Lots of fun, despite some rides being closed because of Covid. Well worth a visit when you're down the shore!

Great entertainment on the boardwalk. Make sure to checkout the limited ride bands as the rides here cost a lot compared to other NJ boardwalks.
My two year old loved it! Plenty of small rides for him to enjoy, and as we went slightly off season, there were little to no wait times.
Lots of fun rides for both young kids and more wild rides. I think that castaway cove has a better variety, but this place opens earlier. Also, when we went on a Tuesday it was 2 ticket Tuesday from 12-4 pm. All rides are 2 tickets (about 2 dollars). Also I believe there was a poster that said Sunday nights (I think it was 9-11pm), you can get unlimited rides for 10 dollars per person
Fun for the family, bring young kids really gets very crowded after 7:30 or 8:00
Very nice and clean! Wonderful staff and great food! Awesome family atmosphere!
Costs to much $1 per ticket = $1-5 per ride and these rides have been out since I have been born.
A number of rides were out of commission and the ticket per ride is high.
It is fun but old, they charge you a lot of money for tickets and nothing has really been updated in a long time. My 7 and 9 year old were bored after an hour. It's time for some new rides.
Love this place so much!! Best place to take the kids and family!!
My family and I enjoy Gillians, but prefer Castaway Cove as it costs less and has a variety of rides that work well for our family.
Favorite ride here is the Log Flume.
We LOVE Gillians. There discount days T-Th and their 1/2 price tix in the spring, plus rides for every thrill level. What more could you want in a boardwalk amusement?
Our kids had a great time being treated to rides by their visiting grandparents. Was it worth it? Sure, it's OC, and i have memories of going here almost 50 years ago. Is it getting ridiculously expensive? Yes, and I personally won't pay that price for the rides unless I get the tickets for half price at the beginning of the season (which hopefully they continue to offer.) Other than that, they've moved things around a bit this year but i don't see any improvement from a customer perspective.
Worked here for awhile. Old General Managers of the entire place made my summers hell & miss treated me. Learning any rides was a pick & choose personal favorites. If the managers didn't like a worker for any reason, they would force workers to operate 1 or 2 rides an entire season even if the worker knows most of the rides in the park. They will employ anyone, one employed person carried a knife and was flinging & poking tickets in the box. The whole friendly feeling is fake & they force us to smile(most of us) most of us didn't smile anyways but kept a respectful manner to customers. Would not advise working here, mostly the employees are unhappy & neglect safety provisions. I only worked here because I was in need of money & I enjoyed working with the families that visited and I saw every weekend.
Landmark attraction with nice ferris wheel and other rides from kiddie rides to a little more exciting.
Always have a good experience here with my girls (8 y/o and 5 y/o). Great mix of kiddie rides inside with just enough bigger rides (log flume, haunted house, swings, music express, etc.) to keep the girls happy as they're getting older.
Fun time for the kids. No alcohol in Ocean City is the best.
This is a favorite place to visit every Summer! They bring in new rides while keeping the favorites. It's a great place for the whole family to have fun!
great place to bring the kids, avoid the bumper cars
I'm 50. This place has been great since as far back as I can remember
Nice but the prices keep going up. Bring your wallet. This place is empty, spooky and obviously hurting. Many rides were shut down in July! Spend your money elsewhere.
Rides!!! Fun!!! Really cool for the little ones and the ones a little bigger than the little ones.
I drove 2 and a half hours to get to this place today to ride 1 ride. Checked the website before i left and it did not indicate limited rides like some of the other days do. So we decided to drive down today. It might sound silly but when you are a ride enthusiast who drives hours to enjoy something only to arrive and the ride is closed its lame. Talked to guest services and they told us that they dont have enough staff to operate the ride. The girl offered to ask her manager but then after speaking to him told us theres nothing she could do. She seemed sincere in her apology i just feel like we should have been offered something like some free tickets or something for our trouble. I get that its the off season but still the website should be updated.
My kids loved this place. There were even some rides my one year old could go on with his big sister. It was very clean and had a nice variety of rides all very close together.
The only negative is that the kid who was running the log flume ride was not paying attention and didn't tell us the proper way to ride with a child and my daughter ended up nearly flying out on the way down. Slightly traumatic for both of us, but she's OK!
Fun, but beware when buying a wristband. Only good for a certain number of hours which wasn't specified when we purchased ours.
We love this place - especially the special days. So many cute rides, great for younger kids. Our favorite are the cars that whip around.
As far as covid precautions, all of the staff have on masks (correctly!). Hand sanitizer is at the front of every ride with signage (not everyone uses it though). There are paw prints designating 6 foot distance at each ride entrance (again, not everyone adheres to it). There are no longer any benches around for seating, so that made it really difficult for my mother in law. I'm not sure if that is a covid precaution or an end of season thing though.
