As far as the work and customer service goes i have nothing but praise.

The customer reps who set up my appointment were courteous and professional even when I had to change the appointment. I was sent an alert before the arrival of the technician with his picture.

Juan Otoya, the technician, arrived on time and went over with me what I needed to be done. He explained the what, why, how, and cost of the work he was about to do and offered suggestions about future improvements.

The work was done with skill and efficiency and Juan cleaned up after himself.

I thought the price was a little high, hence the 4 out of 5 stars, but the experience and the workmanship were excellent.

Called for the $99 special for a simple bathroom clog. The lady told me $29 for trip charge so ok even with the trip charge $130 for drain cleaning is better than having no sink. When the plumber came I explained to him I tried to fix the clog with a Drano. The plumber gave me a $199 quote for the job because I used the drano and drano cleaning is not covered under $99 deal. The price wasn't what I told my husband so I needed to get it ok'd. My other bathroom needed unclogging too so asked him to give me an estimate for unclogging sink & the shower. $600 total so I asked for discount and got it down to $500. Told him I will get back to him & he left. 5 minutes later he came back with $32 bill. Really? I really don't mind paying someone for trip charge when they actually do the work but for an estimate? I can get free estimate anywhere!! I would've gladly paid the trip charge if you honored the advertised $99 special. Well, now I'm definitely not going to use Water Works.

I called Roto Rooter right after and told them the same thing. Drano? No Problem!!! The guy came out and opened up my bathroom sink for $99 and second sink at a half price as well as the third shower. Paid all for under $200. I'm so glad Water Works saved me $300 today. Thanks to Water Works now I know who to call next time. Call the Big Guys -- Roto Rooters!!

On star to two star 2/3/18 -- upgraded them for following through on the refund.

I bought total care plan by paying $500 for 3 year...

I bought total care plan by paying $500 for 3 years. Today, I called them to replace a pressure reducing valve. Here were the prices quoted:
1. Replace PRV, main water line valve and install a pressure gauge - member price approximately $1,250
2. Replace PRV and install a pressure gauge - member price approximately $1,135

I complained about the steep price tag and after a call by plumber to manager, price was reduced to $590 (reason for price reduction - we will not adjust the expansion tank in water heater). Reason was as irrational as the initial price. Completely lost confidence and turned away the plumber. Since I have already paid the total care for 3 years, will continue to use them for preventive maintenance, but will give it a serious thought about calling them ever for anything else.

Our technician Jan was great. Repaired a very difficult ceiling fan issue...the fan had detached and fallen from the ceiling holding on by a single wire. Jan was able to secure the fan and cut it down to make it safe. He returned the next day to make the full repair and re-install it.

Reps and Technicians were exceptionally very kind. but, that doesnt really get my ac fixed. Called the business to get a quote for a replacement condenser. the rep told me they needed to send someone to my home. I explained that i already know whats wrong; had three techs from diff. companies visit and its all the same - i need a new condenser. Gold medal insisted on sending someone and would charge a $70 service call fee - which would be returned if i ended up hiring them. Tech came down and told me what i already knew - I need a new condenser. The tech gave me a quote of 8k- thats appox. 5k more than the other quotes i received.

I feel like i got ripped off for my $70 service call.

I had a new outdoor faucet installed and shut off ...

I had a new outdoor faucet installed and shut off valves and drains installed in the water lines going to the sink in my garage. The plumber, Mike McCabe, knew his stuff and had great customer service.
Mike also unbolted the toilet in my front foyer powder room to see why the toilet was rocking back and forth. As it turned out, the subfloor was rotten, after 30 years, and needed to be replaced. Mike was unable to do anything further.
My only issue is that unbolting the toilet cost me $200 which is outrageous. I would have thought it would be maybe $50 for the 15 minutes of work as no special skills or tools were required. This is NOT Mike's fault as he does not set the prices. I am very happy with Mike McCabe and would recommend him for sure.

I love everything about Gold Medal. I ve used them a few times and every time have had a different technician. Each one is respectful, knowledgeable and friendly. They always arrive on time and get the job done at a very reasonable price. I would highly recommend Gold Medal for any of the services they provide!

This most recent experience, Anthony came out for a clogged sewer pipe. It wound up being the main sewer and spent so much time helping us to get public works out and together trying to locate the problem. He is even coming out again today with additional help to further identify the exact location of the problem. This is all covered with yesterday s service call pricing. Amazing!

