Golden Coast Hotel Review

Great hotel. One of the best fours in which they rested.
Check-in. Issued in 5 minutes. There is a good compliment in the room - soft drinks, beer, sweets.
Room. We took the superior comfort. Everything is standard in the room - a large single bed. What pleases me is the length of 2 meters. A folding bed and a cot, a long table, a small table, two armchairs and a pouf. What was pleasantly surprised - sockets with once with usb connectors and a dryer on the balcony. Little things, but very comfortable. It is also worth noting the excellent soundproofing of the rooms, including from outside music.
Cleaning. Not a strong point. Between a four and a three. There is dust under the beds. The shower gel was added only after contacting the reception.
The territory of the hotel. Super! Very nice, many colors, clean and well maintained. You can drive with a stroller.
Nutrition. We took all inclusive. The restaurant is comfortable. You can always find a table. Drinks - wine, good juices - apple, orange, pineapple, cola, sprite, etc. Tea and coffee always.
The food is of high quality. For lunch and dinner, there is always fish, beef, pork or lamb, chicken or turkey. The selection of side dishes and salads is also sufficient. Fruit is always watermelon. For dinner there is a melon and once a week a cherry. Peaches or apricots. This is not a Turkish luxury, but it always turns out good and varied food. Very rich breakfasts. I would also like to note the welcoming waiters! They helped us a lot with a small child. Special thanks to Rumyana and Konstantin for a really sincere attitude!
There are three bars: by the pool from 10 to 18 - it also has ice cream and snacks, near the stage and the piano bar are open from 18 to 22. All inclusive includes a dozen alcoholic cocktails, soft drinks, coffee.
Beach. This is the main property of the hotel! Very suitable for a small child. Clean sea. No waves. Sand. Sun loungers on the sand - this is a municipal beach - it is paid. But across the footpath there are three tiers of sun loungers and umbrellas on the grass - this is the hotel's territory and sun loungers are free. Towels can be borrowed from the spa in the morning. Beach in a bay bounded by breakwaters. There is a very interesting snorkeling reef in the center. Lots of fish. Large crabs. We saw an octopus twice.
And I would like to separately note the animation. The guys work with soul. Nice mini discos. And four days a week a very talented pianist plays in the piano bar in the evening. Excellent improvisations on the themes of classics and famous hits. A lot of Russian music.
There are also bus stops right next to the hotel. You can get to the aquarium or to the Cavo Greco National Park for 1.5 euros per person.
In general, this is a very good place for a vacation with a small child!

Poor service by some members of staff. Be careful !!

Room was clean and comfortable but having to stay in the annex away from the main hotel and therefore having to walk lots with a baby seemed a poor allocation of room. Pool was big and plenty of sun loungers available however the pool itself was looking a little tired. Drinks for non all inclusive guests were ridiculously expensive. Food offering on half board was excellent... the moussaka was one of the best I have had on island. Staff pleasant and helpful.Overall, an enjoyable stay and I probably would return in the future.

Perfect little place, basic rooms but the outside is perfect

A fresh and nice hotel in a very good location!
We stayed here for a week at the end of October in a Superior Room and had All Inclusive.
The room was large, fresh, clean and comfortable beds.
Upon arrival, a welcome basket with drinks and Cypriot sweets and a large bottle of water awaited! Very nice reception!
Safety box, central AC (manual setting), hairdryer (bathroom and room), kettle, coffee machine and capsules, coffee, tea and sweets that were refilled as. Comfortable beds.
Normal cleaning, new towels daily, linen changed once a week! Very good WiFi!
Discovered quite quickly that we were visited by a relative of the cockroach at night in the bathroom, which is apparently quite common in Cyprus. (Never happened to them on our previous trips to other hotels in Cyprus) We then left the light on in the bathroom at night and pushed down the "plops" to drains in bathtubs and sinks, then we avoided visits from these cousins.
Otherwise a fresh hotel with good seating areas, evening entertainment, kids club. Plenty of activities for everyone and a very nice Animation Team!
The food was ok but no more, the best was the breakfast! Overall a lot of pasta dishes. Bad with vegetables and salads. Small selection to choose from between meals. All drinks were served in pumps. Very loud at all meals, partly because they used "food carts" (for all dishes and leftovers) that were placed between the tables.
The hotel wins in its fantastic location, nice beach below and several floors with sun loungers and lots of greenery. The pool was perfectly okay, however, a lot of sand because you got directly up to the pool from the beach.

