Michael and Christian did a great job at my property today fixing a shower drain pipe that was leaking into the crawlspace. They did an excellent job identifying problem and explaining what they needed to fix. In addition, crawl space was very tight but they managed very well. They also did a great job with the clean up. I would highly recommend Mike and Christian for any plumbing job.

It has been a very bad experience for me in terms of what I paid for and what they do. They are 3 to 4 months late on the semi annual check ups of my HVAC equipment. They spend the least amount of time on the common sense maintenance that is included In my package and they constantly upsell unneeded services that are overpriced vs other companies. I will not be renewing after these 3 years expire
They did fabulous work for me connecting my house to the public sewer line that was about 1,000 feet away from the house. They had to go through a creek to do it, and they were able to do that too. They worked well with the EPA/DEP and township construction officials, and did everything with the proper permits and inspections. I am extremely pleased with the work that Gold Medal did for me - excavating the trench with a backhoe, laying the sewer line itself, and getting me connected to the public sewer. Thank you, thank you, thank you for the high quality work that you do!

Bunch of crooks. I had an appointment to have a toilet installed in my home. I had purchased the new toilet, and it merely needed to be installed in place of the old.
The published rate for this service was $550.00 ! The service tech was knowledgeable, and super nice, but he referred to his Ipad, of "published" rates, and said the price for this service was $550.00. The tech admitted to me it was at most 1.0 hour of work... I asked him if his labor rate was $550.00 an hour, he said no, the rates are by service type... So $550.00 to install a toilet I had already purchased... NO THANKS...
Follow up is that Home Depot offered the install for $185.00, which is high, but at least in the realm of being competitive.. In the end a "local" plumber came, and did the job for $115.00, it took him a whole 40 minutes...
Gold Medal may be big, serve a large area, but beware, their prices are outrageous... Im debating whether to make a complaint with agencies that handle these types of crooks...

Ed and Al were a pleasure to work with on our recent project. We had a full house generator installed. They were courteous, considerate and very thorough with the work they performed. My experience has always been positive working with Gold Medal.
Initial time 2p-6p. Received a call at approximately 3pm that it would be closer to 6pm. Only after calling them, I was told it was switched to emergency status and would be from 8pm-10pm. Waited until 8pm, then called them again only to learn it was now 830pm to 1030pm. If you don't have the personnel and can't do the job, admit it and inform the customer. This is how you run a business???

My house waste line was backed up, so I called this company and was told the cost $299.00 plus tax, I agreed and they came over after about an hour. They looked at the line and determent that the cos now is $650.00 plus tax. They got me , had no choice with the sewer all over the basement floor. BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY. They completely overcharge for jobs and have the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I had to call five different departments to get in contact with someone who could answer my billing question. They also do not give you your deposit back if you cancel a job and will tack it onto your bill!!! Don t waste your time with them!!

The service was extremely poor . on 2 occations. Because of the name change we called the second time with out realizing its this company.
About 2 months ago we had a service man to repair. He did not resolve the issue ,changed some parts ( which was not necessary) but the problem not resolved. Yet billed $1300 plus. Called back the office to report it is not working, they did nothing but had an attitude. However it was repaired by somebody else for just $125 .
The last time they changed some pipe( which was not necessary) and charged $800 plus!!!! Hope no one else get this type of overpay ...Be carefull.
Call someone else! Dispatcher gave a 4 hour window for same day service for an electrician. The electrician canceled 3 hours into my wait time. Dispatcher was unaware of his cancellation. Then, I was rescheduled for the next day between 8-12 - received another phone call 3 hours into my wait time, stating the electrician was in route and would be a few minutes after 12. Still a no show - finally, the electrician called at 1:50 to say he would be about another hour. I said, "No Thank you". This company does not deserve my money or yours. Call someone who wants to work, who is punctual and holds good character.

My parents had an emergency of no heat in their house and called this company to come out. They stated that the gas valve on the boiler had to be replaced and quoted my parents $1,000 and also told them that there may be other issues that are discovered after. As an FYI to all, a gas valve costs about $50.
I called a friend who sent another boiler mechanic over. Our mechanic told us that the wiring to the thermocoupling needed to be replaced, and the circulator pump also needed to be replaced. Only wanted to charge us for materials ($300). Heat was on and has stayed on since. He actually displayed to us that there was no issue at all with the gas valve.
Do your research and always get two or three quotes. A lot of these companies will try to rip you off when they know you re pressed against a rock and a hard place.

