Was there on Christmas table. My mince dinner was good but stiffly priced. The same applies to the drinks. The rib dinner for him sitting next to me was just sad things. Service more confused than helpful.

For the price this is a great hotel. We were traveling on the Nutshell tour and spent the night here because it was close to the train station for our morning departure. For about $150 (in Norway no less) this is a nice hotel. Rooms are about the size of a New York hotel room but you have everything you need (including a pretty good hairdryer- woohoo!) and the beds are comfortable. If you're expecting 5 star luxury you should go elsewhere (and pay triple). However, for the room rate this is a convenient, clean, comfortable hotel with a bit of historic charm, plus the included breakfast is excellent and the staff are courteous. It's an eat 10-15 minute walk from the harbor and most sights, and a 30 second walk to the train station in a very safe area. Highly recommended for nutshellers and travelers who want a lovely historic hotel without the pricetag.

This hotel is a grand dame, showing her years but no less comfortable for it. Excellent breakfast buffet! A great location if you are arriving or departing Bergen by rail. The deluxe double room was spacious and the bed good for sleeping.

Historic hotel ten minutes from the center of Bergen.
Spacious room and bathroom, with comfortable beds and furniture that gives a touch of modernity.
Very varied breakfast, ranging from classic cereals from around the world to typical Norwegian cold cuts.
Great for a stay in the beautiful city of Bergen.

The kitchen seemed to not care about allergies, and I got foods that I am allergic against several times. The room was really cold, and shower had next to water pressure. The whole hotel stank of paint. The waitstaff was really nice, but the desk staff was really not nice. They seemed sulky and really annoyed

Well located hotel for walking sightseeing and the port. Due to this location, it is also used very frequently by ship travelers. This comes with waiting times at the elevator and at breakfast (seats). Breakfast very regional, but good and a lot of choice. Room nice and clean. Service a bit cautious, had problems with the wifi and no help or explanation was offered. Still, the stay was okay.

Missing that little extra on service. Decent breakfast but cannot recommend lunch or dinner. A little taste and tough meat. The waiters did a great job, but the chef failed in his field
