselves and only maintain their grid, yet they have managed to inflate our bills with their failed and corrupt business deals, complete incompetence in bargaining ability, and their serverly bloated paychecks that are sucking up the revenue.

From the front desk clerk to the very top they are all insanely overpaid especially in the given demographic.

The commissioners satisfy their own personal interests with things they pass in vote.

I know personally several PUD workers and they all admittedly and even gloat about the massive salaries they make.

All of this is done in the name of publicly owned and controlled entity, yeah right. Anything presented to the so called commissioners fall on def ears. This is a monarchy.

Shanna (and I hope I am spelling her name correctly) was cheerful as well as helpful! Had to give my first encounter a 5 .

They are a foul company their employees seem to be trained to be cold and disgusting. They take advantage of the fact there your only option for power. It's redicolous what they charge and then there added fees. Horrible horrible company makes it not worth living on the harbor.

As a Marine and a Veteran I am totally disgusted by the employees here. Four of your employees locked a blind veteran in your yard. And you want to hide who they are so the veteran can't file charges against them. All you're doing is prolonging the court date. The veteran will find out who these people are with or without your help. I will be contacting the ADA myself to find out how many people can be fired.

Worst Power Company I've ever seen. PUD sends someone out to your house if you're 2 weeks late and bills you $35 for them talking to you. Doesn't call you if you forgot to make a payment. Company is trying to find ways to make more money. I also heard they made some bad deals in the past and are going broke and they over pay their staff. I get no love from this company.

We moved here and our 1 st bill was 859.00, no joke. We had the pud come out and check stuff and they said it was our problem. Animal had ripped open duct work and thats why it was so high. I went to make payment arrangements and the women said NO. I am horrified with this eletric company. They are very cold and uncaring, rude people.

Amazing behavior in the treatment of Americans with disabilities. Signage is unlawful and posted signs outside are not ADA compliant. While employees may not be familiar with laws or care about civil rights it would be better to stay in you lane instead of repeat lies.

They are the only choice for electricity in the harbor. They act like it too, over $300 a month for power. I live in a 1,300 sqft home and live modestly. Notice any comments from the company even pretending to care? Nope.

My wife was a little leary to call, given the poor reviews. So far, she has made 2 phone calls to Grays Harbor PUD and both times when she hung up the phone she has said, "These people were so friendly! I feel like Crystal and I would be good friends!" We've yet to go to the office in person, as we are moving there on Friday, but if Crystal is any indicator of the people of Aberdeen, we're going to love it there!! Thank you for the warm welcome. Also, as a side note, the garbage service people were great too!

They don't give you a way to report broken lines. The line wasn't completely broken off. Just one of the two connectors so I wasn't sure how to tell them without saying there was an outage.

I have lived here over three years so far. Today I had the most helpful nice guys show up to make sure my power issues did not stem from the main. They went out of their way to check everything ontheir side and even our breaker box inside.thank you for being good human beings.

To all citizens, I would like to say that many of us public servants DO NOT support this type of behavior, but after watching video after video. I m starting not to believe it. Wow, your employees are awful! They locked a visually impaired/legally blind man inside a fenced in area and left him there until he called out to a passerby for assistance. They very clearly knew he was there. They didn't bother saying oh hey, we locked the gate, let us show you how to get out.

Some of your reviews are talking about the cost of your services. If the visually impaired man decides to sue you, I guess they'll be even more unhappy because the cost of your services will have to go up to cover whatever you have to pay out to him.

I walked in to pay one of my bills. It seems I was short about 50 cents on one payment. I offered to cross the street to an ATM to withdraw the rest however they declined and insisted on locking me in their car park. I found this rather strange but after reading their Google Reviews it seems to be standard procedure.
