Very clean and pretty rooms very close to restaurants, stores and the Nordic Center!
Very nice establishment. Quality building. Bit of highway noise. Views are spectacular.
Nice clean rooms. Great service from all staff. A real pleasure. We'll be back.
A nice, quiet place to eat breakfast. No crowds, seated right away. Food was good, a few minor things we think would improve the good would be to ask how people like their eggs done. Both our meals, classic breakfast and traditional eggs benedict, had either broken yolks or poached hard, but we weren't actually asked how we wanted our eggs prepared.. The hollandaise sauce is good as well as the breakfast potatoes.
Service was friendly and polite, but we did have to ask for coffee refills and more cream.
Overall, it could have been five star experience with the above mentioned tweaks.
I would definitely eat here again.
Two toilets are also equipped with all the conveniences such as two large living rooms and washing machines. I was really happy during the day.
The front reception staff is very nice and friendly but the suite was dirty. For $500+ per night I wouldn't expect to have someone else's toothpaste in spit sprayed on the bathroom door, wet and smeary dishes in the cabinets and musty smelling showers. Great location, we love Canmore but with so many similar places to choose from we will not be returning to the Grand Rockies. Bellstar typically does better :(
One of the worst check in experiences I have had so far. They get you to check in at a different location and then drive to The Grande Rockies where they place you on the 3rd floor. Get upto the 3rd floor with all the luggage and your keys don't work so you have to drag your luggage back down. When you finally get access to the room you realise the sink is stained and so they have to change you to an alternate room. Finally after a 10 hour drive from Vancouver you get a room.
Great views fromost rooms. Staff is fantastic and always willing to help if needed. Pool area is great for kids and clean! Coming back here again in the future!!
The service was great. Quality of the overall double rooms was good. Thermostat didn't work though. I would come back again because of the overall staff. There was one blonde server who wasn't very nice. She served my company party and her attitude wasn't welcoming. Spending over 20000 thousand for the week for a work event, you would think all the staff would be nice. Everyone was fantastic but her. Wish I got her name so I could make a formal complaint.
Great location, lovely comfortable family place, a little loud when you face the entry to the garage but found a way to enjoy waving at everyone driving by....
I checked out the lobby of the Grand Rockies Resort as I was waiting for a shuttle bus to take me to the RMSC Canmore Run. Staff looked friendly and the lobby looked well-kept.
One of the nicest hotels I've ever stayed at. The suites are huge with super comfortable beds and nice tvs. The bathrooms both had very exotic and fun spa like showers. The location is great. Canmore is a cute town in its own rite, and the hotel is super close to the highway, which is about a 15 minute drive to Banff. Free parking was also a huge plus.
The resort is gorgeous, the grounds are well maintained and the views are breath taking. However, I found that noise carried, and the beds were not the most comfortable. The room we had needed some cleaning, a little bit of dusting. All in all, it was nice but not my favorite.
Would ve been great, and we would ve rebooked, had the smoke alarms not gone off two mornings in a row, with little to no help from the staff; and not even so much as an apology, or an offering to accommodate the huge inconvenience of having an alarm go off for hours on end at 6am, which is about 20ft in the air
Great location, clean and the kids loved the pool and hot tub that is indoor and outdoor. Staff were very helpful and went the extra mile to make our stay enjoyable!! Food at the restaurant was fantastic and affordable.
We have stayed here a few times, both in the main building and the annex. It's alright for the price and amenities offered. The Georgetown Inn is right next door and great for pub food. No big complaints but a few little ones: Parking stalls are very tight in the annex, cable tv selection is not great and ppv is disabled on the cable box so no movie options, the pool is handy but kept too cold, and during our last visit (annex), our room window wasnt closed/latched properly and frozen open resulting in condensation/frost covering the window and obscuring our view of the mountains. All in all you get what you pay for.
This hotel is tired. The service is terrible, parking garage is a health hazard, pool area is dirty, rooms are over priced and the overall stay was a disappointment.
Booked a unit off of VRBO. The owner was great answering questions and helping organize our stay. Unit we are renting is very nice and clean. Kitchen has everything we need. Only issue we had was with another renter parking in our stall, luckily that was quickly resolved. Would definitely book here again.
The 3 bedroom double condo we rented was very modern, in good repair and comfortable for our multiple family group of 8. We arrived at 9:30pm on a Friday evening June 15, 2018. The checkin staff was friendly but most interested in convincing us to buy into the condo for permanent use. We were exhausted and has no choice about listening the sales pitch. Even though the price was not low to rent, we encountered 3 different parties wreaking of alcohol, screaming outside at 3am and being too obnoxious to share an elevator. The parking was really confusing and although we had an assigned parking spot for 2, two other cars had the same assignment.