Pernera, Fig Tree Bay, is a very nice place that is a little quieter and invites to relax. Child friendly! More speed and fan can be found in Aya Napa.
What lowers the rating from four to three in an otherwise very nice hotel depends on the meals! It was more All Inclusive Economy than normal All Inclusive. As well as the food carts that created an unnecessarily high level, especially when the staff was tired.

We were fortunate enough to stay at Golden Coast Beach Hotel for our friend s wedding this week. From arrival to departure the staff have made us feel treasured and welcome. The Hotel cleanliness is excellent. The food is lovely. Good selection and fresh every sitting. The location is just magnificent, a two minute stroll to the beach. The animation team are amazing too. Our children felt welcome and included always. The wedding was just perfect and enjoyed by the whole group. As a family we could not fault any part of the trip, the hotel or its staff. Particularly Elena and Stelios, what wonderful people who went out of their way for us as a family at every opportunity. It was our 6yr olds birthday and they made him a beautiful cake!

We are here now, and so much is good. It is a quiet pool area, close to the beach, mostly good staff and very good food. In short, this is what you can expect. As most other reviews say, it is a bit worn, cost for wifi (15 euros for 7 days) and extra cost for refrigerator. But I'm very happy anyway.

Famous Cypriot beach with clear waters and excellent environment

Very helpful and friendly staff and a cozy pool/beach area. The rooms needs to be renovated thou.

Great place to stay with children. Sandy beaches, swimming pools for both children and adults. The place is very calm and quiet. Evening children's disco and programs are very interesting. The food is very tasty and varied. Public transport nearby. I think that I have already found my permanent place in Cyprus. I recommend families with children.

Loved our time here and will be planning to go back!! The staff are all very welcoming, friendly and helpful and there is always somethinf going on in the way of entertainment, perfectly placed in a bay beautiful views, marina with boat trips just in the marina next to it, bus route right past it into ayia napa and protaras, loved every minute of our stay!!

We were looking forward to this holiday. After the first look in our room we would have preferred to leave again. It was just dirty and very unhygienic. After we contacted our tour guide at least our bed was changed. The next day the tour guide came to our hotel and we told her our problems .. unfortunately without understanding ... she said it was a mistake with the room. We wanted an immediate return flight or another hotel. That would have been priceless. So we had to stay here.
Then we were allowed to change the room. That was as terrible as the other one.
At the end we can say who wants relaxation is definitely wrong. The food is mostly cold. At the buffet, there are only scrambled and geschupse.

Only on the spot since 3 days.
Everything is as indicated by the travel agency.
We are looking forward to the next 10 days.

Fantastic hotel shame about the food okay if you like chips or pasta no potatoes jackets rock hard unbeatable

The views are amazing and the surrounding restaurants are great but the experience at the hotel in not 5 star. The rooms need an upgrade desperately and staff in general could use a refresher course in hospitality. love the welcome bowl of fruits though.

