We've been getting our summer flowers here for years. Yes they are more expensive than Home Depot or some family owned businesses, but the quality out weighs the extra cost by far.
Friendly staff and an experiance you cant find anywhere else. Its pricey for a family. But definitely a good day
Way to expensive and the animals they have there should not be out all day like they are. Most of them are to young to be away from their mom. Don't recommend.
This is a great place for kids, they have lots of fun things to do for them including the magic show which I enjoyed. However, I was very disappointed that we could no longer pick our own pumpkins in the field, which is what I'd been looking forward to. I've been going to this farm every year for about four years, but I do not think I will be returning.
The place has alot of things to do, the fruit is fresh and good. I would say I have only one problem the attractions are almost never open its only during Halloween which sucks because you would have to wait all that long to have to experience the fun
Went to Goebbert s for the first time today. Wonderful selection and very friendly staff.
Had a wonderful time. The kids really enjoyed themselves.
I wish I read the reviews before coming here. Just like other people who have left reviews, I too myself thought that buying tickets at a certain time slot online would be to limit the capacity of people. Let me tell you, this place was a breeding ground for COVID. I visited yesterday in the evening and there were so many people. There were HUGE lines of people in the food section, homemade sweets section, and to see the giraffe. On top of that, there were sooooo many people in the petting zoo tents. People were literally on top of each other crammed in there. There are no staff members enforcing social distancing. This was my first time here and I was very disappointed with how they re dealing with the pandemic.
It s a Fall tradition for us to go to Goebberts every year and understandably this year would be different. We went this past week on a weekday hoping for smaller crowds but with the gorgeous weather it was packed. I was really surprised that a number of guests were not wearing masks. In crowded areas, like the pig races and dinosaur eating pumpkin, and even in the animal tents, where the rule clearly states masks are required. I didn t see any staff walking around enforcing masks in the tight spaces. Also, neither the pony ride operator nor the camel ride operator were wearing masks. They were less than 6 feet from a child.
It was easy to social distance in the play yard so if people didn t wear the mask there it was fine, and the wagon ride operator made sure everyone had masks as well.
We still had fun, but you ve got to do better in regard to safety this year.
It's basically a carnival. The exotic animals on display ruined the entire experience of pumpkin picking for me and I couldn't wait to get my family out of there. A giraffe in a house? African birds, zebras, just wrong.
And camel rides by the camel "towing" company. Nice play on words, but gross at a family function.
Would never return.
Great fall activities for kids and families. Can get pricey as they love to charge for extras.
Unprofessional service at check out by someone named LJ who was very abrupt and discourteous, usually a friendly place to shop, no more.
This one is not as good as the Pingree Grove site. They closed on Halloween while the other was open and they're smaller
I cannot believe that at mommy & me changing station they didn t even have a fan going or ac!!!! Such a life hazard for little ones.
My baby got all red, sweaty and had hard time breathing when I was trying to feed him. He didn t even want to eat after I tried feeding.
Had to go outside in the shade and do so.
I was sweating buckets myself in there. I felt like it was 100+ degrees in there. With the sun beating on the wooden house at 94 degree heat.
They didn t even have a fan going at bakery.and $3 for a bottle of water that s outrages.
Good family fun. Price for animal farm too high and i wish it was separate from lfpy
Took the grandkids there on Columbus Day. This place is a fall tradition for us. Yes, the prices have risen over the years but they keep adding new things so it's worth it. We get there as soon as they open so the giraffe is hungry and ready to eat the carrots the kids feed them. Same with the parakeets that you feed with birdseed on a stick.
It costs more on weekends and holidays but they add more magic shows and pig races.
Bring your camera and take lots of pictures. But the pumpkin prices are too high so shop elsewhere for that.
After noon this place is crazy busy on weekends so plan to get here early and leave when it gets too much.
Get here early! Before 11:30 and avoid the hassle of long lines and parking half a mile away. So much to do and see for the kids. Try the Carmel Apple Pie!
Goebbert's is a phenomenal farm to visit with so many amazing animals you won't regret stopping by!
Absolutely wonderful memories made today at Goebbert's farm. Clean, safe, fun and affordable. There were some nice backdrops to take fall pictures. Try their signature drink hot chocolate with apple cider and cinnamon donut. Highly recommended!!
My kids had a blast. The only disappointment was that none of the animals were available, the train wasn't working and they couldn't play in the corn because of the bees. I thought we should have received passes to come back again. Those are the three things they wanted to experience the most.
That being said, the kids enjoyed themselves. They loved the cars and jumping pillow. All the staff members were very pleasant.
Great place for kids, families, and even couples!
