I liked the Golden Nugget best out of the big downtown casinos. And I like downtown better than the strip. The atmosphere is one big party that spills into the street and into the surrounding businesses. Make sure you take a moment to see the world's largest gold nugget.
The Golden Nugget has been beautifully remodeled. The location is downtown Fremont St. And the rates are good. They also have excellent entertainment I highly recommend!
This hotel still remembers the old Las Vegas days as I would imagine them. It has some unique gimmicks like the large golden nugget. They used to have a gold atm but I think it has been removed since my previous visit.
THE place to stay in Old Vegas. Their pool is second only to Mandalay Bay's and the place is a fantastic value ideally placed on Fremont. It's a very good casino and their staff are friendly and helpful. I've been a few times and if you're looking to save money by staying in Fremont, this is the place. If you need to stay in Fremont for convenience (easier racetrack access for NASCAR, etc) this is still the place.
Old place but it's really good Hotel and Casino, you can get a good service and it's safe and it's near to a one of the happiest places around the world,it's Freemont Experience
Vehicle was vandalized while i stayed at the golden nugget over the weekend. they provide a free valet service. You would think you vehicle is safe, apparently not. at dealership now trying to get repaired.
Cute, old hotel on Fremont. Recently renovated, worth the extra money to stay in Spa Tower instead of Carson or Rush. I booked 3 rooms for a conference. One was in the Spa Tower for my CEO, the other two were in the Carson Tower. Rooms were large in all the towers, but the Spa Tower, for only a little more, was grander. This is not the strip, but the cheaper room rates and hotel types reflect that.
Rooms were modern and clean, hotel Is clean in general. Hard to find a cheep drink in the hotel but you can bring your own ;-). Shark tank is cool. Won a bit at the slots. Would definitely recommend.
This place has good rooms and an awesome pool. There is a water slide where you can slide through a tank with sharks. The pool area is nice and the giant aquarium relaxing to watch. My room was great and the front desk most helpful.
Only thing I would complain about is the check in line is long however have noticed this at all casinos I have visited so be prepared to wait n bonus if you didn't have to. Nice spot, good staff, room lovely n good location in old Vegas
Beautiful hotel and Casino on Fremont St. The rooms are quiet, clean and nicely furnished. The casino is the cleanest one downtown. I prefer Fremont St. to the Strip and think this is the best option by far. It's a little more expensive, but totally worth it!
The registration for a room is packed all day Sunday. With early registration we were able to leave our luggage with the bell desk and got a text when our room was available. however instead of a premium King we had booked we got two smaller beds for my wife to sleep seperatly on. The front desk did not change our room to a king size. I was very unhappy about the accommodations and understanding. Regardless a credit of the resort fee and food voucher does not make up for the lack of proper customer service accommodations especially when you have to ask how the situation can be resolved. Overall the room is nice and try out the tequila restaurant by the pool- Margiratia Drinks and food is awesome there !
Lost my wallet...cleaning lady told me where she turned it in too...security called and said they didnt have it...I explain the cleaning lady brought it over...they called again and said "oh sorry we do have it'
I wish I could give ZERO stars. Our flight was cancelled coming out of Colorado. I called the hotel to alert them, as well as calling Expedia, where I booked. Expedia tried hard to help - but Golden Nugget completely refused ANY refund, not even a partial refund really. I even provided proof that our airline cancelled and refunded our flight due to weather. Terrible customer service - highly disappointed Golden Nugget!!!!
The hotel is magnificent to look at and full of fantastic restaurants to dine in. The shark tank is a sight to behold and the slide through it is astounding. Street access to the Fremont Experience is easy to find and provides a surplus of entertainment!
Staff have been great, but valet was a nightmare upon arriving, it's pretty smokey in the casino, and the water out of the tap smells funny. Games have been fun and play well, room is well decorated, hotel has some great sights and really well situated in Fremont.
A fun time was had here. Right in the heart of Fremont St. I love the large rooms, spa, and shows here. Bars and lounges here at top notch. Staff is very friendly.
The staff and everything were nice, clean place. You get a decent pool with some sharks... just no coffee machine or fridge in the hotel room, and sort of a lack of pillows. I'm sure you could ask for more pillows but . Otherwise a decent experience, not the best one you could ask for in Vegas, though.
Had a room booked here for an orientation class for work I was signed up for the following day in the Vegas area. Checked into my room on the 16th floor and when I opened the door, it smelled like someone had just set off one of those deodorizer bombs and shut the door within the last hour before I got there.. to top it off looking outside of the room window the building was backed towards the self park garage and o. The back side of the garage was another parking lot but at this time there was a tent setup for some dance club or something but they were blasting music soo loud that the bass of the music was making everything in the room shake, the windows, the a/c machine was vibrating, even is you played down on the bed it felt like the speakers they were playing the music on was under the mattress. Then I find a card on the nightstand that reads "Here's To A Golden Night's Sleep!" And just below that "complimentary ear plugs!".. what a joke!! My first time in Vegas and I would rather drive 2 and a half hours out of Vegas to Arizona to stay with a family member than to stay at the hotel. The music went on all night and I needed to drive 30 minutes away and be there by 7:30am.. and all I get is a "Welcome To Las Vegas!".. never again and I will steer clear of this place..