We would stay again as it was very comfortable to have multiple spaces with very nice amenities in a great location, but would be prepared for grossly drunk weekenders and low parking availability.
Honestly it is a great place because the rooms are pretty big and clean . And all the facilities in the room were Brand new and of good quality. The rooms were clean and tidy. The only issue with this place is the lack of elevators, other than that it is close to perfect.
I stayed there for three nights and the place was good for people with kids or in a big groups. Only thing is the resort has a bit of distance from all the ski hills.
Always amazing kid friendly - pools and water slides, indoor and outdoor hot tubs. Restaurant and close to all amenities, great rooms
Annex building rooms are not good. No info about the main building
Absolute gorgeous place! Less crowded in comparison to Banff
I stayed there for three nights and the place was good for people with kids or in a big groups. Only thing is the resort has a bit of distance from all the ski hills.
Decently clean, very broken things in the room, nothing major, alittle loud but also had a very nice room, and i had no idea the habitat restaurant was disappointing
We stayed at a privately managed suite. Very nicely appointed. Thanks for the great stay and good memories.
Underground parking was nice. Lots of swimming area both for adults and children.
Paper thin walls. I literally just stood in the bathroom and listened to the neighbors talk about someone else's parents as if they were in the bathroom with me.
Suit is nice. The hotel is extremely loud. The rooms have hardwood floor so when someone drops something above you it's like the roof is falling in your suit. Doors slamming. Children running echos through the floors above us.
Pillows are way too hard. Sheets sound like your sleeping on news paper.
Our hotel suit is nice looking. Has everything you need to cook a meal. Bathroom is beautiful. Staff is friendly. Indoor/outdoor hot tub is fantastic.
Perhaps because we have a baby the noise effects us more.. but this hotel is VERY loud.
Great customer service and our room was stunning! Bed was comfy. We would definitely stay again and highly recommend this spot!
The rooms were nice and tidy. The bathroom shower was falling apart with rust on the handles and faucets, the handle to flush the toilet was very flimsy and difficult to flush. When we stayed, we forgot our swimsuits. We called housekeeping many times and no response. We drove back to the hotel to grab our bathing suits. The housekeeping didn't bother to look and just said that "they didn't have them". The pool was flithy and very rundown. The hotel looked nice, but the staff was not great. I expected better for the price of the hotel.
Recently my husband and I stayed here for 2 nights and had booked the Boutique King Room. On check in I asked for a free upgrade and we were given the Luxery Suite with one King. The room was very large with a seperating living room from the bedroom. It was for the most part clean and the decor was very nice. The bathroom had very nice finishes though the shower was very small. My husband who is 6ft couldnt use the rain shower because he hit his head. There was also no hair dryer, so remember to pack yours. The living space was HUGE with a fireplace, TV, pull out sofa, 2 chairs and a desk. We had great views of the mountains but because the room faced the street it was a little loud and the train tracks across the street could be heard frequently. The bedroom was a good size with a king bed, TV, chair and one nightstand. The bed was very comfortable and I LOVED the pillows!
The downfall to being in the King suits was that you are in a seperate building that is 2 parking lots away from the main hotel. To get to the pool (great size, with seperate kids area and indoor/outdoor hot tub), gym (on the small side, lacks in weights but good cardio equipment) and other ammenities you need to walk outside. Being that it was October and a little chilly it made for a cool walk back after getting out of the pool.
The staff were very accomedating in getting us what we needed and answering any questions. Overall its a nice hotel and I would recommend it to friends and family.
WONDERFUL resort. Our room was beautiful, very clean. Staff was amazing. Fireplace was a nice cosy surprise! ONE complaint.. One of the BIG reasons I splurged for this hotel was for the romantic ambiance and the hot tub! Unfortunately there were a TON of kids in it. I wish the hotel would keep the hot tub open until later, and have adult only time from say 10-11, for the couples looking for some romance or peace after a long day of skiing. I think it's a genius idea! hah
How is this a 4 star hotel??????????
The hotel has a main building and a 2nd stand alone building beside it which is the one we stayed in.
The room looks like a motel room. There is mold on top of the walls in the bathroom and the sink is all cracked. Where is the health inspector????
Beds were small and uncomfortable.
Furniture damaged and overall look of the room looked very rough.
Never staying here again.
Stayed here for one night and was extremely disappointed.
I booked through HotelTonight and the room was nothing like the pictures on the app. On the app the rooms looked large with a fireplace and a window with a nice view.
In reality the room was quite small, the view was overlooking a construction site and there was no fireplace.