My husband and I had a great time just the two of us; we enjoyed the games, magician, the and the mining portion (we hit the motherlode, and pay dirt!). Plus, getting to have some warm Apple cider and donuts was a great way to enjoy fall!
They have some social distancing things in place to force a streamlined entry and exit point system, however it seemed like some guests weren t paying mind to distancing themselves. Masks are required, per COVID regulations.
They serve food and the dining areas are spaced well. All seating is outdoor (most is in a greenhouse), and there are cards on the table to flag staff to sanitize after use.
Great place for kid activities in the Fall. Our son loved it!
Love this place. We go every year. Go early as it gets packed after lunch. Get the kettle corn!
While they have a large selection of plants, they are expensive. For basic planter box, annual planting I go to Home Depot. I shop often for tomatoes/corn when in season but was totally not happy when I stopped by last week only to find that all the front parking spaces had been turned into handicap parking (with absolutely no cars in them) and the lot was packed all the way to the back. Needless to say, I was not walking from the back road all the way up to the store for corn. You should consider making a few spaces up front for those of us just stopping in for produce during your fall festival. I went to Randy's market instead.
Great place to take your kids. At first the ticket fees seemed high, but there was so much to do, it was worth it. You can easily spend four hours.
Don't waste your money here. I brought my dog with my family to come and they didn't allow him here (at an outside venue) had to leave without my family so they could still enjoy. Plus there is an entrance fee. 0/10 will never come back.
A little on the pricey side, but the donuts are delicious! Good place to bring the kids, lots of activities to keep them entertained.
Huge. Fun for kids. A little pricey. Parking/exiting was a nightmare
Going for years. Veggies and fruit fresh. Prices good
Went on a weekday, and it was dead. The number of and variety of exotic animals was surprising but some of the animals were kept in surprisingly small enclosures, and did not look well cared for. Food choices were pretty meh, and prices in the shop were pretty high. Nothing really exceptional about it except for all the animals, and depending on your point of view, that's not necessarily a positive.
Pros: There's plenty to keep kids busy for the day, lots of food and plenty of parking cons: can get pricey each ride cost anywhere from $2-$6 for one round.
Absolutely wonderful memories made today at Goebbert's farm. Clean, safe, fun, affordable, and so many neat activities to do all while keeping safe during these different times. Thank you!! My 2 boys 7 and 2 and I had an absolute blast!
Always come here for flowers and veggies around mother's day first time going in Autumn. Definitely fun. Loved the parakeets.
I can't wait till next year!!! The whole family has fun!!
Love this farm. Good food options. They have many varieties of squash in the fall. Petting zoo for the kids. Thousands of pumpkins to choose from. Be sure to visit and read up on the family history in one of the small houses. Lots of fun here.
The farm was fun! Great place if you have kids and want them to have these amazing October feels! Apple cider cinnamon donuts are worth it. Pumpkin spice latte is okay, it taste like it s from 7-11. The sprinkle brownie tastes like it s pre packaged and not fresh. But food isn t the main thing there, it s the fun!
Camel ride and jumping area for kids each cost $6 a pop. Kids can only jump for 4 minutes for $6 so that s not reasonable! They should at least let the kids jump for 10 minutes for the price! One ticket is $16.99 on weekends.
You go inside, have all the pumpkin patch fun you need and leave. I liked the cute cows and giraffe. The parakeets were cute and so many of them in a cage. I was worried for the animals if they were warm but they keep them pretty warm. The only thing I did not like there were how the cows cage was filled with poop. They need to clean that cage out! And make sure the cows are not smashing their face in their own poop.
Honestly if you re a pumpkin patch fanatic like me, you ll love it. Also it s cute for Instagram pictures and a memorable family day! They do have varieties of fun, so it s good to see that.
Btw parking is hard to find on weekends in October!
Happy fall!
I think you definitely need to not use exotic animals or have many for entertaining at these places. It is stressful to them and not good. I have zero respect for anyone using them as a money making event. Heard they are cramped in cages. Wrong to me and sad.
Great farm loved the fall festival, wonderful for the family, lots to do, great food, and price is reasonable. Sad we couldn't see the giraffes because the line was too long but otherwise I recommend you visit.
Very nice farm, you can feel the animals. Had a lot of fun.
Great place for pumpkin patch. Love roasted corn selling for $3.00 an ear.
Used to love going here! But last year people were waiting in line to see the camel and feed it for over a hour and all of sudden they let it outside. No warning to people in line. Alot of people were upset and then the manager everyone spoke too was really rude. Only reason I would not go back. You should never speak to people the way the manager did.
Great family fun right before Halloween. Perfect way to spend the day looking at animals and going through a corn maze
Awesome farm market. Best fruits & veggies. We get our flowers & veggies plants in spring. Love their fall festival for young kids.
