Love this place. Down to earth location for a straight workout

Excellent place from a sporting point of view but especially from a historical point of view given the celebrities who passed there (Schwarzy being the best known of all of course)!

A factory with champions BUT who accept and welcome "Monsieurs everyone"

Pretty cool place this is where Arnold Schwarzenegger workout , lots of history there.

Charged lee priest $180 to go there for a week? Ridiculous

My absolute favorite gym. Best people who are always motivating. Perfect atmosphere for my workout. This place has all equipment needed plus a lots of charm. No matter how my day goes every time I leave this place I feel great again.

Would give zero stars if I could! Absolute cheek! If you are not from CA, you pay $ 40 for a day ticket. For locals it is free for 3 days. Mecca or not, bodybuilding fans are just making money.

It was like a pilgrimage for us, not disappointed at all. Friendly staff clean facilities.

Staff was not very friendly to me ,like tey were to busy to show me how to use they're equiptment,, Nto Senior friendly.

Anyone who loves sport must have been there at least once! One of the most beautiful studios I've seen. The combination of the really old devices and the "new" hammer Strict, just perfect. In addition to the studio there is a small area for eating (with microwaves) and a small shop. The only small point of criticism is the price for a 1-day ticket.

Excellent in terms of both equipment and atmosphere.

Always amazing experience when I get a chance to train here. Make sure to have your camera ready always someone famous training here regardless of the time .

Normal Golds anywhere in the country is about $25 a month. This Golds is $70 a month. No problem because it is the best vib. The athletes and enthusiasm is insane but please. The staff and cleaning crew is non existent. Golds should be embarrassed!

First Gold's Gym, isn't for those looking for a High Rise Feel. The atmosphere is about the Workout, I love it, the Staff are very cool and am not afraid of a 'machine' that isn't from 2094, with clean everything and baby handles for all, Equinox is up the street, but paying 1,200 a month is a bit much I'd say.

Join Gold's, you'll be glad you did and the Price is amazing!

Come in early like I do at 4 am or late at night at 10 pm... it's there for you, and at least you're still in the game.

I witnessed Lee Priest being overcharged. He's one of the people who built the Gold's brand. I also feel as if their day passes are too expensive especially considering that lots of the equipment was dirty. I won't be coming back.

I live in San Diego I went to Los Angeles to this Gym just to take my girl the truth came out very happy comfortable comfortable with the happy place !!

From what I could see the gym look really good, and with all of the old photos on the walls would be a real motivation to train. The shop inside is well priced for the clothing. The huge down full is that I was told I couldn't train as I wasn't a local, which would be really good if they could change this

Great place to train and stay motivated no matter what mood you're in. The crowd can be a bit overwhelming at first, but you rapidly get used to it and may even end up liking it!

My second home, service is amazing .. people are great!!

It's a pretty cool experience to work out here with so many people that are serious about their gym time! It's pretty packed but if you're creative you can always find a way to do your workout!

The most iconic and historic gym in bodybuilding history. For an old gym the equipment was maintained very well. The 3 hours I spent here were unreal.

I went Sunday and it was full. For the tourist it costs $ 40 to do a training there for a day and 150 for a week.

An institution but at some point you need to upgrade a little. Feels very outdated. Sorry!

I've trained there for 22 years. It doesn't offer the towel service that other expensive gyms have but the variety of equipment and energizing atmosphere more than makes up for it. Great hours, friendly staff, excellent personal training and did I mention the energizing atmosphere?

Try to drop in here for a workout whenever I m visiting the LA area. Have for 15 plus years.

But now, at 40 bucks for a day pass...that s a hard no.

It s a good gym, but it s not anywhere near forty dollars good. Won t be back.

Equipment for days..... and good pieces too. We went in the afternoon. It was not crazy in there but, still have to wait/watch for equipment. All types of people. Would be better with a/c though.

What a SAD and Dirty gym it has become, MANAGEMENT needs to screen out the Clowns and Vandalists that he allows as gym members ... every other day or week EQUIPMENT IS OUT OF SERVICE OR BROKEN?!? My Husband and I pay More then enough every month regardless he is One of the Legends At golds and his Pictures are on the Wall .... not important at this time just a reference ... left notices and take pictures to show front desk but NO ONE cares
why does management allowes people that like to destroy equipment?!?!

