Due to my love for Barnstormer Wind-Shear Watermelon Summer Ale 2.0, I dared to try Granville Island Brewing's attempt at the same. They called this batch Watermelon Lager, but I think that whoever approved the name had must have only ever tasted the vine of a watermelon, because when I drank their beer I tasted no watermelon at all.

I had a great time here. Solid beers. My favorite was the winter lager. I recommend getting the flight. Well worth the price. Expect a 20min wait to get seated. You can t order beer unless you get seated.
Stopped here again on our road trip out west. Still my favourite beer, and the same great experience as last time. Will definitely be back next time I'm in BC. Just wish we could get all of their beers here in Ontario.
Great place to stop for a beer during your visit to Grandville Island, they made all their beer and you can try all of then if you take a "fly" for only $7.5 you can try 4 diferents flavors on 5oz glasses format each one. Rasberry and Summer edition where my 2 favorites I have to say, not strong and very refreshing. So, I'm absolutely recommend this place :)
There are really a lot of choices for local craft beer here. With Cheese Plate, you can stay here for 1-2 hours. Come with friends or yourself, it is a pleasant experience. The waiter will introduce you to different flavors, and there are readable cardboard to compare the flavor of the beer you are drinking. On the one hand, you can enhance the impression of different craft beer, and on the other hand, you can learn how to taste.
They have so many beers here... the only disappointing part is that I only enjoy their winter ale even though I tried so many. But if you come here for beers, you should definitely get their honey garlic wings. I highly recommend them as they are finger licking good.
Very nice brewery. Can see where they make their small batch beers, have tours at brewery and have a nice gift shop attached. Great location on Granville Island. Decent beer.
We carry a couple of GIB's beer at the pub I manage back home in Manitoba. I had tried both the English Bay Pale Ale and the Maple Shack Cream Ale. Loved both of them. Knew I had to hit up the brewery when I was in Vancouver to try the rest of their selection. I came on a Wednesday afternoon, place was full, but they found a seat for me at the bar, which was perfect. I got a flight containing one of their seasonal taps ( a porter ), The Honey Lager, Hefeweizen, and capped it off with my favourite, Maple Shack. All beers were great! The porter was super tasty, hints of mocha which was delicious. The Hefeweizen was refreshing and would be perfect on a summers day. Honey lager a bit sweeter than I prefer, but still great and refreshing. And as always the maple shack did not disappoint. Even better on tap! I finished it all off with a sleeve of English Bay Pale Ale. Once again great! Light, crisp and refreshing. The girl serving the bar was super friendly, and quick to pour the beers. Would have loved to try more of the beers. Would come back to Vancouver just to get a hold of more of their beer! Cheers!
The best beers I have tasted in Canada. I loved that you can taste different types of beers with different flavours for a cheap price. The food was also reasonable. Our server was very kind and had a gave us excellent customer service even though it was very crowded when we went. I will surely visit this place again when I visit Vancouver.
Excellent customer service. They honoured their mistake with a delivery order, so they corrected their error on the next business day and threw in some free swag as an apology - delivered to Langley to boot! Thanks GIB :)
Did the sampling of all the beer option. Couldn't find a single one I liked. All of the beer tasted like someone poured water in it. Even the porter and IPAs tasted weak. Service was good and staff was friendly. Also ordered the poutine with pork which was good.
The beer is decent, the food is okay. I'm giving this place a 2 star because there was no soap or paper towels or hand dryer available to use after eating sticky wings. I requested for the soap/ paper towels to be refilled and after 20min, still nothing.
Beer was great and we even got extra tortilla chips for the remaining dip sauce. We liked honey lager and english bay pale ale the most. But the rest of the beer was also fresh and tasty.
Good beer but server did not bring change or asked if we needed it. 25$ on a 17.25$ tab.... He ignored us after we paid for a while. Very poor server etiquette... We were planning to leave 4$ anyways. tough on my principles. Tuesday May 7th 6pm. Wish I had the guy servers name
Beer is fine, but a tad boring. Food is also fine, but comes in snack-size portions and is a bit heavy on the salt. I won't hesitate to come back if I'm close by, but I definitely wouldn't go out of my way for it.
Great beer, great food. Loved the Hefe and the raspberry ale. Also, we are from the states so this Poutine thing is new to us, but we've had a few throughout Vancouver and we enjoyed the Poutine here the most. Get the pulled pork on top!
Definitely one if the best restaurants to eat seafood. It is fresh and tastes great! The view is also great! However it is a bit over priced and usually crowded.
Great service. We came in right at last call just to wait for a few friends that were already there to finish their beers. The server offered us a beer while we waited and gave us time to finish it.
Went here back in March and it was great. Pretty busy so we had to share a table with another group of people but they were really nice and we had a great time. I can t remember which beer I got but it was in a can and it was pretty good (my friends are the beer drinkers, not so much me). Positive experience overall though!
Really solid beers, nice rotating taps too. The summer and raspberry ales were gen highlights for me. Left off a star because the food was ok but left a little to be desired. The service staff was spectacular and took great care of everyone.
Very interesting and lovely selection of beers. Their fried is pretty normal but their shiracha aioli is amazing. would definitely go back again to try more beers and have a nice chill time with friends. Great ambience, service was okay.
Terrible customer service. I ordered beer for home delivery 11 days ago. It hasn't arrived. They never answer their phone, voicemail messages, or email.
Was a little bit of a wait to get in but was well worth it once we got there.
Sat at the bar and was served by the awesome Sean. Super fast service, the poutine was amazing, and the beers are what you would expect.
Warning: kitchen closes at 7pm, so if you're itching for some amazing poutine, be better prepared than I was :) Beer keeps flowing until closing though.
Amazing meal and all around great experience. Would definitely recommend.
Really cool place with good atmosphere, good info about the beers they make and the staff are switched on and proactive. We had a slight issue where our bill was meant to be $18 and we got charged $43 and the server skipped past the payment confirmation page so we couldn t see how much we were paying which almost felt intentional.. besides that it s good fun.
We came here for a change after walking at the Public market. It was super busy on the Sunday afternoon/night. We had to wait for 15m to have a seat. We ordered the full house to have the full experience for the beer. In general, the beers were decent, nothing special. Their IPAs were good. We also ordered some food for snacking. The BBQ pork rib burger: the bun was very dry, the filling was good though. I liked they added the cabbage in the burger, tasted fresh and crunchy BBQ pork ribs: very tender, the sauce was really good, however the meat itself was bland without the sauce. Poutine: very good cheese curbs and delicious gravy. Cheese sandwich: a good decent one.
