Very disappointed. Came for the beef Wellington only to be told it is served only medium-rare, gross. Scallops were Raw on one side (we were told that is how they come) and my asparagus was burnt. Chef Ramsey, I think you need to check-up on this restaurant of yours because the Maze NYC is NOT up to your standards! Honestly, not worth the money or snooty waiters.

I am more impressed by the London rendition of this restaurant. The menu options were much smaller here which was the first disappointment. None of the food was very memorable - but it wasn't bad. It was a special event so I was willing to spend the money, but it didn't measure up to its cost. Service was very good though, especially at the bar. Not a-Mazed.

My cousin took me here for my birthday and all I can say is WOW! The service was superb and the food was divine. We each had the 7-course tasting menu and it was just amazing. The food was spectacular and the military precision with which everything is done and the expertly crafted menu ensures that each guest has a memorable experience. I would definitely return.

Maze was just OK for me. Perhaps I had higher expectations for a Gordon Ramsay restaurant. The atmosphere was good. There was enough room to seat 4 people comfortably. The prices for this caliber of restaurant were decent. I will say though that the portions were on the money, especially if having a three-five course meal. The service was great. Our waiter, Andres, was very attentive without being annoying.

Overall OK. There isn't a rating for that.

I have been a fan of Chef Ramsay for quiet some time now and when i discovered he opened a restaurant in NYC i was in awe. The food is beyond AMAZING and the servers were very pleasant. And the seeing is just phenomenal.

Fantastic meal overall. My wife and I enjoyed a meal from the prix fixe menu, which had a number of terrific menu options. My wife had the best fish dish she ever had in the sea bass, and I greatly enjoyed both a rabbit and a venison dish. With the 3 course dinner came two amuse bouche's, one palate cleanser, and a dessert assortment. Service was fantastic as expected. The decor was okay, but really nothing to ruin your experience.

Very exquisite atmosphere. Very friendly staff. Best of all, the food is extremely delicious. Best recommended to have the wine pairing with your course. You will not be disappointed.

We had high exeptations of Maze in NYC. But it was not that good actually.
We ordered a fixed dinner with 4 courses. The staff was super stressed, and we had 3 courses in less that 40 minutes. I had to tell them to hold the desserts for a wile. Otherwise we would have finished dinner in less than an hour!
And the food was not great, and not aweful. But thinking of the Chef who opened this restaurant, it doesent live up to it!
Dont go here!

Absolute worst dining experience of my life. The service was slow, food average, prices high and Maze thought it was okay to seat twin two year old boys that literally screamed and threw silverware. We got up and left mid meal. I am extremely disappointed. It is baffling that the restaurant did nothing to address the issue. When we asked for our check the boys screamed so loud our waiter was startled. The most appalling part is we asked for our check to be charged for food we didn't receive. It was an argument to pay for what we ate which was two small plates, soup, water and one beer which was over $100. We left with a headache and hungry.

Absolutely amazing! I went and had a 3 course pre-fixe meal. started with the wonderful squash soup which was great, then the duck breast for entree which was one of the best things I have ever eaten, then for desert a chocolate fondant which was spectacular. I loved it. I would defiantly recommend it. Defiantly a highlight of my nyc trip. Also the decor was very nice, comfortable yet sophisticated. Service was also excellent. 3 stars all around.

LOVED this modern bar/restaurant. The atmosphere is great for just a casual drink, or a fancy meal. Loved the seating and decor.

I had the steak and frites. Perfectly cooked medium with a crusty out side and soft inside. Fries were beyond awesome. If I lived in NYC, I'd be spending most of my paycheck here.

Drinks are fantastic, and very generous for the price.

food is treated like art. bland fish appetizers topped with large amounts of cotton candy-i didn't get it. portions were tiny. desserts looked great, but just didn't taste great. service and decor topnotch. next time i'll try the bar- seemed a lot more interesting and a lot less costly. if you want a meal like this, go to per se.

The food and service was AMAZING! not too badly priced either for what it is. The only down side is they offered us a starter drink which was a choice of 4 wines/chanpagnes. got our bill and found out they are $55 and $35 for the GLASS. totally blindsited and ruined a great evening

My family loves Gordon Ramsay! We have watched all the seasons of Hells Kitchen and have looked forward to the day when we could eat at one of his restaurants.

So, we recently visited NYC and couldn't wait to have a taste of the Ramsay experience first hand.