They trained us on the system before they departed. They completed the work on time and left the job site clean. Gold Medal Service offered a "triple play promotion to inspect the hot-water heater, furnace and HVAC for $69.00. We originally called to schedule on October 28, 2017 and their first available date was November 27. Then Gold Medal canceled that appointment and rescheduled for December 11. When they came to the house, the technician, Tom Ciaccia, inspected the hot-water heater first and then the furnace. He said he was not going to inspect the HVAC system, due to it not being summertime. I explained to him that it also had a heat pump and we use it when it is extremely cold outside. He did not realize that because we were using the baseboard heat at that time. He then proceeded with his inspection.
After he completed his inspection, he said everything was working fine. He then tried to up-sell us a "total care club plan" for $299 per year and "enhancements" on our existing equipment and offered us a replacement hot-water heater.
After he left, we noticed that the thermostat that controlled the HVAC batteries died the next day. We replaced them 4 times. I figured that the technician forgot to turn the air handler back on in the attic when he did his inspection. Since we only use that system when it is extremely cold, we didn't think much of it. We use our furnace with our cast iron base board heat our home most of the time. Then New Jersey got hit with the "bomb cyclone" and temperatures dropped to below 10 degrees.
On the night of Friday Jan 5th, I went into the attic to see if there was power to the air handler. There was no power and the switch was turned on. I then went down into the garage to see if the breaker was in the on position. It was in the tripped position. I turned the breaker on and it tripped again. On Monday Jan 8th we called Gold Medal to schedule a tech to come out and see what happened. They sent a technician (Eric) out on Wednesday January 10 and after he looked at the system, he told us that he would need to come back out to perform troubleshooting and charge us $391.
I told them that was not acceptable. Gold Medal caused the damage and I was not about to pay to fix their mistake. He said I would need to speak to his manager Robert . I called Robert two times and he never returned the call. The receptionist then put me through to their director of operations Steve Closs. I left a message with him and shortly after I had a return call from Sarah. I explained the above situation to her and she began to tell me that my system was 10-years old and that it was in poor condition. I told her that the system is not 10-years old, and it was working before their technician performed his evaluation. (Our system was installed in April of 2012). She then started to blame me for the damage and that I should have called them the next day. I then tried to explain to Sarah again that we do not use this unit for our primary heat and had no need to turn it on unless it was extremely cold, like this past weekend. She then offered to refund the $69 fee because I was not happy and part ways. I once again told her that it was not acceptable, I want them to come and repair what they broke.
She continued to refuse to accept their mistake and repair our system. I wish I would have read the reviews online prior to scheduling them to service our unit. She said that Mitchell from customer resolutions will call me tomorrow and not to do anything until I speak to her.
January 11th, Mitchel called. Explained to her again in detail what happened. She only offered to refund the service fee visit and did not offer to repair the damage caused by their technician. She forwarded me the details and work log of the service visit and there are no notes saying that the unit was not functioning properly. I pointed that out to her and pointed out that I received quotes to add new features to my HVAC system and no mention of anything non-functioning that needed repairs. She still refused to accept their mistake and said that the service manager, Robert, would call me. He still has not called.
Based upon a recommendation from a friend of mine, who had used Gold Medal a # of times, I called and made an appointment. A young man named Ian came at the promised time, and simply could not have been more professional or informative or helpful. I had a # of plumbing questions, and peppered him with one question after another. "Why is this happening?", "what about this?", "is this weird thing happening over here connected to the plumbing down in my basement?", and on and on. I can't imagine how he could have done a better job. He was consistently patient and informative, and after he left, I finally felt equipped to make informed and deliberate decisions about a # of plumbing problems/issues in my old house. There is no question that I will turn to this company again. I recommend them without reservation.

Where do I begin? From the friendly Consultant that scheduled my service to the friendly GM Joe. From start to finish this company gets 5 stars from me(If you had 10 they'd get that!) I called for a clogged/stopped up sewer line in my house. They immediately said they had an opening from 12-3. The crew called and let me know they were on their way and gave me an approximately time of arrival. Scott & Zack arrived within the allotted time window that was promised. They put on their protective booties and asked where the basement was. I showed them and they immediately got to work. They located the problem and rectified it within about 45 minutes time. Zack & Scott were GREAT! Not only did they know their job well, they told a few funny stories of past jobs and were easy to talk to and with. They put everything back together and cleaned up before they left. I highly recommend Gold Medal to any of my friends or family. They are tremendous!!

I booked service through Home Advisor and received confirmation email and text for the appointment. My wife took the day off of work to be home for the technician. The morning of I received a call saying they do not service the area I live. No apologies, just monotone repetition. I asked to speak with someone who could talk about compensation for wages lost and the customer service agent hung up the phone. Do not work with this company.