Had our wedding here wow what an experience from start to finish this has been the perfect holiday from meg who coordinated it who was amazing to the cleaners all were just brilliant only hiccup was on our all inclusive upgrade when things were running out at first however stock was quickly replenished and manager reimbursed us 2 days money so can't really be fairer than that we couldn't recommend it highly enough. The mama Leone restaurant was worth the upgrade alone and is free to all who upgrade and food is amazing also there is plenty sunbeds for everyone great atmosphere all around can't wait to go back also a couple pictures of wedding venue at hotel

Not to my taste, clean but dated rooms, not the best selection of food on offer, no atmosphere, seems to cater more for wedding parties, nice where situated, I personally would not recommend

Lovely hotel .... however no greek tradition here . Very disappointed . Was there for 10 days on my honeymoon no one congratulated us nor cared . When tstating where on our honeymoon they said the restaurant hotel would put a candle on the table , however they did that standard anyway. Not much around . If looking for a hotel close to shops please avoid if looking just to relax and don't care if it has any greek tradition great hotel . Lol

Nice hotel with small flaws, friendly staff and good food

Best vacation ever!! - I'm traveling a lot but i never had such a good vacation. It was so good so we even extended it for few more days!! We've been here in April for an All-inclusive vacation. The staff in this hotel are more family the staff they will take care of everything you are missing! The food is amazing (They make awesome Pinacolada! The rooms are big! The location is good, on the beach and 10-15 min walking from Protaras. The entertainment at night is really nice also.

Few bad things, When i was there in the begging of April it was extremely windy, so it was not the best for those who wanted to get tan. The GYM is OK but the big problem is that there is no air conditioner.

I will defiantly advice to go their!

Wide calm beach. Sand. Convenient entrance to the sea. Infrastructure.

Great family hotel, nice, good child care, but the best part is the location. Although a bit out of the way but quiet and extremely relaxing. The solo entertainer at the dinner is terrible but somehow funny. Were here three times in a row. Unfortunately, popcorn at the bar for children is missing. Audience very international.

Great hotel with a nice beach and good restaurants nearby.

We stayed here in October 2017 and it was hot and sunny for the whole stay. The all inclusive was lovely and the range of cocktails on the beach bar was amazing the pool was great but limited opening times on the slide wasn't very convenient. I enjoyed eating lunch over the Mediterranean and the many activities like paragliding rental pedalo slides and jet skis were all very reasanbly priced and I would highly recommend going on a boat trip. It was also ideal for snorkelling.

Nice hotel, not fancy, the staff are lovely and very serviceable, the location near the close and quiet beach is an advantage but the rooms themselves are a bit old, the basic answer, regular buffet meals

The beach is very small, the rooms were quite good. Only Russian guests. The food was not bad, but not particularly. Fruit is very poor. Also the evening program is nothing special.

Really nice hotel if you have a family I had really bad toothache at the time and asked reception for details of the nearest Dentist and they put the call out for a Dentist to pay a visit to the hotel to give me medical advice quite quickly and after verifying my medical insurance documentation arranged for transportation to collect me to take me to a Dentist appointment at the local Dentist which I think is absolutely remarkable which saved me from a lot of pain trying to find a Dentisg in a foreign country where I diddnt speak the language. Therefore I would HIGHLY recommend this Hotel for hospitality and their facilities which my family and I found was fantastic.

Booked here as part of a group, arriving just as the hotel was opening up post Covid-19.

One of the principal reasons for booking was the offer of a kids club; something we enquired about and were assured, in writing, would be available. Lo and behold, on arrival, nothing. And, whilst we recognise and appreciate the difficulties Covid poses, there was no communication as to this omission prior to arrival. The irony being that it was absolutely fine for all families to mingle at other activities and in the pool...

Key theme has to be the staff. The gentlemen amongst the waiting and entertainment staff could not be more helpful or friendlier. However, the ladies were rude, aggressive and dismissive. Woe betide you if you try to get a piece of toast in the morning, or enter the cold buffet area via the (unmarked) exit door... Again. Communication people.

But it goes beyond that. Phoning down for the porter, who never appeared; then told should have phoned again, only for the reception staff to admit they had no idea where the porter was and they couldn't reach him. Being denied service at the bar because we were about to sit for dinner in the restaurant; only for our friends, sat with us in the restaurant, to be served minutes later. Going for lunch, and the waiter forgetting to take our order; to be fair, he was busy with rearranging the deck chairs and chasing the disappearing chef.