Been going there since I was a kid. Wonderful but it is expensive. Very busy on the weekends, so get there right at open.
Overall, great place with lots to do however it is overpriced in my opinion. $6 for a pony ride that lasted about 2 min (and we were the only ones in line) is a little steep. Worth one trip a year for us.
Very disappointed with the prices. It would have been almost $50 for my kids and I to get in that s not including pumpkins, fudge, Golden corn, or doughnuts! Walked into the farm and walked out! Went to Sunnyacres we re it was free to get in and my kids can choose what they wanted to do! They were so happy and excited!! I got my fudge and doughnuts, they kids got their adventure and pumpkins!!
This is our go-to pumpkin farm. They usually have a great selection of pumpkins and a nice farmers market. Everyone is friendly. Expect to pay to get in to the "play places" and the food is expensive. But, we always have a great family time without paying for the extras.
Great place. Excellent produce, terrific baked goods and a variety of plants, ceramics, and just about everything you need for the garden.
Overpriced. Overcrowded. Gross food. Felt upset by the animals being used as attractions
Amazing place, amazing staff.. Unfortunately it's quite pricey.
Goebberts has been a top farm/pumpkin patch for years in our area. The South Barrington location is huge, right off I-90
and packed with a wide variety of seasonal items, foods, and rides for kids. Its perfect to go there on a sunny cool Fall day!
I used to go here a lot as a kid, before all of the animals were part of the attractions . Really don t understand why animals, like giraffes, need to be a part of a pumpkin farm. Hoping they come to their senses eventually and realize how horrible it is to have wild animals in tiny pens as attractions, just to make a buck.....
Love this place we come every year it's a family tradition... So many things to do different activities for the kiddos. Will keep coming here every year
Over priced & too crowded especially for kids. The farm has a cluttered feel that causes confusion.. If your a parent looking for an easy going day for you and your child I'd suggest the Morton arboretum or a different pumpkin patch not so close to large populated town. Also parking isn't great and they charge separate on features on top of the pricey admission fees. The adults pay the same rates as children a good indication that they are greedy and rather not put customers first they'd rather make a undeserving profit for overworked animals.. Don't support.
We took my 4 year daughter and she had fun. It is for the kids. She fed the animals, played on the playground, took a pony ride, went to the corn maze and we spent about 3 hours here. But the prices have gotten way to high for a pumpkin farm. The pony ride was extra and cost $6. The haunted house was extra and cost $6 and most of there hand made animatronics were broken and did not work. By the end of the day we spent almost $60 for a family of three including the food. I can spend a whole day at Six Flags at that price and have more fun. The food is overpriced for the quality. The kids pizza is basically a small dollar tree pizza. The food tasted cheap. There hot dogs are not even Vienna beef, despite them having signs claiming they are. They don't serve burgers on Fridays but there was no sign that said available only on Saturdays. My wife tried the pumpkin latte and she said it was terrible. Worst pumpkin latte she has ever had in her life. She took one sip and threw it out including the souvenir mug. I think next year we will skip it. I know the Goebbert family has to make money, but they have just gotten way to expensive with there prices. We never buy our pumpkins here anymore either. They are charging almost $10-12 for a medium-large sized pumpkin. We can go to the local grocery store and get them for like half that price and they will be just as good.
I really enjoyed this farm's Pumpkin festival! It was well organized and had a lot of festive activities ranging from Pig racing, giraffe watching and even camel riding! I definitely recommend this farm for families with kids as well because there was a lot of kid activities too.
Super fun in October however be prepared to spend over $100 for family of 4 and that's not taking anything home.
Pretty crowded and absolutely touristy. We actually prefer the other location to this one. There isnt enough handicapped VAN parking. Not a lit of rides and the animals seem to be over fed. The kids still enjoyed themselves.
Hot Carmel apple cider delicious, pumpkin apple bacon soup superb......must try!!!!!
All of the animals are visibly neglected. No water bowls in sight and small enclosures. Much better options for family fun elsewhere.
It can get a a little expensive but my family and I always have a great time here every year we have gone.
Perfect place to bring your kids for a fun day in the fall! Definitely go early in the day though--this place gets crowded fast.
Love this place, they have great fresh produce, around October look for their Apple Cider and Apple cider cinnamon donuts out of this world great! They have unusual plants the regular stores don't hit there beginning of the season for best selection. Last day October 31. Have a great Halloween and winter.
I had a blast with my wife and 5 year old. I suggest it. Tons of fun and good staff. I didnt really talk to them but seemed like they knew there stuff. New family tradtion.