Clean room. Free 16.9 bottled water. Room service staff are nice and polite. Wish they have a coffee maker in the room though. Coffee at the restaurant is on the high side in my opinion ($4.75) for a 12 oz. And no it is not from Starbucks. Buffet selection is good and have lots to choose from and price is reasonable. We had the breakfast buffet at $15.99. Hotels gave us complimentary coupon. The chocolate box ice cream is good. The receptionists at the lobby are nice and pleasant.
I enjoyed my stay at the Golden nugget. The staff was friendly and courteous . I loved the buffet, for there was a wide verity of food. Above all I loved my room. After a long day of partying, and shopping, it was nice to have such a nice room to relax in.
Enjoyed our stay hotel portion was freshly renovated and comfortable. They do a good job of keeping things clean. Only complaint is ventilation in the casino area. Probably something that is difficult due to age of building. But I found the casino area to be very smokey it seems no matter where I played someone was nearby smoking and it seemed like thier smoke stream headed straight toward my face. If they could find a way to improve ventilation and keep the air conditioning down in the casino would be a big improvement.
This is by far the best and classiest casino in downtown Las Vegas. This place is the cleanest and nicest and also offers the nicest rooms, customer service and a amazing pool.
I m new to Las Vegas and a aspiring casino dealer. I hope to work here some day.
Golden Nugget screams glamorous from the street. The casino is very nice to spend time in, however the draw for me is to buy a day pass to the pool or spa area.
Great location and great rates. Loved staying here, as opposed to the Strip. Was able to walk right outside of hotel to Fremont Street. If you want to go to the strip, a quick 10 minute Uber or Lyft trip will get you there. The pool area was my favorite part. Awesome water slide for all ages and the aquarium in the middle was neat. Nice lounge area, as well. Two Starbucks downstairs in the casino, and one of them being 24 hours.
#1 of "Old Vegas - Especially "Fremont Street Area,4 Blocks in length, 6 Zip Lines above that run the whole length, Live big name entertainment E.L.O(Electric Light O) type music, Big name Country, you name it various types of music.
Beautiful lobby, clean room. Hotel staff was very friendly and welcoming. They have a gorgeous pool area with an aquarium and water slide built in. We upgraded from the Carson to the gold tower; never got to see the Carson tower, but gold was awesome. The parking wasn't too far away, and was free. Overall, very positive experience at the golden nugget.
The Golden Nugget is my favorite place by far. The employees are very nice and eat to have a conversation with. With it being right on freemont strdet you are right in all the action!!! Clean place as well
Did a stay-cation here with my friend and it was a great experience. During this week, Nevada was transitioning through several health protocols and I was really impressed with how well the staff adapted and remained extremely courteous. Only drawback was several power outlets not working in the room and no notice about coffee shop being closed for morning necessities. I spent almost the whole time at the pool, which is beautiful and fun! Looking forward to a longer stay next time.
Pretty awesome place although I must comment on something I found out the hard way. The main lobby of the Golden Nugget is NOT easily weelchair accessable. While most of the rest of the casino/hotel has ramps the main lobby does not. Luckily I am able to walk short distances so I was able to walk down the few stairs they have and had to have someone carry my chair down for me but for those who can't walk at all might be a problem. Overall tho it was a great place to stay.
The tank pool was amazing! I did not stay in this hotel but I went specifically for the tank pool. It was incredible to be able to swim along sharks and see them so closely. The slide was great. Blink and you'll miss how fast you went down it. We stayed for hours just relaxing and enjoying ourselves. Definitely my favorite activity while we were in vegas.
The room was large and spacious. It may be an older hotel, but you really wouldn't know it. The staff is so kind and friendly. Check in went quick and easy. The buffet was great, and out-classed some of Strips' buffets and with a better price. Air conditioning was amazing. Internet worked well. Parking was free and fairly convenient. The only thing lacking was our daily room housekeeping. We were out of our room for more than 8 hours and our room wasn't attended to. Nor did anyone ever knock or offer housekeeping. That was disappointing. Most everything else went smoothly.
The staff was very friendly during our whole visit. There is a great variety of food and entertainment options all in the hotel and casino. The shark tank pool is very cool and it's a great place to relax during your visit. Being right next to Fremont st. you are steps away from one of the most interesting places in Vegas.
Great place to stay. Affordable and right on Fremont street. Ziplining right out the front door. Plus a pool with a slide through a shark tank. Make sure you slow yourself down in the tube or you will miss the sharks.
Great place for the price but we could definitely hear everything from the people being.... romantic... in the room next to us. I don't need that kind of competition.
Really great experience at the Nugget for a quick one night stay on the back of a stay at the strip.
* We stayed in the Rush Tower. The room was modern, spacious, and clean. The bathroom was particularly nice
* Plenty of slot machines and tables
* Dining options are more limited than usual due to COVID, however there are still 4 or 5 on-site restaurants. We ate at Claim Jumper. Service was very good and the food, while not fancy, was tasty
* The pool area looks awesome with the backdrop of a tank full of sharks and large fish. We did not get the chance to swim but it looked like it was a blast
* I felt the GN did a solid job of spacing out the gamblers, cleaning machines, and attempting adhere to COVID-19 guidelines
One note: The Fremont street area vibe is always energetic. There is no apparent drop in number of people on Fremont now versus pre-COVID. So social distancing is pretty much out the window if you venture out to the Fremont Street experience.