0% rating due to the fact that on 11/23/19 I scheduled appointment made, stating they do work on suburban furnaces and I explained her what was going on with the furnace. she scheduled the appointment for the following day November 24 the technician arrived and went to get out of his vehicle as I was unlocking my door to walk in my home the technician said to me as he got out of the Company vehicleI just starting there , we don t work on RVs, I explained him please can you come in for a minute so I can ask a question who might he said no and walked away rudely. number 1 the company told me they worked on suburban RV heaters number 2 We are in America you do not treat people that way for no reason at all so rudely, so to give them a gold medal under no circumstances they are not all what they are claiming out to be from the name gold metal...so to save you aggravation time and energy as I lost $140 off of work today to come home to my appointment and have this happen.

He diagnosed the problem, fixed it quickly, and then went on to provide information on the entire system and what my options were. In addition, he offered his advice on electrical and plumbing issues as well.

I usually don't write reviews unless I'm absolutely pleased or disappointed.
This is the case when I'm absolutely pleased and I wanted to share my experience so that it can benefit other people who are undecided about which contractor to hire.
I recently bought and installed a complete Lennox HVAC system with Gold Medal Service in the Sparta, NJ area, and the experience couldn't been smoother.
From the initial consultation with Chris (Sales) till the installation day, I didn't have a single bump.
They were really really really professional. The installers (Cody and Sean) were extremely professional and careful while in my house. The installation process was a top notch. Their availability was very surprising. They can install a full system the next day, this tells a lot about them. If anything will break in the future they will be able to replace it as quick as well. Other companies were giving me a month ahead for the installation date. (A month of waiting is a lot in the middle of the Summer).
Believe me, I looked around before for estimates and talked to different companies in the area and I couldn't find anything as professional and as well organized as Gold Medal.

Had a water heater issue so someone came out to give an estimate. I had talked to a few other companies and had a fair idea of what this would cost. When I was given the estimate I told them that the price they were charging was crazy and I would never pay that much. They said that they would call their manager and the price was magically cut almost in half(to where it should have been in the first place even though still a little expensive but far more reasonable). The work was done correctly and we haven't had any issues since but I can't count how many times the repairman tried to get me to buy a new water heater. I mean after I say no the first couple times STOP ASKING. All in all, the work is done properly but they are extremely expensive and will try to continuously upsell you.

Very friendly people and no high pressure sales. They may be more expensive than a local handyman but they are knowledgeable, clean, and thorough.

I have used this company in the past and will not be using them again. For starters they are very over priced. They will charge you for simply coming out to look at the job. Then when they show up the price just goes up from there. I have used another plumber since them and even in the "Trade" this company does not have a good reputation. To be fair as far as the work that got done, they did the job and cleaned up afterward. As others have said they have multiple people working for them, so its kind of like a lottery of you who you get . Now I have someone that's been to my house, knows what he is doing, and is excellent. If you want a job done for a high price, here you go. But trust me you can do better. There staff is courteous and job gets done. I understand many do charge a service call, but overall I tend to find these guys expensive.

Sure glad I didn't change any previous plans I had that day to sit around and wait. I'm sure I can cancel plans another day and waste more of my time. Not the service I was expecting.

GMS seems to be a professional, organized company,...

GMS seems to be a professional, organized company, which is why I chose to use them. When you call up, there's almost no wait time and, when they pick up, they know exactly who you are and are able to assist you quickly. I used them for the first time today for a steam boiler tune-up, but had an inferior experience compared to other companies I've used in the past.

The service technician, Roy, was quite professional and understanding. However, my appointment was between 9 and 12, GMS called me at 10:30 to let me know that I'm next on the list, but the technician didn't show up until after 2:30 PM. After that, the cleaning of the boiler was not complete. The most notable was that the sight glass was left completely uncleaned and the pipes attached to it. (See picture.) I've used AJ Perri and Service Professionals in the past, and without question, they cleaned all the pipes and the sight glass. (Even when you Google boiler tune-up, cleaning the sight glass is standard.) When I asked why they don't clean it, Roy told me that it is a liability in case the glass breaks. Well, isn't that why we call professionals to do this work since they should know how to handle that with care?

When I asked to speak to his manager, she was too busy to speak with me and told him to relay to me that they only replace the sight glass. He quoted me $550 to do that! I called the main office and spoke with a manager. He said he would call his boss who would then call Roy. Roy received a phone call that reiterated they don't clean the sight glass (but the manager again refused to speak to the customer).