Very disappointed. A Gold Medal technician came on Saturday morning to install two new thermostats (that are supposed to be installed at day 1 with new HVAC/2-zone by Gold Medal). However, it ends up -- not only technician can't install these two thermostats (technician claimed due to old control relay - fine), but my just newly installed $$$$ AC (by Gold Medal) becomes not functioning now(!?), even after restored my old thermostat back (then technician bramed to the installer@Gold Medal was not doing right, and must jump up AC to get it functioning!? -- seriously...I was the one seeing AC ran perfectly when started up by installer, who earned good work credits).
Now, the solution is they will send an "highly experienced" technician coming Tuesday to fix the problems (to get AC back on/to install thermostats). Hope they will send a right person this time to fix this 1-star service (wrong doing on thermostats-> may damage some circuit board -> caused brand new AC not functioning); otherwise, it truly ruins my prior good image on Gold Medal as a repeated customer on this 2nd HVAC for my house.
Watch out for their trucks on the road. I had one on the parkway today which ran me into the shoulder then later further up the road came up behind me and tailgated me.
We wanted to add an annual service contract on our 11 year old systems to keep them well maintained. Gold Star's first available appointment was 3 weeks out, which we took. They called the day before our appt and said they needed to reschedule due to the high number of air conditioning emergencies ( the temps were 50 degrees at the time). Our second appointment was scheduled for 2 weeks later, which was yesterday between 9am-12pm. We received a call around 1045am and was told due to the high number of service calls they were running a little late, but they had several technicians in the area so it wouldn't be too much longer. At 240pm they called back and said they are still backed up and offered to reschedule the appt. I said you cancelled on us last appointment, and she said we're not cancelling but we don't know how late we'll be. I told her we were waiting since 9am and if she couldn't have someone to our house by 340 we were not interested in doing our hvac business with Gold Star because they are unreliable. They obviously don't have enough technician to support their accounts. We planned on purchasing a 3 year agreement which we are glad we found out about their poor service and unavailability prior to having a problem or paying for their service.
My assessment: unprofessional and lacking in any kind of integrity.
My girlfriend's central air froze up and she called Gold Medal to see if they could come out. The VERY FIRST THING SHE ASKED, after seeing that they were all the way up in East Brunswick, was if her house, all the way down in Camden County, was too far. She was assured that it was not a problem and was given an appointment window of 12pm and 3pm.
Today, come 3pm, no technician. I left work early to let the technician in and my girlfriend, who was a nurse who works overnight, tried to get some sleep in a sweltering bedroom. After realizing that it was 3:15 and the technician had yet to arrive, she called to get an ETA and was told, after SPECIFICALLY ASKING AND VERIFYING WHEN MAKING THE APPOINTMENT, "I'm sorry, you're outside of our service area." The air headed broad on the other end of the line then proceeded to lie and say "We tried to call you." Guess what; the phone was next to me and on five bars the whole time and no call! If the girl on the other end had said "We made a mistake and should have called you," Maybe I would've been a little more understanding and I would've appreciated the honesty. But something like this makes you wonder if they're going to own up to it when they make a serious mistake with your home.

I hired the AC Tune-Up service before summer, expecting to have a basic preventive maintenance done, or at least have any issues to be informed and further addressed. These people are not technicians, they are salespeople. All he said is the equipment is too old and it needs to be replaced. Now it makes sense why this tuneup is only $39-59. It's a bait. THE RESULT: two months later the condenser overflowed, leaking water thru the ceiling due to a clogged drain pipe, something very simple that could've been addressed during the "maintenance". When I called today 07/20/19 the secretary said there would be another fee for them to come over and see what THEY are responsible for. Now I am stuck here with hundreds of dollars in damages.
Please stay away form Gold Medal all they are looking for is $$$ new installations.

I made an appointment for today 6/22/19 for service between 2pm and 4pm. I got confirmation texts on the 19th and 21st. I got a call minutes before 4pm from the technician saying that they don't service my area due to parking and he will call me back to confirm. I instead called gold medal and they confirmed that they do service my area and not sure why the technician would say that.
I called back the tech to let him know that i got confirmation that my area is serviced. But then he tells me that he is an hour away, so even if he gets confirmation to come or not it won't be for another hour or more.
I called back gold medal and then i was told that i was moved to the 4pm-8pm window but that i would need to GUARANTEE parking for the tech in order for him to come. Even though i said there were parking spots in front my house because i couldnt GUARANTEE it they said that they will not be able to service.
This was the most unprofessional and blatant disrespect to my time after multiple confirmations to my appointment days in advance and that they can service the area. If there are stipulations to your service, this should ve communicated before and not after your scheduled appointment. I cannot get back that time that was wasted waiting or the incoveniece of not even having the technician try to come and provide the service. Its disprespecfull and very bad customer service.

