I travel on a weekly basis, and typically stay at 4* Marriott hotel properties. I ve got really excited when I realized I can stay at Gramercy park hotel. Upon checking in, the receptionist was not helpful, as I had to figure out why my reservation was not showing on my Marriott app, he explained its boutique hotel, but they do have a partnership with them, so I got my membership added to the system to collect points. Anyhow, I went to shower after getting in late, only to find out pubic hairs in my bathtub. Upon calling, the service desk was not helpful, and I had to be firm that it is not acceptable to check when the cleaner can come to clean the bathroom (mind you it s 11pm and I m tired after a long day). In the end, I got upgraded, but somehow the experience from the beginning, to finding a filthy room, completely defeated my excitement at staying at this property. I think, from my personal experience, (staff were unpleasant, room being unclean etc.) I can honestly say, I won t be staying here or recommending this hotel to others.

I went to the night club portion of the hotel and it was alright, but it doesn't have a great vibe. The place is very exclusive, so it winds up being somewhat empty. With the carpeting and the couches it kind of feels like a cocktail party in a living room.

Skip this hotel. The attitude of the staff is surly and New York City arrogant. NYC taxi drivers more accomodating. We had a wedding party on Saturday night and met for breakfast on the terrace for breakfast. We arrived at 10:30 am and asked for menus and coffee. It was 11am by the two pots of coffee arrived. By 11:30 our waiter reappeared. We hastened to order breakfast and we're told we missed breakfast which was included in our room rates. Lunch was not included. We ordered eggs and pancakes juice and coffee which was now lunch. By 1 lunch appeared. We could not stay as hair appointments etc for wedding had to be attended. 2 more pots of coffee. The bill for six was over $550 with each pot of coffee at $55 each. I paid with Visa. To my surprise the bill was also added to my room charge double dipped. At checkout it was corrected. Before retiring late Saturday night I ordered room service for 6am breakfast Sunday. Breakfast was included in the room rate. No service supplied. I called to say I was checking out at 7am. I had a driver at 7am pick me up to go to the airport. No help with luggage. In caffeine withdrawal I went to the terrace lounge at 6:50 am for coffee to go. Not possible. We do not open till 7am. Very true. I complained at the desk. No help. The hotel is beautifully appointed but overpriced. In the 1830 s the drivers of the Hudson and Harlem street railroad lines horse drawn were known for rudeness. GPH has captured this in a bottle. Go to the bar and have a drink if the bouncer will let you. Enjoy the Warhol and ambiance then leave. It's old world without the charm. Duncan Donuts is across the street. Yum.

The rooms were decently sized and had interesting decor and lighting. We requested no housekeeping services for our 2 day stay, but the maids kept trying to enter our room. They would only knock briefly and then use their key to open the door and barge in. Once they saw people were in the room, they would leave. That happened at least 4 times during our stay and we weren t sure why they kept trying to come into our room. We also were denied access to the private park because it was snowing and they don t allow people to go in if the weather is bad.

5 Start? HAHA. No.

5 Start? HAHA. No.

When you call room service three times in 5 minutes but don't get through and then get hung up on when you do ... it's not really a 5 star hotel.

It's definitely a nice 4 star place but you'll want to get it a discount (they're all over the sites like hotwire). Just note that the rooms and the service are a bit lacking.

Currently ranked 47/50 on the Conde Nast travel list for NY Hotels in 2017.

My wife surprised me for my birthday with a night out in the city. She told me that the people at GPH were amazing to work with in setting up the reservation. From the moment we walked into the hotel everything was top notch. I was blown away with the service, the hotel was busy but the concierge and front desk made us feel as if we were the only ones at the hotel. We were welcomed with champagne, our room was upgraded, and they had treats for us waiting in the room when we went upstairs. Walking around the hotel the staff were very welcoming, called us by name and quick to wish me a happy birthday. The hotel ambience is perfect as well. Last we got home and the hotel even messaged my wife to make sure our stay was perfect. We are already looking for another weekend to spend at GPH. Best Place to stay in NYC!!!

They do not deserve a 4.6 star review. The interior design is interesting and you can access to the private Gramercy park which is quite nice, but don't expect any services from hotel staffs and cleaning service is nothing much but make the bed and clean the bathroom room. The carpet is filthy, the wood is so beaten and the room is small. We stayed here for 4 days, the most horrible hotel experience we ever had in NYC. Will never come back.

As other reviewers have pointed out, there's minimal service from the staff: doormen (either absent or oblivious to arriving/departing guests) to absent concierge (the desk was empty most times we went through the lobby) and check-in desk (1 person servicing, check in/out waiting). Attitude of the staff reminds me of a NYC meatpacking club.

Our king sized bed room was of reasonable size except there was with an enormous table and large chairs taking up most of the room space, leaving little place to put two suitcases.

GPH is too much style, too little substance. Rose bar is nice, but makes the lobby rather busy Wed-Sat evenings. The overall impression is GPH is mostly a stylish bar/club, with a hotel on top.

I am baffled at how this place has such a high star rating. The place is extremely dark from the moment you walk in the door. You almost need your flashlight on your phone to see where you re going. The rooms are not any better they have a old creaky floors and dark drab furniture with red velvet curtains. This place is very dark and a little creepy. The staff was very nice but again I m surprised at how highOf a star rating that they received. I will also say the breakfast was good. Overall I would prefer a place where I can see if it is clean or not.

I visited the Gramercy Park Hotel Terrace for the Rebel Fashion Party being thrown by Nylon magazine. The interior of the hotel is gorgeous and the clientele is very affluent. The Terrace itself provides excellent views of the surrounding city but is not necessarily the best place to have two hundred people at once.

Besides being a beautiful property with an excellent location. The staff at the Gramercy Park Hotel goes above and beyond to ensure the satisfaction and comfort of their guests. I ordered room service several times throughout my stay and each time, it was delicious and delivered promptly. While I did have a minor problem with the room, the issue was quickly resolved as soon as I alerted the front desk. I give the GPH 5 stars for location, amenities, customer service, and essentially all around!