There was no fitted sheet on the bed, which was quite strange. It was just a flat sheet on top of the mattress, so the sheet did not stay put on the bed very well. The bed was very hard and uncomfortable.
We arrived at 9:30pm and were very excited to use the pool and hot tub, but were told that they close at 10pm. This was quite disappointing because that was one of the appeals of this hotel.
After 6 hours of driving I was hoping to be able to at least take a soak in the bathtub, but there was no bathtub in the room. I have never heard of a hotel room without a bathtub. On top of that the shower was dirty.
The paint was chipping off all the doors and the balcony in the room wasn't available even though it is springtime now.
We were put in a building called "The Annex Building", which I am sure was of less quality than the main hotel building.
I spoke to the concierge while checking out and told them about my disappointment. They said they would reach out to the app and request a discount for our stay. They couldn't' do anything right away because we paid through the app and not at the hotel. A few days later I hadn't heard anything so I reached out to the app. Turns out the hotel had no record of my complaint and therefore won't do anything about it.
I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
This place has a great hot tub. Walls are paper thin. Fireplace was super cozy.
Awesome room, also close to Canmore dt, good place to stay in Canmore
Pool is awesome for young kids to play in. Very clean and neat resort. So far the trip is amazing.
Not bad. Pretty well functioning rooms. Water slide for the kids
We stayed in a room with two double beds in the annex building. The room wasn't in the best condition maintenance wise. The door to the balcony wouldn't shut properly unless my husband slammed it really hard (possibly due to cold, but the previous guests had left it unlocked because they were unable to close the door enough). The room also had a lot of dents and dings. We were allowed to used the pool prior to our room being ready, which was nice! In the future we will choose to book a suite in the main building for proximity to the pool, which is the main reason we stay at this hotel.
At first glance the hotel is beautiful and I'm sure the main building is but the separate "annex" hotel is pretty mediocre and also inconvenient. Looks like something I'd see at a best western but for double the price. Only positives of the room were the balcony and the great shower (although it would have been nice to have a bath considering we had 2 kids with us) It wasn't dirty but also wasn't spotless... Hair dryer could most definitely be updated. Beds were comfy but not great.
The front desk staff were friendly so no complaints there. No complimentary breakfast which is kind of crazy considering the price of the room... there is a bar right across from the annex building so it was pretty loud and also smelled like grease outside the balcony. View was nice other than the power lines and construction....
The pool was probably the only thing that made the hotel worth it. It has a great area for kids and a big water slide. The hot tub leads outside which was incredible but there isn't much space for your belongings as there are no lockers and only a few chairs.
Overall our stay wasn't awful, but next time we are in canmore we will find elsewhere to stay.
After repeated attempts to call guest services from my room phone (unanswered) I visited the guest desk to fix a faulty shower in my room. I requested a replacement suite and it was explained to me that there were suites available, but they didn't want to inconvenience future guests by reassigning rooms. As the inconvenienced present guest I was annoyed by the situation, waited for maintenance to arrive (one hour after my in person visit), and was informed the problem had been fixed, only for it to reoccur on first operation of the shower. Terrible follow up and poor facilities.
They give us a key to someone else's room first..so they give us another room then someone tried entering our room because they give them the keys to our room it's a shambles
Great for families with waterslides, kid pool and an outdoor hot tub.
Upon checkin, we were given key cards that said room 327. We went to that room and the keys wouldn't work. We later found out we were supposed to have room 225. I then went to that room but because we had tried the other room first, our key cards were no longer working. In the end it was all sorted out, but not before trekking all our stuff and a 6 year old all over the hotel, and back to the checkin desk twice. Other than that little hiccup, there was very little else to complain about the facility. The Grand Rockies Resort is a great place to get away with families with young ones. The pool was great, rooms were clean and fully furnished with everything you need for a perfect getaway.
Not great...I wouldn't recommend this place...beds are very uncomfortable shower isnt good ....the hostile down the road would of be a better night ...
Really clean place. Building looks newly built still even though it's been open a few years. Great pool and slide for all ages. Good location in the town of Canmore. Room had laundry kitchen. Wifi was great speed as well.
No complaints really. The in suite kitchens could be better stocked but overall a good time
Amazing place for families and have a good pool ,bar , restaurant etc .
Horrible horrible horrible. Not worth the money. It looks nice at first glance but it's very run down. We stayed in the one bed room suite with a pull out couch. The pull out was beyond over used and just gross. Had stains all over it and it was flat and ripped. The shower taps were back wards, the dishwasher was broken.
