Very nice and well maintained hotel in old and classic style, distant modern and sterile standard hotel buildings. Grand Hotel Terminus opened its doors in 1928 and still offers much of the old and pleasant atmosphere. The rooms are well-kept and seem to be well maintained and refurbished.
The breakfast restaurant on the ground floor offers a well-presented buffet that probably won't disappoint anyone.
The location, a stone's throw from Bergen's central station, makes the hotel a very good choice for anyone traveling by train. The car-borne finds a large parking garage a few minutes walk away, directly adjacent to a larger shopping center.

Very poor on follow-up to allergy - served 3 out of 3 dishes without care being taken - had to ask several before they found out that "oups, this you can not eat anyway". Only gluten-free option: defrosted frozen bread so dry that it was impossible to eat.

Hot water and fruits available at the lounge bar.

Old hotel but staff was professional. Outside paved road makes it hard for wheeled luggage.

Just couple minutes walk from train and metro station.

Stayed at the hotel for two nights. A good hotel, with great service and a smiling and welcoming staff. I have seen cleaner rooms and the hotel does seem a bit worn but that is expected with the age of the hotel. The whiskey bar downstairs is quite impressive and their selection is outstanding! Would stay again.

OK, let's start with the bad points.

OK, let's start with the bad points.

Yes the rooms are small, pretty much Parisian dimensions. And yes the sound insulation could be better, both from the outside and adjacent rooms.

Now with that out of the way..
The hotel is a 1920s building that still retains a lot of the period charm which I happen to like. It's conveniently located next to the train station, the light rail stop and a few minutes from the center. There's a bar/restaurant. Not a big menu but what they do serve they do well.
Breakfast is an excellent spread with a lot of organic products, all fresh, all in ample supply. There's a coffee machine on the ground floor that's free to use and there's a service room with washer/dryer and iron.

Rooms.. some reviewers suggest it's recent subdivision that makes them small. I do wonder.. I've been in a hotel that served a similar function in Denmark and that also had small rooms because it was designed for short stay.
Despite that.. it might be small but I didn't feel cramped and at 6ft 6 I'm not exactly a small person. Shower was good, plenty of water pressure.
Pretty much the only thing I disliked about the room was the lack of wall sockets at the desk.

Staff was without exception friendly and provided a very warm welcome without appearing insincere. And this being Norway of course they all speak excellent English.

All in all a pretty good place to stay and I would visit again.

The rooms were small even for Europe. The temperature control didn't work and it would get too hot with window closed and too cool with it open. The plus is it was quiet and good location. Not much of a bar or restaurant downstairs kinda dead. They gave us a double bed even though we wanted single but were quick to fix.

I highly recommend this place. Helpful reception. Room change without a problem. The hotel requires renewal of the communication routes and the replacement of carpets. Some rooms with old carpets remember various events and events, which results in an unpleasant smell or an allergy. Order rooms without carpeting and with a renovated bathroom, and you will be satisfied. Open 24/7 gym. Food in the restaurant (bar) delicious, and priced at the level of average city prices.
Breakfast is very varied and tasty, but warm dishes are not always warm or a little dry.

Without praise and without infamy. The rooms are very small and the structure needs more maintenance. The only advantage is the proximity to the historic center of Berger. The restaurant inside the hotel has exceeded the sufficiency. The service is fast, but the dishes are limited to Norwegian cuisine. Breakfast is different but only because it is international. Prices a little dear.