Well, first the staff had no idea who the chef was that one Hells Kitchen. That was disappointing, but, we quickly moved on and took in the ambiance. It was very nice, pretty casual, which was a surprise, but not a big deal. We couldn't wait to see the menu! My husband has wanted the steak wellington forever.

Me and my family were so disappointed with the food and service. It was awful. The two tables next to us had to return their food as well....ANYWAY,

Me and my hubby are traveling to Las Vegas and are eager to wipe away this memory by doing it again! I hope the next Gordon Ramsay Steak will be a winner!

I have always wanted to dine at a Gordon Ramsay Restaurant and my first time was what I expected. It was amazing!!!!!! The food was up to standards. I cannot complain about the food or the atmosphere in the dining room. I excited about going to other restaurants of his and hope not to be disappointed.

We came here for dinner and food was just.... aiiite. Not particularly memorable whatsoever with ok waiters. Waiters were not knowledgable enough to make good recommendations, as a good communicator who tend to trust experts' expertise, I somehow found myself lost in a MAZE with terrible food choices. I'm not saying Gordon Ramsay is not a great chef; I've never seen a single episode of Hell's Kitchen, but given his popularity, I think he might be a great chef. It's just I didn't quite like what I ordered(it's just too mediocre) - smoked trout, branzino and milk chocolate mousse. The ambience was nice though, and I actually liked the decor.

My wife and I went here on a vacation and had to eat at Gordan Ramsey's restaurant. We were not disappointed! The bread was great, in fact, it as one of the highlights. We shared the fish n' chips and a hamburger. The carrot cake at the end was the best dessert we have ever had. Do not leave New York without going here.

Have eaten mostly at lunchtime where the food is consistently good and the service is excellent. Found it much too noisy at dinner. The burger at lunchtime is especially nice, as good as any in the city.

Service- extremely good, best I have had.
Food- best meal I have ever had!

The waiter looks after all your needs even helped me get my coat on and off which was a nice touch. Waiter have a very good knowledge of the menu helping us choose.

A must visit restaurant if in the New York area! Very impressed and glad we went

Almost fell asleep during Afternoon Tea! Overpriced with very uncomfortable booth seating and generic sandwiches. The food was lacking flavour and the waiter hardly came around to check on us or to see if we needed anything more. We would have ordered more drinks if we had the chance to speak with our waiter (although it wasn't busy at all). I was surprised at the lack of good food and overall disappointed in my experience at a Gordon Ramsey restaurant.

Reservation system is obsolete... Put you on a log wait even though you make reservations and show up on time.... By the way... I see empty tables... Gordon Ramsay, let me see the service consistency please. You don't get money by directing people to the lounge so they get hungry and thirsty and order the unnecessary $15 cocktail or $10 finger food. A kitchen nightmare on the management part... Will review the food once we are seated.... If we ever get to be seated

Food is good.... But a small cockroach visited during dinner. Gordon Ramsay, what's wrong with this restaurant?

I went to Gordon's MAZE for my 1 year anniversary with my boyfriend. They kindly sat us in a corner booth, perfect for cuddling, and the overall atmosphere was elegant and upscale. We ordered the 5 course meal along with a few other entrees and shared everything. We had heard from other reviews that there were small portions and I'm glad we knew ahead of time. The best dishes on the menu are the risotto and the halibut (both were not a part of the 5 course meal). The service was just okay. It took an incredibly long time to bring out or premiere entree and the waiter didn't seem to notice for quite some time. We had to ask for him to inquire about our order. Aside from that, I would recommend this place for a special night out celebration.

The food, service, everything was wonderful! My husband and I went to this restaurant during our honeymoon in New York. We told the waiter we are on our honeymoon and they brought us glasses of champagne and a free desert! Definitely recommend to anyone wanting a nice night out.

Amazing food, and reasonable price.

Amazing food, and reasonable price.
I had the bouillabaisse for my main course, and custard with cream, straw berry coulis, and coriander. Seasoned perfectly, and very light lunch course with fine dining elegance. The waiters were sublime, and made customers including myself, delighted to be served. Only constructive criticism for the restaurant would be the salad. The butter lettuce was fresh, crunchy, but the Dijon mustard dressing was a little to spicy and heavy for my liking.

9/10.

To sum it up, Gordon Ramsey would have fired almost everyone working there that night.