Overall, we highly recommend!
Had fun watching my granddaughter and her friends go on the rides. She had so much fun
Takes a lot of tickets for each ride $$$ it's mostly for younger children
Great family atmosphere, fun rides, clean , friendly - always a blast!!!
Really fun place for kids ages 3-9. The only downside is that it's really expensive. Expect to spend $40 or more per child if you go outside of one of their weekday specials 1-4pm.
Great rides for ages 2-8. I love that my kids can go on some of the same exact rides I went I as a kid, they haven't changed a bit!
Ticket prices are up, amount of tickets needed to ride increases, staff is really young/inexperienced and had problems communicating.
Kids loved the rides which is why some stars. I would give more stars if the employee's were a little more friendlier. The guy running the Mary go round was being extra rude.
My friend and I had 9 kids altogether which the youngest 3 are 1 year olds turning 2 this year. When we mentioned their ages he made a smart comment about himself just turning 21 yesterday, that he didnt believe us. By the end of the ride, when it was slowing down so we could get off, he made another comment to the oldest kid we had with us, 14yo girl, that he was pretty sure a horse isn't meant to be rode backwards so she can turn around or get off.... When the ride was already over.
This was my first experience at this wonderland and quite frankly dont want to return because of the lack of respect and enthusiasm from the staff.
Drive all the way down here from Philly to find out it doesn t open till 1 o clock in the afternoon kind of ridiculous if you ask me
Great rides - lots of childhood memories here. The younger set will enjoy Gillian's more than the older kids - they'll go more for Playland's.
Great amusement park for children that still can attract teenagers and young adults as well.
Great place for little kids (and big kids) Great wristband deals and love the winter deals on tickets.
Wonderful for the kids, really pretty at night with all the lights.
The young employees need to engage with the children, or at least smile. They acted like they didn't want to be there.
They have an okay selection of rides, but they're a little pricey when you consider how old they are at this point. Kids will likely be left wanting more when you're out of tickets and ready to move on. Also, they're not really enforcing the mandated masks they have signs about.
This is the wonderland that John Mayer compares women's bodies to.
Used to be a great place to go, but now it seems that Gillian's only intent is to rape the public for as much money as possible. FOUR tickets for the Carousel ride that used to be ONE? (And four tickets for all the toddler riders that used to be two or three.) A five dollar service charge for using an ATM! Five dollars for cotton candy -- that isn't even freshly made!
So sorry, but when it seemed like a friendly place, we were happy to bring the kids there several times a summer. No more.
Rides are getting a little out dated. Most haven't changed since I worked a summer there 20 years ago. We bought 70 tickets for $50. Young children rides are 4 tickets and adult rides are 6+. If you are in the area there are two choices, Wonderland and Castaway Cove. Both are similar but Castaway has some updated options but is smaller.
Very over rated $ 10.00 for one ride on a roller coaster per person.
Super tall ferris wheel, where you can see the North end of the island.
Saturday night on a memorial day weekend, and the lines were great and moved fast!
Great time, I went here all the time as a kid and now my kids go here and have a blast. Only problem is that it hasn't changed at all since I was a child. They need to modernize, digital wristbands or passes would be way more convenient then the ticket books.
We go every year, this is the better amusement park on the boardwalk for smaller children and babies. There are adult rides as well, but Pirates Cove is better for older kids and adults. Get ready to spend HUNDREDS of dollars, especially if you have more than one kid. The all-you-can-ride bracelets are the best bet.
Love to come here. My daughter loves the rides, and I confess that I do too!
So much fun to see that families are still enjoying the rides like we did. I stopped specifically to see the Merry-go-round...a really beautiful one. The horses are all updated..all white with colorful details. My old favorite, the grey, looks great in white. I hope they restore the artwork on the canopy...salt spray is not kind to paint but the scenes deserve the work! Oh...they still give riders a chance at the brass ring!
Although rides are not cheap (typical will cost 5 tokens), kids love the rides, atmosphere is fun, food is great. A yearly treat to roll in summer vacation
Not an inexpensive place when you have very young children and you have to pay for yourself to go with them on rides, but Gillian's is magical and transports you back to boardwalks as they were decades ago (how I imagine they were anyways). All sorts of carnival/ boardwalk rides and an arcade next door-- you couldn't ask for more. Mini rollercoasters, spin machines, bumper cars, boats, and carousels. Definitely check it out if in ocean city with the kids, or if you want to relive some nostalgia.
Always a fun experience. Good for people of all ages!
My kid really loved it! There are rides for all kids and grown-ups of all ages!