In my opinion, the proper way to have handled this is to let the customer know that they typically don't clean the sight glass, but that they would do it this one time. In general, it's odd that they don't do this as a standard practice and it makes me think what else is not included compared to other providers. It's like getting an oil and filter change for your car, but then you go to a seemingly reputable shop and they just change your oil and say they don't typically include a filter change.

So now I'll need to get another technician in to clean the site glass as replacing it doesn't make sense as it's completely functional. I was really hoping to recommend GMS, but after my experience, I cannot.

Well a month later my ac unit is not working properly and they gave me an appointment for 3 days later. How is this right away?!? They took my 9k and ran. This was our second experience with Gold Medal, we signed up for the yearly maintenance on their first visit.

I know I can depend on Gold Medal and there workmanship.

I recommend Gold Medal and it staff without any reservations.

We arrived home to a 90 degree house on a Sunday only to find out Blower motor fried. I called numerous places to only have my time wasted. I called gold medal and was not jerked around. I was given a time of arrival and understood they were extremely busy. They had a tech out to us the next morning and within 24 hours had a brand new HVAC system installed and tested. You pay for what you get and every part of the process was painless and the staff was excellent.

Had a month long wait because they are busy. They call me 3 days prior to my scheduled service date to say "we're sorry but we're busy and need to reschedule your appointment." Never gave me a new date and didn't show up for my scheduled date. I highly recommend calling another company that actually shows up and cares about their customers. The lack of respect to put people off because "you're busy" is appalling. They aren't even worth giving another shot for a good deal. Like I said, find a local reliable mom and pop shop. You'll get so much better service then you would with gold medal

He explained what he was doing and when he was done, again, explained all that needed to be explained. He was conscious of taking his booties on and off when entering and exiting the house. Absolutely the worst. I called early morning, just after 8am, I needed a gas line extended to my new dryer, was told they would call between 1-3pm. After not receiving a call I called them back at 3:30. After speaking to the customer service rep, I was told I would receive a call from the dispatcher, which I did, he explained that there was some sort of office mix up and that the tech would call when he was finished with his next job. About 20 minutes later I got a call from the tech, after explaining what I needed to move the gas line about 4-5 feet, the tech told me I was looking in-between $850-$1000.00 and told me he couldn't be here for an additional hour and 45 minutes. He came up with everything he could to not do the job, I just wish the would have told me they didn't want the job and not wasted my time! SO much for a stand up company...............

Sergiy was wonderful. He was very professional and helped us resolve all our problems, some of which we did not even notice before. I feel much better about safety of our house, not to mention now it has more efficient and better looking outlets and switches.
I would call Sergiy again whenever we might need more help with electric or pluming problems.

Joe was professional, thorough, took the time to explain a setting on the central air unit I didn t even know we had AND scheduled a separate appointment on our behalf for something that came up during the conversation. Gold Medal cancelled my first appointment after waiting for 2 hours, but allowed fme to pick a day and time of my choice for the next. Things happen when dealing with repairs so I am satisfied how it was handled.
Martin was the technician that came to my home. He was professional, knowledgeable and walked me through each step of the decisins I had to make. I would reccomend askeing for him.

Let s just start by saying that from the moment he called me to let me know he was on his way to my house I knew he was gonna be the one to solve all the issues in my house
His questions and concerns about my situation and his reassurance that everything will be fixed made me feel confident and assured
The moment he walked in he was extremely cordial and pleasant and started tackling all the issues one at a time and trust me there were plenty
He never lost his cool or attitude. Actually he was very funny. He kept cracking jokes and making the situation feel less stressful than it already was
Every time a new headache would arise he made sure to say we got this
And he surely did. He was in my house from around 12 pm until 10pm He even had to do a run to Home Depot to buy more supplies because all the issues in my house depleted his inventory
He got the job done 120% there are not enough praises that I could give him
His apprentice Peter Kvartek was a force to be reckoned with as well. He was his right hand man all throughout. Just as Mike he tackled every issue with a positive attitude. His professionalism will take him far and beyond. He deserves plenty of praises as well
I hope this review gets to the right person so that Mike and Peter get the recognition they deserve cause to tell you the truth they deserve it

My water heater was not working and they did an excellent job responding on time to diagnose the problem and provide me a quote with three options. When they came to replace the water heater they showed up on time did an excellent job and left the area very clean, cleaner than it was. My water heater was installed very efficiently. The water heater is working like a champion and I m very happy with the installation and the service. I recommend them to anyone that has an emergency or planned work.