How it went?
We arrived about 15 minutes before our reservation time yet they were accommodating enough, and sat us at our table. The restaurant had a good ambiance, good lighting and was full enough.

The waiter came over and asked weather we liked flat or sparkling water. We indicated that we prefer flat and he brought over the bottle. He then took my wife's drink order and walked away without addressing my drink request. Now, I am only assuming here, I thought that he got upset because she didn't order an alcoholic drink (Although they charge $5.50 for pop) and walked away. I on the other hand do enjoy a beverage and only got my order in once he came back to take our food order.

We then apparently threw fuel on the fire because we decided to share an appetizer (which was their tuna tartare. It was very good!) and had a couple questions about their menu. I was now clearly being a nuisance. My clearly offensive question was "Which is more popular, the chicken confit or the bouillabaisse?" He indicated that the bouillabaisse was better, therefore that is what I ordered.

My glass went empty during the appetizer and I had to wait until he came to clear the plate. I asked him for another glass and he gave his smirk to me and nodded yes. He went back to the station, which I thought was to punch in my drink order, yet it turns out that it was to chat/joke with the manager and another server. I now started asking my wife if he might have been upset that I was wearing jeans with my dress shirt and sport coat (we checked on the site for the dress code before our trip). Yet we looked around and saw a few others that were also wearing jeans. After they were done laughing at the station, roughly 10 minutes, he looked over, made eye contact with me and then punched something in, and went over to the bar to get my wine.

Our dinner plates came over by a couple of gentlemen that were very pleasant actually and began our dishes. Even if we had this difficult waiter, the app was great therefore our dinners could only be as good and we were looking forward to our dinners.

My wife had the risotto which was good yet my Bouillabaisse was uneatable. It looked good yet the shellfish was smelly and tough to chew. I waited for our waiter to check up on us to indicate that there was a problem yet he was nowhere to be found.

We saw the manager checking on other tables yet we weren't fortunate enough.

When our waiter finally came to clear the table, he noticed that I barely touched my plate and told he could prepare another one for me. He was surprised that I didn't want to eat alone the way my wife had just done.

He asked if we wanted desert and I replied "No, no no, absolutely not. Just the cheque" It was a reactionary response to my dinner yet I did feel bad because our neighboring table heard me. I thought afterwards that he had a lot of nerve asking this.

The waiter indicated that he removed my meal and handed me the bill. I was then a little disappointing that he charged us $10 for the water as well. I still gave him a tip, but closer to 10% than what I usually give.

I have found some of the best service I have ever had has been in NYC. This place has missed the target in an incredible way. Now, my expectations were high going into to this place, yet I was shocked and upset when we got the impression that we were ridiculed with bad service.

Our waiters name was Ifjal. If ever you go here, I would request to not be seated in his section.

Gordon Ramsay's more informal and less expensive restaurant in the London Hotel, located adjacent to the bar. Offers small, medium and large plates, or a $42 pre-theatre menu. Food is very good and inventive, but the combinations don't always work. Portions tend to be small.

Excellent restaurant, as to be expected, from Gordon Ramsay. I took Elizabeth here for her birthday. The service was exceptional. The appetizers were amazing. The wine list was impeccable.

This is a must visit for anyone in the area.

I can't disagree any more. It looks like you went there with the expectation it was going to be a Ramsay TV show and it wasn't. Chef Ramsay actually sold the restaurant to somebody else a while ago and even though they use his name and he is involved in some of the up keep, it is not managed or controlled by him.

If you had looked at their site they specify that you can choose between the 3 course menu or the 5 course. Going to a restaurant like that and asking for a specific dish because you saw on a tv show is a little bit naive.

You are definitely entitled to your opinion but it just looks like you had this "idea" in your head that was very different from what the reality was. I went there and loved it, no complaints whatsoever. Most reviewers will agree with me.

Unfortunately I was disappointed with this restaurant. The food is nothing special and whilst the place is very nice inside, it lacks any real atmosphere. I would have thought it had been a lot better considering Mr Ramseys reputation.

I had breakfast here with my wife and adult daughter. We found it extremely difficult to carry on a conversation as the server kept insisting on placing his entire body between us while clearing the table and serving new plates. The definition of rude.

Spectacular!!!!