I had a problem with a diverter valve that is connected to my shower fixture. Chris Callan from Gold Star came out and had to open up my wall to repair the problem. He did an outstanding job completing the repair. It s worth noting that Chris was a true professional in how he explained the job and other services Gold Medal offers. I would highly recommend Chris and Gold Medal.

We asked for a licensed plumber and received just a tech who did not cap our pipe and fumes spread around our house. New Tech screamed at my wife, overcharged and then caught himself and charged us less. No call back, no responses, or refunds. This company is top notch! We had an emergency call in to them for a clogged main sewer line. Ray (our plumbing expert and all around great guy) was extremely friendly and knew exactly what needed to be done. He stayed after clearing it and made sure that everything was working properly before he left. We received phone calls from their dispatch throughout the day updating us as to the status of our service call and Ray even called us before he got here to make sure that we were ok or needed anything! That is excellent service! Since this was our first time dealing with Gold Medal, we will sure to contact these folks again!
I would like to say this is a company I wanted to not use anymore but I changed my mind because of some employees that made me feel valued. Everyone we have encounter at Gold Medal has been fantastic. The install of our new AC, which included all new vents in the basement, took longer than expected; they were great. They took their time, made sure everything was how they would want it in their own homes and cleaned up after themselves. I would recommend Gold Medal to anyone/everyone!

Next call over 1 hour after my window is over that I am next in the line ... No one should have to wait over 5 hours for a service .Will never call them or use their service. Poor customer care and absolutely no consideration for the client's time.
Multiple issues and months of waiting to get resolution. No help from managers..they don't care about the problem, they will try to push back if you ask for warranty replacement.
Technician went beyond his scope of work to fix our problem
Juan from Gold Medal came to my home to replace a light fixture. After settling on a cost to get the job done, Juan proceeded to do the job. He was efficient and I was satisfied with the end results.
Just an update, they claimed to have tried to call me and leave a voicemail which is a total lie. I've been getting plenty of calls, texts, emails and voicemails. None of which have been from Gold Medal. Might I add happens to be irrelevant as I got the work done already by another company who understands the meaning of customer service.
Total nonsense and I honestly expected much better service from this well known company. Called last night at 6 pm, gave my address and paid for the emergency service as it was a Sunday evening. Was given a time window of 7-10 pm, no problem. I called at 10:05 pm, just for an update. I was then told, "we don't work in high rise apartment buildings and that they tried to call me two times." So first off, the condo I live in has two floors, not 7 as they said they saw on Google maps and I didn't get any missed calls, messages, emails or texts. All forms of communication they had used prior to communicate with me. So two lies and a waste of my time and energy. Called Monmouth Heating and Plumbing, did the work this morning and was reliable and reasonable.
Lastly, I was also told I'd be getting a call from a manager first thing this morning. It's 1:25 and I've yet to hear from anyone.

I made an appointment 3 weeks ago. Yes, it took them that long. I get a call the day before the service stating that they are too busy with other service calls. I call back to reschedule and they state they need an additional 4 weeks. So 7 total weeks from initial call. I find this absolutely not professional at all. I could have had this service already completed by another service provider.
I had someone come to look at my electric in the bathroom. The guy was friendly and knew what he was doing so I have no complaints as to the service. It turned out to be a loose wire and he fixed it in about 5 minutes to the tune of $300.00. It would have been even more but he had me sign up for some gold medal program. Otherwise it would have been $400. I don't know the typical electrician cost, but this seemed very steep. I don't blame the guy- I blame the company. I understand time is money but there wasn't much to diagnose with my issue besides a loose wire. All in all, I think they are over priced and I will most likely look elsewhere for services next time and see what other people charge. I could be wrong so we will see.

I have been a Gold Medal client for many years. The work has been ok sometimes we have had to call them back but overall we were satisfied customers until this last experience. It was a big job and we agreed to financing. Since the techs are also salesmen they should have a basic idea of what financing will cost, but he didn't let us know.We were blown away when we heard financing would be at 21% Imagine being a retired couple with a fixed income finding money to pay for that kind of financing.
we have a contract for them to service our major appliances. The tech came to service our central air and looked at our water heater. He said it was old. My husband asked how much to replace it. He said $2000. I said wait a minute we also have a contract for PSE&G to check our major appliances. They came out checked it and said it was ok. If we wanted it replaced it would cost $1000. Why the 100% difference? Makes me suspect all their pricing.

I have a broken pipe in my laundry room. I called Gold Medal and the girl on the other end of the phone told me someone would be here in the AM. They never showed up. I called back the next day and another girl told me they don't service my area. THEY ARE VERY UNDEPENDABLE. I would have been waiting forever . NOT DEPENDABLE!