It is a scam. We had a tripped fuse. Paid $30 for them to come in. Then they wanted an extra $400 to do the assessment (not even fixing it). We told them to forget it and called another company.

The other company found the issue and fixed it within minutes (wire issue at the attic fan).

Recently I had bathroom exhaust fan replaced by Gold Medal service. They did a great job providing same day service as they promised. The Gold Medal does not give price break details, they gives you whole sum price for the job.
Out of curiosity, I checked the price of the material including exhaust fan (which the technician picked up at local hardware store like Home Depot/Lowes) was around $200-$250. They charge me $1000 total for the job.
In my opinion, they charge me $750 - $800 for the installation, which I think is ridiculous. I understand that I should have done my homework right, but when I committed to get the job done, I trusted the reputed company and believed their prices would be competitive.
I would like to give them 5 STAR for the service but not happy about the cost.
I feel like I have been fooled. I really would think to use them in the future.

Danny Longo is the man! Gold Medal Service will be my new "go to" company! First plumber charged $125 to unclog a drain and a week later it was clogged again then Roto Rooter quoted $195 for a service call. Driving on the NJ Turnpike this morning I saw a billboard advertising Gold Medal. I read their reviews and figured for $93 it would be worth it. 4 hours later Danny was at my door and 30 minutes after that perfectly clear drain! Danny was professional, polite and even gave us a list of do's and don't. Highly recommended! Thank you!!

I had made an appointment well in advance to have an electrician come to my home to install an outlet. The company then called to cancel via voicemail the evening prior to having the work done. Having worked the night shift I had missed the voicemail until the day of the scheduled appointment; I called the company to express my concern and they said they had cancelled due to emergencies. I expressed my displeasure and voiced that my current outlet that was being used was an obvious fire hazard, hence the need for a new outlet, making my work just as much as an emergency (never mind it being actually SCHEDULED IN ADVANCE). They were unable to accommodate and in my mind seem very unreliable. Would not recommend and I will be taking my business elsewhere.

While the quality of work is good and the technici...

While the quality of work is good and the technicians are friendly the pricing is insane. I was charged 400$ for a couple GFI outlets That were replaced in about 15 minutes. Not long after the work was done is looked online and found these outlets for about 20$. So that means that for the labor they are charging 360$ for 15 minutes of work. I get that there s a charge for the equipment and transport and labor but that s incredibly steep.

Update* thanks for following up. I didn't state any concerns but I'd like to know how your calculating what to charge? A breakdown of the bill would be nice. I'd just like to know how a 40$ item that is a relatively simple repair is charged so much?

I'd also like to add that this isn't the first time I've had your company at my house. The last time I called your company was to do some electrical work in my basement last year. I was quoted some ridiculous number (I believe they stated it could be up to 20,000$) to swap out some fuze boxes and rewire some parts of the basement. I denied the work but was still charged just for them taking a look. I don't remember the amount exactly but I think it was somewhere around 75$.

What's with your pricing? Are you using Golden tools? Are you using Bentley's to drive your techs around? I'm done working with you guys. Looking for another local technician next time I need something done.

I had to call back to reschedule appointment and there was always a person to talk to about my job. My specific plumber called 30 min before arrival, Gold Medal Service sent a qualified plumber named Mike McCabe. He was very friendly and knowledgeable and helped troubleshoot a clogged R/O valve while he was there replacing a cold water valve. Saved me the time, effort and anxiety. GMS pay by the job, which can be pricey, but well worth the convenience of a quality plumber coming out quickly to solve your problem.

I set up an appointment for HVAC Yearly maintenance. My time window was from 12 PM to 4 PM. I took off work to make sure I was there when Gold Metal arrived. At 4:30 PM and no sign of a tech I called the office. They said the tech was still on a job and when he was done it would take and additional 40 minutes to get to me. If you can't meet a four hour window how good of a company are they. Since they were going to probably be over 90 min late for the 4 hour window promise I cancelled and will definitely not use this company again. All they could say to me is I am sorry. Very frustrated that they didn't inform me of the delay and I only found out by calling them. Very unprofessional way to treat your customers.

I was connected with gold medal service by Costco ...

I was connected with gold medal service by Costco program to replace water heater. It went well until they found out my place is difficult to install and they have stopped responding to me. Come on... at least you Gold Medal could have courage to say NO instead of dragging and not responding. Not able to install is ok and understandable, but not responding is just bad.