Great gym and great atmosphere. Only thing is the ever increasing price for a weeks membership. My wife and I have been coming on holiday and visiting Golds for 6 years straight now. Sometimes twice a year. The last two visits have cost $150 each for a weeks membership. All we do is train there, no people watching or bothering anyone. It is now at a point where it is nearly not worth going out of principle for the money.

It always has been and will be the Mecca of Bodybuilding! if you pictures of my friends over the years. I've enjoyed training at gold's gym Venice since 2010. Nikko manages the store and is a great lady and true friend. If you get a chance go visit muscle Beach around the corner

This is my favorite gym in the world. This is where you find the right people, the right equipment and the right vibe for ultimate motivation.

The mecca of bodybuilding, very nice and big gym with great equipments but is too expensive, I paid 30 dollars for only one entrance, this is crazy!

I have been going to this gym for past 3 months now and my experience with this gym is great. I am specifically very happy with my trainer Juancho, I have been training under him for 2 months now and he is an excellent trainer. I was having issues with my forms for lifts and wanted to get some consultation decided to go with Juancho and it was the best decision I made. He is knowledgeable and full of life, his approach to workout is innovative and quite fun I must say. He always have different workout routines for me, sometimes its track, and sometimes lifts, mixing it up so that its always interesting.

Not crowded. Long open hours. Some of the equipment is getting old.

It's about 25 dollars American to visit just the one time. However the bodybuilding vibe and the history of this gym makes it completely worth the money.

Just visited and get wow when I saw the trainer and the way they were teaching.

Weights are scattered everywhere or left on machines...pretty much a MESS...don't know why they bother closing from midnight to 4...nothings being done!!! Such a shame...I competed iur of that gym :(

The world body building temple. 4 huge super-equipped rooms for all needs, from the normal person who wants to keep fit to the professional body builder. Classes of various sports activities are also held at set times. Open from early morning until late evening. Small shop with shirts, shakers and various branded gadgets. The single entry, for tourists who want to take away the whim to train there, is 25 dollars a day. Subscriptions are much cheaper.

A testosterone pit of inspiration. Coming from a high end Sports Center in New York, this place is a fresh breathe of grit and sweat that has a character all its own. You'll be surrounded by the best people in the world at what they do. No frills. You never need frills.

Loved it, could have been more well laid out if I'm honest. But that's only because it was rammed and I did not know where anything was lol. Great work out very friendly

The Mecca lives up to its name. Patrons are really friendly and the staff is nice as well. It s clean for a power lifting gym near the beach and the outdoor area is perfect. I love exercising outside, I feel like I recover faster with the fresh air.

Anyone is welcome here and despite the large number of cars in the lot I rarely wait for equipment even in busier times. I would recommend this place to people of all fitness levels but especially athletes or those with athletic goals it s a great place to learn passively or actively. I ve worked with a trainer a few times and he had brought me a lot of value. The base membership is affordable based on what you get, the hours, and whats available in the area.

Rip off $40usd for a casual visit, staff were rude when I asked if they had lockers or shelves to put my belongings in, ended up putting them behind the counter.

I had rated this gym 5 stars before. Because this is a bodybuilders gym and I m a bodybuilder duh tons of great equipment, great lighting for us social media people and always a great crowd. So no wonder I rated it 5 stars before, but after recent increases in membership fees and daily fees this gym just got tiny bit less appealing and lost a star. Daily pass is now $40! When only 4 years ago it was $15 and a year ago $25.

Charge a bodybuilding legend Lee Priest hundreds of dollars?? They have his freakin picture on their damn wall! Such a money hungry selfish act by the staff, they should be fired!!!

Reality and legend, two complete opposites. From the Mecca of bodybuilding only the dust. Staff apparently doesn't care about the meaning of working at Gold's Gym, why? Owners simply disregard the value of the trade marks. Worth visiting anyway if you are a bodybuilding "purist" and judge by yourself. Old school.

The staff there is so ridiculous and uninformed that they dont even know who the strongest man in the world is. They dont even know what a Strongman is. This is not a gym. This is a planet fitness with the Golds gym badge on.