I think for us what topped this place off has to be the very petty, or lack of attention to, details. Things like the children's beds not being made (just a sheet folded in half and smoothed over the mattress), or the fact that ordering lunch could take anything upto 1hr (when we were the only ones in the restaurant). I also was not a fan of the Cypriot couples who seemed to think it was OK to indulge in some intimate acts in the pool... Right in front of the lifeguard. And children.

Personally, despite the good quality of food and the friendliness of some of the waiting staff, the rooms, facilities and ambiance are not as advertised. Definitely a 3* resort, with poor customer service the defining feature.

Fabulous staff ( bar one ignorant and rude older female Jenny who sounds British), good food and great location . The Spa is off limits as it is far too expensive so you have no access to the indoor pool which is not free as advertised. The outdoor pools are great though they can't seem to keep the sea side part clean from sand and they never clean around it which is a shame. Outdoor areas are mostly never swept except where you don't normally go! The pool is not filtered and the water is not changed so is polluted with suncream. Do not get any in your mouth. Rooms are clean but watch out for tiny ants that get into food and clothes. They are a nuisance. Very little around the hotel so be prepared to travel to get around and shop. Google maps don't have street view so navigation is a bit difficult unless you download a local map. WiFi at the hotel is ok in the foyer but patchy elsewhere and keeps going off. One night I managed, the stream some Netflix though! Telly is in English but nearly all news channels so perhaps don't bother.
Food is decent except on the Greek/Cypriot might as there are no decent desserts served except traditional fayre too hard to eat. Main dishes containing meat are often well overcooked. I agree with a previous post where they say the Syrian/Lebanese night was good. It was but it only happens every two weeks .
The place is a bit tired but would be hugely expensive to fix. Maintenance issues only need a couple of members of staff and organisation to make happen. The sand on the steps to the beach is so bad, there will be a serious accident soon and they will be sued big style.
Weekends, they place is invaded by locals. Last Sunday, 26 sunbeds were being used by folks with no wrist bands. They are loud, smoke heavily and very boisterous. Often, the staff give them free drinks and alcohol if you watch closely - so we paying guests subsidise freebies for them. There is no security to stop them.
Did I mention that you have to be quick if you want a peach to eat. Our Russian friends seen to love them. They will usually take a plate with a dozen or more and then fill their bags with them! This happens every day at event meal - they are not keen on plums though. This hotel is heaven if you like plums.
The restaurant staff are great with a friendly smile and greeting. They are all to be commended.
All in all a decent hotel and would maybe stay again when things improve. no

Great place, everything was good except the high volume of entertainment.
Perfect family hotel.

Great hotel for families with children. Swimming pool for all age groups. The bar is right by the pool. The territory of the beach with good sand and bottom. You can swim for small children without problems. The bay protects from waves. If you swim a little, then there is a corral shallow where older children can reach the bottom and look at underwater landscapes. The kitchen is excellent. There is a possibility, then take All, you will not regret for sure. Evening programs, live music, children's animators - all at a good level. The interior of the hotel is good, it will go, I will not describe - because sit on the numbers there is not necessary. The hotel is not far from the turbulent life, but removed a few kilometers, but this is rather a plus.

We had a wonderful holiday at the Golden Coast Hotel. Unfortunately, many rooms and facilities are a bit outdated and dusty. Especially the indoor pool in the spa does not work. The outdoor area is a bit neglected on some corners. The public areas like the lobby or the restaurant look good; they are probably renovated. At dinner you need strong nerves: The live music is a bit ... experimental. And you should be careful that one of the (very cute) cats does not steal anything from the plate. The hotel itself is quite out of the way and off the beaten track, but there is a bus that runs around the clock to Protaras and Ayia Napa. That sounds a bit negative, but the holiday was beautiful. The staff was extremely friendly and went out of their way to make our stay more enjoyable. There are exceptions everywhere. A rock-solid holiday hotel!

