Not the largest buffet in Las Vegas, but everything was delicious & well-prepared. The prime rib was incredible, and I ate way more of the mashed potatoes and macaroni & cheese than I'd planned, because both were THAT good. I enjoyed the shrimp, too. And, the desserts were amazing as well! Our server was fantastically friendly & helpful... Neither my sweet tea nor water was ever empty. Plus, she and another server made sure we knew when the buffet was closing & we needed to make one last trip. The Golden Nugget offers a great dinner buffet at a great price!

Grotto bar drinks for the win! Best spinach dip we have ever had. Also find the 5 dollar black Jack tables away from the main tables. You get to spin a wheel if you get a black Jack. The whole table screams and it's great.

It was nice except the COVID 19 AMENITIES! Half the bars, half the stores half the games.... blah blah blah. It is nice for Fremont Street but it's not the Vegas experience with the pandemonium going on.

Fun place. Wish they had $5 tables Slots pay well at night depending on your bank roll. Some of the floor staff are rude, but just don't tip the snotty ones. Sports book has been the same forever could use an update/more space. Overall always a good experience on Fremont st

There are pros and cons about this place. The pool is awesome! The staff at the pool are awesome! The rooms were eh, beds and sheets were clean, the pillows are eh. The service at the check in counter was HORRIBLE they were rude. The attendant in the parking garage was rude. I was in my room when housekeeping came in and I told her she was fine to clean because I was on my way out (you would think she would clean correctly) she barely wiped down the bathroom, there was mildew in the shower, around the tub in all the cracks, it was gross. We asked for someone to come back and clean and no one ever came. We were suppose to have robes for the pool and there were none in the room, we called to get more and waited 45 min. The waiter at the Claim jumper restaurant was rude and the food was okay. They have a ridiculous "resort fee" that is suppose to include 2 waters a day and we never got them. Even though the pool was the best thing there we definitely would not stay there ever again. I definitely feel that it was a waste of money to stay there.

Las Vegas is a great place to just get away from the stress of life, and let your hair down. The GN is a nice place to stay. Its a historic casino built in 1905 with a very accessible location. Good food and Excellent service.

I was there from june 30th till july 4th. In the pool a small space for sharks. It was so sad to see many sharks and big fishes in such a small space. If you love animals dont go there. Also we have to wait always a lot of time for elevator even when they have a lot. You can only bring food of the restaurants of the hotel to the pool, if no you can not pass with other food. And finally they have charged me extra resort fees. When i arrived i talke with the only woman that talked spanish an she read the email of the third company. She talked with the manager and they decided not to charge it. My surprise is that on july 5th i have the charge. There are many hotels in Las Vegas, so dont risk!

This place has a great open casino floor with plenty of variety but bring the paper the machines are very pricey per spin but you get to have fun with the special effects and other interactive bonuses the games provide for hours of adult fun. There pool is very unique and is staffed very well to prevent accidents and incidents. A lovely jewelry store for the last minute anniversary gifts you know who you are y'all. So reserve a weekend today!

We always start our Vegas adventures in the Golden Nugget.

It's a classic old Vegas hotel, but they have kept it up to date for the most part.

Some of the rooms are a little dated, but they are clean and spacious.

If you are going to base yourself here, be prepared to spend money on Taxi's or Uber's or get familiar with The Deuce Bus to the strip.

It's solid it needs a better Rewards tracking for cards and explenation on howit done. I spent the better part of 20 solid hours playing tables and can't get a tshirt even.... possibly a self swipe feature or a cash scanner on the table like the slots to show payment.

Haven't stayed at Golden Nugget lately but they have many tiers of rooms to choose from. Overall, the casino leans towards upscale, having the majority of pricey shops and restaurants downtown. The pool itself is cool, but it's nestled inside the shadows of the many buildings of GN, which limits direct sunlight later in the afternoon. They try to maximize the number of people who can be at the pool by tightly packing chairs in, which contributes to the claustrophobic feel.

Most restaurants are not open yet the pool is open. Many kids, seemingly coming from the pool, were running around the casino. I have supported this casino frequently spending 400 dollars on the slot machines on average. Over the last two years, the awards have become very cheap and scarce and the machines are extremely tight. On machine where I played the max hit the bonus with 15 spins. I even hit free spins again for a total of 30 spins. It paid a total of 12 dollars and the max was 5 dollars a spin. With the amount of casinos in our area, this is extremely unacceptable. I will not be back for some time.

Wife and I were exploring Freemont street and checking out all of the casinos. We stopped by the Golden Nugget to check out the biggest Gold Nugget in the world. VERY COOL! Hotel lobby was clean even though it was very busy and the hotel pool with the shark water slide was also really cool looking. Employees were also polite and attentive.