Spectacular!!!!
My Spouse took me there for my 40th all the way from Toronto! I really wanted to find fault with something...you know Gordon Ramsey with his ego and all. Well, if I'm being honest, I could not find fault with one single thing. The service was perfection...special thanks to Miro, Farhad and Ifjal for making the special night even more special. We ordered the Scallops, Tuna tar tar and the Wellington, by far the best we've ever had...and we're foodies so we've been around! Words cannot express my gratitude to the staff at Maze, both front and back of the house. I will cherish my memories of my dinner at Maze. Thanks again!

Went twice during the restaurant week and for the restaurant week price, I thought the menu was great and the food tasted amazing. The establishment has a bit of a business lunch vibe, but the food is great and especially the desert. Highly recommend for anyone looking for places to go during the restaurant week.

gordon ramsey would do well to spend a bit of time to work consistency into delivery of the dining experience. we had the seven course meal and it blew us all away. each of the courses were layered with flavors, perfectly cooked, and presented beautifully. i found the preselected wine parings to be mediocre and could be improved. the service was choppy - great at times and fair at others. decor is overly subdued and could use more vibrancy.

I had such a good time. The staff was professional, the place was beautiful. Food was what I expected considering it was ramsays restaurant. Of course it is pricey but its definitely worth the treat.

I had high expectations for Gordon Ramsay's restaurant. I am a big fan and I know the high standards and high quality food he is known for. After my experience, I was very disappointed. The food fell flat. The salmon was under seasoned, dry and overcooked. My lamb was very tough to eat. I ordered medium but I got well done instead. Even the vegetables with our entrees weren't memorable. The staff was very slow and unenthusiatic. It took them 15 minutes to give us the check after we asked, when the place was nearly empty, and they used a dated credit card carbon copy swipe system. The food actually gave us a upset stomach after. For the price I paid, I expected so much more. Gordon Ramsay should be embarrassed of what they are representing his name with.

Gordon Ramsay is all hype. His food does not live up to its reputation. I can get a better steak in New York City for $50 then pay $250 pounds in his London restaurant. I had a dinner at his Hollywood restaurant a few years ago. It is now closed. It was absolutely the worst fkn meal I have ever had. I wouldn't have brought the leftovers for my dog.

This may have been the most memorably bad dining experience I've had in my adult life. Almost 5 hours to complete a decently executed but rather unimaginative and bland tasting menu. Waited almost 2 hours for the first appetizer which was a few small pieces of watermelon (with pits) mixed with a few tomato slices and no sauce or dressing I could taste. To be fair we were give a small shot of a watery truffle...soup was it?.....to hold us over during that 2 hour period while we ordered bottle after bottle of wine for our group to keep us from going nuts. When the first appetizer came it was 1 (as in ONE) scallop of medium size served on a plate over a tiny drizzle of I'm not sure what because it had minimal flavor. Then about an hour late came a very small.....picture 2 corks tied together sized piece of slightly overcooked and just dry enough to have missed it's mark fish balanced architecturally on a perch of I forget what. I was so ravenous at this 3 hour marked that I snarfed it down to fight off hypoglycemia without much consideration of what it tasted like. Then came the duck. One hour later. 3 coin sized slices of it. Actually quite good (if a bit cold but really.....who's going to send anything back at this point and risk getting shot by someone else at our table for holding things up). A decent sized plate of the this duck served warmer than room temperature might have made for a satisfying if somewhat uninspired entree at a good bistro. A small tasting at this point was more of a tease to emphasize the "yup....that's all you're gonna get" point that had already been firmly established as the evening's theme. Finally .....4.5 hours and 6 bottles of wine into things comes a small piece of too sweet, Splenda flavored chocolate cake that as hungry as I was I simply could not eat. Arrived at 6:30......left at 11:20 and went back to my room to eat some Kind bars I had lying around. Those were very good by the way.

The cocktails, the food, the cheese cart, the wine, the service...where so I begin? The complete dinig experience was perfect. Even though we had to wait a little for our table, we got yummy signature cocktails which seemed to keep the conversation interesting! We ordered a variety of things to share and I was particularly impressed by the pigeon, which fell off the bone and meltes in my mouth. The cheese plate and wine selections were equally impressive, as was the sommelier. A real treat if youare in London!

Maze was a bit of a disappointment. Food was good but not great. Service was absent and disinterested for most of the night (and we lingered for a long time with cocktails both before and after the meal in an otherwise desserted restaurant). Decor is muted and tasteful. Celebrity sighting made for a fun surprise. $20 wine and cocktails are probably better elsewhere (with more attentive service to boot).
