Went to the Rose Bar. Service was slow because it was unusually busy for the time we went. Only one bartender so I don't hold that against them. The bartender was excellent for someone being overworked. The drinks were excellent but the prices are high. It's an upscale place so that's also expected. Went to kill time before dinner and was not disappointed.

A classic in NY, have stayed here 3 times, the rooms are very interesting, with the dark wood floors and very nice carpets and fabrics. Unfortunately age-old heating technology in the rooms. Asop bath products. The concierge has good "places to be" recommendations.

Pretty cool place. I myself find it to be trying way too hard to be trendy but i 100% see how people could find this a nice spot to chill and knock a few back. I would likely not go again unless i had another meeting.

If you are looking for luxury, DO NOT STAY AT THIS...

If you are looking for luxury, DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL! My husband and I stayed at the Gramercy Park Hotel this past weekend after reading all of the rave reviews, however, after our stay, I'm convinced that the reviews were written long ago or by someone who does not know what a 4 or 5 star hotel is. We are accustomed to 5 star hotels, but wanted to try something a bit different from the Upper East side hotels we usually stay in. Upon arrival, two guys acting like secret service just looked at us until they saw us struggling with our luggage at which time they assisted us. I guess they are the bellmen, but who knew? Not very customer service oriented to say the least. The hotel is very dark and upon entry we saw not the lobby as photographed and posted on their site, but rather a very run down version with filthy rugs! They do have lots of candles lit around the lobby, and I'm thinking that is to mask the musty smell. When we got to our room, I felt like we had been transported to some insane asylum back in the 1930s and actually wondered if the door locked behind us and we might not be able to get out! The carpet was filthy. The wooden baseboards very beaten up with raw wood showing. Smudges on the walls. The velvet sofa and chairs were dirty and very worn. The bathroom was tiny and was a tub/shower combo that sat right next to the toilet. Two lights were burned out, and one sparked when I turned it on! We had purchased a package deal that came with a bottle of wine. They didn't bring the wine until I had to remind them on the second night, and when I opened the bottle, it was an old bottle of wine gone bad! On the website, they mention a rooftop Terrace. Well, this is apparently only for special events, and was booked the entire time we were there. The Jade Bar and Rose Bars got cranking around midnight with tons of young, wealthy, drunk kids. Gramercy Park Hotel needs a complete do over if they plan to compete in the market. We will never stay there again!

Location was a great experience and is located in the heart of NYC. My only complanits is that the bar attached to the hotel is extremely exclusive and is unfortunately difficult to get into. I had a table and left to say hi to a friend outside and wasn't allowed back in. Staff is friendly and the interior is quite nice. Unfortunately they are not very eco friendly and there was no option to say no to changing toerls. In addition, the hotel WiFi was spotty at best and difficult to use. Great views and interesting feel to the place. Would recommend trying to get the keys to Gramercy park for a fun exclusive experience

Went for drinks at the lounge which is now more of a club. Everything was great except the music was all hip hop and they did away with the pool table. Feels like more of a generic club rather than the rose bar of old

This is one of the best spaces in NYC. This is a place that is well considered and feels "special". This is a place where, even though they have a bar you can't get into, it's okay to sit in the bar you can get into and you still feel nice. The room numbers are woven into the carpet in front of the door of the room.

Basically, this is the hotel that all the other hip Brooklyn-y hotels are trying to be. And, it's super expensive. Like, genuinely expensive. So, it probably can't get too crowded, which is good.

Beautiful hotel rooms are dark however you might like that kind of gothic looking. Great rooftop bar. Coming back into the hotel late at night hallways smell no matter what floor every stay I smell Mary Jane. Mmmmmmm I think briefly I am in Amsterdam.....lol

I've stayed at this hotel on two separate occasions, with high hopes both times. My issue is mainly with the staff and their organizational skills vs. the hotel/hotel room itself.

The rooms are my favorite by far, I love the set up with the bar, couch, and long table. It's a unique room design that you can't find at many hotels, and is a real draw for this place. Yes, the lighting will be low so if you are looking for a brightly lit hotel room this is not it. The only complaint I have is on my second stay there the bathroom smelled like sewer. My coworker had a room on the other side that didn't have the smell, so I should have changed rooms. That was on me.

The staff is extremely hit or miss, which is not something you should experience at this hotel. It's hard to get anything done, including a copy of your folio. I'm 0 for 2 with a folio being put under my door (old school style) or emailed to me. Upon check out I say, hey can you email me my folio as I haven't gotten it yet. They say yes, confirm my gmail address and it has not been sent. It involves me having to call the hotel at a later date, talk to someone who can print a folio as it seems everyone can't or just don't want to and it's honestly a pain. Overall it's a gorgeous hotel, but I'm never relaxed when I go there so it's not for me next time.

Went to the Rose Bar at the hotel. Seemed very stuffy, and nothing real special about it. Interesting set up with the different types of couches and seats, but it made you feel out of place. We got up and left.

Probably my favorite hotel in Manhattan. Located perfectly beside Gramercy Park itself, visitors staying at the hotel are allowed to visit the private park which was a wonderful experience. The contemporary art-focused decor features a lot of works by Damien Hirst which fit absolutely perfectly with the gothic nature of the building. The whole hotel is scented with le labo candles (which you can buy from the mini bar) and it has a warm atmosphere decorated with plush mixed with shabby chic interiors and stunning wood paneling. I had a loft room which was absolutely huge by NYC standards. Everything was super clean, comfy and luxurious plus the staff were a joy and so helpful. It was my birthday and they gave me a box of mini birthday cakes too which was so kind as well as delicious! Aesop products were an added bonus too. Highly recommend!