Hotel very nice, very nice view, clean, wide choice of food, cons a lot of tourists from the eastern country and English so if you are in family with children speaking only French, they will feel a little lonely.

The room had a leaking toilet and the air conditioning was very lound we coundn't sleep well because it was to hot to turn off the air condition that disrupted our sleep. The frigide didn't keep the bottles cold. The floor was disgusting and they said they would clean it but when we came back we found the same poped ballon from before they had cleaned it. But when we complained to the reception the duty manager Antonis a lovely young man looked after us with a new room that was much more comfortable and clean. The staff were very hospitable. I would highly recommend the service at this hotel.

I will rate this hotel 6/10. Old building, pool nothing special, rooms nice, location ok, breakfast the worst i had, they charge fresh orange juice and coffee at breakfast and i wonder which 4 stars hotel does that? Rude staff at breakfast especially the manager. Sum up, overpriced for the service and the facilities of the hotel. This hotel needs serious renovation.

Compliance with covit-19 protocol, comfortable controlled parking next to the hotel. Well-kept rooms, the fridge is for maintenance and not for cooling, friendly staff and service.

A truly amazing hotel for families with young children! Also lovely for older folks just wanting a relaxed, comfortable, worry-free holiday without the fuss of Protaras or Ayia Napa. It's just perfect!

Cleanliness in the room and hotel. Fresh, tasty and varied food in restaurants. High-quality and unobtrusive housekeeping. Minus-cold water in the pools.

Absolutely lovely staff and hotel in general, our stay was filled with enthusiasm, joy and entertainment throughout, I would 100% recommend this beautiful hotel to anyone.

The place is beautiful, the food is delicious, the hotel staff are great. The hotel is old but well maintained, clean and tidy.

Staff are friendly the rest is unfortunately lower average.

Great location and wonderful view. Close to the supermarket and bus station, steps away.
Beautiful sandy beach and spacious pool with a cosy pool bar.
Food was good especially the omlet station.
A good entertainment programs with a great team (Zak, Youri and Thea).
The only bad thing was the cleanliness of the room, but the command was processed after reviewing the reception.
I would recommend it anyway.

The rooms need to be renovated and everything will be super, there is no place to go out in the evening, only restaurants, shops are nearby, but then the dinners are just awesome! Take HB you will not regret!

Mama Leone's restaurant is amazing the food is top class and the service excellent.

Family hotel on the first line, the sea and the beach are clean, the area is well-kept. Polite staff, speaking mostly in English, but at the reception there is a Russian-speaking girl. What surprised and pleased from the very beginning, arrived late at night, there were sandwiches left in the room, the staff works for guests and it feels. The cuisine is varied and there is a choice, although some dishes are specific. For children there is a program. Downstairs shop with souvenirs if you do not want to go anywhere. A good place for families with children of different ages, honeymooners and friends. In my opinion, elderly couples who are seeking silence and solitude or are not lonely here.

I visited Mamma Leone restaurant which attached to the hotel. Its a quite and provides quality food. Service is excellent and very friendly. Trust me Its hard to be disappointed there and I know food very well.

Stayed twice. Once with kids and once without. Very accommodating staff.

Resort is nice, food is very standard (dessert's just taste of artificial cream) very family oriented, the animation team were amazing (especially Alex) for my young boys. The Beach is lovely. I would say a very good 3 star not a 4 star hotel, hotel is lovely downstairs but rooms and food let it down a little.

Good hotel to stay, including family. The first line, the beach, swimming pools, restaurants inside and on the terrace, spa, fitness center, all sorts of fun. Pleasant staff everywhere, constant housekeeping. The rooms have USB sockets, so there was no need to look for adapters for charging.

No information about anything at the hotel. Seems to cater for German clients and all inclusive customers. Breakfast was a sad experience with a lack of choice and questionable quality. Although several restaurants are advertised we are not told that only the buffet restaurant is included on half board.