The worst part was the staff. They told us to get towels from the front desk but the lady had no idea where to get them. When we checked out one staff pushed his way past us with a cart nearly knocking my two year old over then scaring her cuz she ended up on the other side of him away from us and started to cry. I pushed my way past him to get her. All he could do was roll his eyes and walked away. Like who does that to a child? We told the front desk about our experience all they said was maybe stay for breakfast in an hour and we will give us 15% off your bill. LOL No thanks.
Good experience, make sure they explain the parking garage to you. Other than that, had a great time. Definitely go try the restaurant!
Hotel was very loud. Very loud. The pool area was quite cold. Overall the rooms were not very clean. We probably would not stay here again. The location, however was great.
This hotel was alright, definitely nothing special. When we got to our hotel room it was completely ice cold so we had to turn on the heat and wait for a bit . Secondly our sheets were dirty and when we informed the front desk they ensured that we will get new ones right away. So when we got back to our hotel and look at our sheets they were just flipped inside out , probably hoping that we didn t see the food stains and blood stains etc. It was pretty gross and ridiculous. Also during our stay the lights went out around 7pm and lasted for about 2.5 hours, so we were stuck in the hotel room in complete dark. They did take off 10% for that night , but we were still disappointed about the sheets and how dirty they were and that nothing was done.
I gave three stars because the indoor and outdoor hot tub was great. But beware there really aren t any change rooms just a bath room for each gender to change. We were shocked when we got there.
Everything was good the hotel the pool pricing. Except for the drunken adults that could not follow the simple rules of no alcohol in the pool area. The lady at the front desk advised me that the pool is closing within an hour and it's not worth her time to make a fuss about this. This would be one of our last family trips in the next few years and it was spoiled because of these irresponsible adults.
Excellent location. Staff were great. Underground parking.
Great luxury condos. Perfectly placed in mountains
I stayed in the other building so we had to walk in the cold to go to the pool
I am currently staying at the resort. And after a terrible night s sleep am wondering if we will be leaving today rather than stay the several nights we have booked. Loud partying in the penthouse above us went on until nearly 2am despite 3 or 4 complaints from us starting in the early evening. I can t imagine we were the only ones who were bothered by this selfish and inconsiderate group. GRR - it is your responsibility to ensure this kind of behaviour is taken care of promptly if you want return guests!
Grand Rockies Resort; stayed here for two nights during our recent Canadian holiday, awesome hotel, great rooms, friendly & courteous staff, excellent dining, there's a great buffet breakfast on offer each day, for about $18 CAD. Free Wifi also available. The views from out front are spectacular. The hotel is only a short distance from the beautiful township of "Banff", which is a must see, plenty of gift shops & places to dine, the views here, also are simply amazing. Do come and check out the Grand Rockies Resort and the township of "Banff", you won't be dissappointed. Enjoy your time here!
It s not very clean in the room we stayed but the mountain view was breathtaking !
This is 2nd time we visited. It was great time for our family. ||||It was wonderful choice to stay over at Grande Rockies resort which is luxury room, heated pool and excellent food. Such a great time. Also we got a upgrade room type chance this time.
Older hotel but it has been modernized and is clean. The restaurant is nice as well with some unique dishes. When we checked the A/C was not working and the staff switched us to a new room without hesitation.
It's starting to show its age, having been here a couple of times over the years the hotel is not yet "rundown." But it certainly needs some updates and refurbishment.
Fairly nice room except no air conditioning, bathroom door has no lock, and there were no sheets ready for the pullout sofa bed...all fairly small concerns.
Had to walk about a km to get to the pool, but it was great. Definitely the highlight for us with small kids. Still hoping I have the time to try the cool steam shower in our room as well.
The showers in the suites were the highlights! Got music, massage, rainfall shower, moon light, it is like a mini spa in room!
Rooms were clean but a little older. The annex building is across the roundabout from the main building with all the amenities so it's a bit of a hassle if you want to use the gym or pool. Great location otherwise. 5 min drive or 15 min walk to downtown canmore. 20 minutes from Banff. Can't beat waking up in the mountains! Staff were all friendly and helpful.
Excellent location. AMAZING view of the Three Sisters. Breakfast was so so good and huge portions. Front desk agent Trevor was super friendly and happy. The only negative is the annex building has almost no view because there's construction currently of a brewery pub. And way too many kids in the pool ... hard to avoid with a water slide I guess lol. I definitely recommend this property
Overall a nice looking and clean hotel. Elevators (2/3) were down for our arrival but was fixed later in the evening. The shower in our suite was great with lots of settings such as steam, rainfall, feet massage, etc. I found the toilet awkwardly placed with the toilet paper to the left of the toilet. Toilet itself needs an upgrade. In suite laundry and a full kitchen with microwave. Lots of electrical outlets were a plus. LCD tv in the living room and bedroom with HDMI outlet.
