Good company
I don't understand why there are so many bad reviews
For me personally this company is great have not had any problems at all
Money always taken from my bank account on time I have changed cars on my policy several times with no problems new payment agreement was sent straight away.

So after us paying our premiums off for the year we have still been having direct debits of 207 a month been taken out and we have been waiting for a phone call for the past 2 days to resolve the issue and still havent heard anything... all they are doing is blaming that there is not enough staff to contact us because of the current pandemic! Not happy with the service we have recieved at all and il be taking this further if the problem isnt resolved by the end of the week shocking service

Been with acorn for 3 years.. people moaning about charges just make sure you have money in your bank, pay on time and all will be ok.. the late payment charges are stated in there T&C.. like anything else when it comes to finance.. how ever I did have late payments due to bank switch and they waived the 25 pound charge.. very friendly

Stay clear of these criminals. My son is trying to pay but cant get in touch during lockdown meanwhile they send out emails to say he has defaulted on the payments and expect him to pay a penalty. Disgraceful Unprofessional Scammers if you ask me. Take two stars off the review.

I have only been with them for three months and in that time they have incorrectly charged me for late fees each month, even though they have not updated my payment details on their system and are not available to take any of my calls during this pandemic and do not respond to their emails. This has been such a bad experience and I would not recommend these people to anyone looking for car insurance.

ok so my insurance is due the 2nd of every month yeah. "before" my payment was due on the 2nd of april i sent countless emails to acorn and granite explaining im on less hours at work due to corona and i asked countlessss times could i pay half of my installment on the 2nd of april and the other half the following week. i heard absolutely nothink until yesterday. granite had the cheek to call me nearly over a month later! the woman on the phone said and i quote "helo you requested a call back about a payment" i said yess nearly a month ago she then got irrate with me and disconnected the call! disgusting! from an insurance company.

Really bad service, after the company not taking payments and after me constantly email and going on chat to sort it out i still get a default notice for a payment that I was told I d paid and my account was up to date!! Complete headache and no kind of compromise for payments even though it was there fault!! So I ve literally had to find all the money because I can t be with out car insurance as I m a health care worker, can t speak to anybody is all done over chat by various different ppl who I have to then go all over it again and again

I haven't even had a direct debit schedule, I told Acorn my payments need to be around the 29th of the month and low and behold they tried to take it on the 24th. I've had no correspondence of either Acorn or Granite about the payment nevermind a late fee. I did web chat Acorn about changing the date and they said you need to speak yo Granite direct. Well yeah good luck in that one, numerous emails sent and not a reply back. I just don't know where I stand at the minute . It's a joke

I should get my refund for canceled policy in 14 days they said, now it s 30 and still no money I have from them. Several call just to talk rude people that keep saying wrong number you have I ll email correct department, that never come back to me. Now they keep trying to charge my account for another month of insurance even that it has been canceled month ago. Luckily I deleted direct debit as probably I would chase them for ages to get my money back. Horrible service, lockdown out-brake, people has got no income and here we go Granite all the way long, ripping people of! I m doing small claim court against them and reporting to trade standards.

Absolutely disgusting service...error on their system did not save DD details...3 weeks later they finally get back to me to take my bank details to then boost the price! i am now on attempt 6 of trying to get it sorted after the last 5 "we will call you back in 30-40 minutes" failed to happen...i am now 3 months into policy..... stay away BUY CHEAP BUY TWICE!

They sent me a demand for a monthly payment, threatening to cancel my insurance policy if I didn't cough up. Yet I had officially suspended my insurance with Acorn, their insurance broker. No means of communicating with them to clarify the issue, even though I'd expect they are aware of most businesses, including my taxi business have been negatively impacted by COVID19. No customer service number available online, only number available takes you straight to payment. No excuse for not having received my notice to suspend policy. They should have contacted the broker whom I've always communicated with rather than contact me directly. I'm seething.

They are scammers, they take your money when is their own fault with fraudulent charges and fees. They overcharged me the original car insurance quote. They web page doesn't work, they won't anwer the phone nor the email. They only collect money and overcharge and there is no way to contact them, complaint or check why they are doing what they are doing. AVOID AT ALL COST!!! CRIMINALS/

Charged me a late fee when i had money in my account, the only way to approach them was via the web which was no help, the only thing thay wad offered was a link to make the payment!

I dont know why insuranve companies have agreed to use these loan cowboys.

Will be relaying feedback to.insurance company and everyone should do the same.

I missed a payment due to the change of my wage date so I tried to call then several times no joy, so then I emailed them they emailed back just saying sending me a.link.to a online chat, I explained to the web chat adviser that my pay date has changed and if I can make a payment on that date. At first I thought they had agreed then they tell me I had to pay before the pay date or the policy would be cancelled lol I wasted 5mins chatting to this guy, just to be told this.

My taxi insurance with acorn has been suspended on request due the covid-19 andi have a confirmation letter from them that i can re-start when this goes away! this company send me email saying they going to cancel and they have switched off there lines!! Both companies switched off there lines!! Talk about sticking together in these hard times!! What a disgrace from both companies no humanity on them!! It's impossible!!!! i pay already whit this company at 28 April 2020 122.00 ponds and they send me the email and msg to pay another 147.00 ponds including the " charge " 25 ponds because they send me the link to pay The April Month !!!
I don't know whay they doing like that whit all the people's special in this period of time!! They are rubbers any time:) I make compliant with one company because it's not possible to rob me in face :))

They're extortionate, cannot speak with anyone, emails bounce back, I dont get how they're FCA regulated, they shouldn't be allowed to exist.
Acorn Insure, just as bad, as they let me to these clowns.

Incorrect late fees charged to my account. Promises of call backs not kept and every agent is adamant they are correct although proof of payment has been sent in upon their request.

Do not deal with these scammers especially in these trying times. You will lose your money and you will be unexpectedly left uninsured

Agree with other reviews ridiculous late charge was with acorn almost 3 years and they wouldnt extend time by a few days and cancelled my policy . Customer service is just rude and do not try and help anyone. Gone elsewhere for my insurance now .

very poor sent me a default notice even when money was in the bank, then paid by card and was told the payment failed so paid again only to be told the first payment went through ? then they took the direct debit the next day so i had paid 3 times !!!!!!!! then you have to jump through hoops to get your money refunded all round a very disappointing affair

Every thing that's said in reviews are correct . You set up a date for your direct debit to come out and then they decide when they want to take it out and give u a 25 late charge fee doesn't make sense at all .

For all customers on Granite - what they do is set up the Direct Debit but do not set a due date, therefore ensuring the payment fails. Just get proof from your bank that no due date was set and they will refund you. Don't let them rip you off. Scammers.