We could not have loved our stay more.
We wanted to see real Vegas, a relaxing weekend, great food, and a deal! This is what we got.
Pros...
pool with towels provided and waterslide through shark tank!
amazing restaurants right inside- including the Italian place and famous steakhouse!
excellent rooms for incredible prices. I had a tv in my bathroom mirror but saved enough for a helicopter ride in the grand canyon. (costs the same as hotel staying home in my non tourist town).
amazing room service- try the chicken pot pie and chocolate cake!
historic and right off Fremont street!
spa access included with club resort rooms, and the spas was perfect.
no need for transportation from/to airport or activities-provided.
starbucks inside.
lots of sovereign shops and zipline within walking distance.
gift basket options
great service

Cons?...
not near the newer more expensive parts of town strip where the shows are, but you can get a free or private ride no problem.
make sure you get a smoke free room and avoid casino if smoking bothers you. I'm allergic but was able to avoid it pretty well.
wasn't a fan of the buffet breakfast.
people say there are a lot of homeless people around? i didn't see any and no one bothered us. that was a problem near Cesar's palace etc. actually.

The Golden Nugget Las Vegas Hotel & Casino located downtown is y far the best casino and hotel on Fremont. The gambling area is a bit crowded at the Golden Nugget Las Vegas Hotel & Casino but not so much as to take away from the experience. The facilities that we used at the Golden Nugget Las Vegas Hotel & Casino were all top notch.

I had such a blast here! The old strip is so much more fun than the new strip, Fremont Street has tons of cool stuff to check out. It's less expensive to eat, the tables aren't as packed, and it was a more relaxed environment. The hotel was okay, they messed up our room arrangements but not a huge deal. The pool was closed for the season but I'll be back to swim in it!

Beautiful hotel and rooms. I booked a room in the gold tower and 3 rooms in the rush tower for my clients and they loved their rooms. Buffet was great. Staff was very nice. Will recommend to my travel clients.

So classy but super inificient. Tried to check in at 445 and after waiting 49mins had to rush to a meeting. Came back at 930pm to check in and waited in line for 40mins. Line ups at elevator regularly and no pool chairs by 10am.

We went during St. Patrick day to this place and it was packed. Lucky my parent and I found a spot to sit since there was tons of people. This place allows to smoke and due to many people being there and smoking. It was hard for me, as an asthma person, to breathe. It like the place did not have any ventilation to circulate the smoky air. After we left this place, I had lost my voice and had a super asthma attack. Not worth it to go on a busy day with someone with asthma problems.

This place has good rooms and an awesome pool. There is a water slide where you can slide through a tank with sharks. My niece and nephew loved looking at the sharks. The only problem I had was getting the room I was in cleaned when I asked for an emergency cleaning after kids had a water fight in the room while no one was looking.

Best hotel and casino downtown! The family will love the pool, water slide, and shark attraction. Good prices but book early around special events, concerts, and conferences because they sell out fast. Only drawback is the noise but it can't be avoided if you stay anywhere near the Fremont Street Experience.

The wort place I've ever stayed at. They charged me over $30 for resort fee to cover parking and the swimming pool. I did not have a car and the pool was closed for construction. Terrible customer service. And not a pretty crown that stays there. More like a down and out Transit hotel.

Very nice place and it seems to pay off more than the rest of them or at least I have good luck there and nobody bothers me I like it a lot they also have a Great Buffet and I love the fish tanks LOL I wonder if they'll ever let me go fishing I'd be happy being thrown to the sharks then I could eat one LOL

One of the somewhat cheaper hotels in Vegas, right on Fremont street which was nice. The bathrooms didn't lock and my door was accidentally left open by me and a ton of my stuff was stolen, that was my fault but it would have been helpful if there were any cameras in the hallways

Just checked in. Room overlooks roof ac and wall just bothers me when I see they are at such a low occupancy and couldn't even offer a decent view not even an upgrade. Also ac is incredibly loud

It's nice! That's one of the older hotels on the strip I kind of thought that it would be a little bit run down but it seems like they must have renovated because I would put the Nugget up against any other major Hotel on the strip. I didn't make it into the pool but you can see it while wandering around and it looks like they have a water slide that goes right through there giant shark tank so what I had a bit more time I definitely would have spend some more time inside.

Large homeless population outside and down most of the street on both sides. Didn't feel safe walking from the parking lot to the building. Old outdated and the food in the buffet was awful. Small selection and definitely was not worth it.

GOLD TOWER REVIEW: Room was large & had been recently remodeled bed was extremely comfortable with fine cotton sheets. The bar scene and the restaurants were exceptional as was lounging by the pool! I don t gamble so can t speak on the casino but it looked busy.
Con:
They could ve had more staff available for check in the line was the equivalent of going to the Six Flags roller coaster.
