Amazing combination between forest and park, bridges crossing ponds, variety of birds, incredible trees with superb sceneraries and views of London Skyline from the top of Parlament Hill . It is ideal for running and walking routes if you want to be surrounded by beautiful nature. In the beginning of autumn the colours of the Heath are beyond beauty. It can be combined with a visit to Kenwood House that os alocated in the middle of the Heath (free entrance)

One of the Nicest and biggest park in London, easy reachable by train/overground.
From the highest part of the park you have an amazing view of London, make sure you come here when the sky is clear to enjoy it!
And you can't miss this park in the summer, it has 3 pounds you can swim in it :)

Hampstead Heath is the real thing: not a park, but a genuinely wild green area that covers many many acres - hills, fields, woods, streams, trees, birds. Ideal for long explorations and adventures. We are very fortunate to have such an open space in the middle of our city.

Hampstead Heath is famous for its expansive greenery, it's views from Parliament Hill and its swimming ponds.
I can't comment on the pools as we didn't take a dip, and the views from Parliament Hill are indeed worth the short climb, but the one thing that really made an impact on us was the size of the place. We got utterly, utterly lost here. Even armed with a vague online map we got completely turned around and ended up not even making it to Kenwood House or the animal enclosures as planned. This isn't a huge complaint as the scenery is so lush that it's pleasant simply walking around. However some signs or maps within the park would have made a HUGE difference to our experience.
Please note that the park, despite its size, is also very busy. Especially with dog walkers. We actually loved seeing all the different breeds but if you have allergies or don't like dogs this is not the place for you.
Finally, if you do one thing here make sure it's visiting the pergola. It's a beautiful piece of architecture with some stunning gardens in the surrounding area.

Huge woodland park in North London with trees, bushes, pathways, grass, birds, ponds, benches, very nice relaxing place for walking, cycling and family picnics in Summer.

Moreover, there is a "ladies only" swimming pond (men not allowed).

Beautiful place far away from London to view all of the centre, but close enough to see it from Parliament Hill. The northern parts are more untamed, but not really wild. Great for trail running and jogging and also just walking around. Take care to read the special bylaws on the homepage.

My favourite place to go to. Pergola Gardens which is inside West Heath is a must specially this spring and summer. Hopefully they can clean up West Heath of used tissue paper, condoms and syringes left by those trying an adventure at night.

A huge park or a forest i could tell with many big trees streams and ponds. Many routs to walk or bicycle. Fresh air and cool climate. There are toilets and potable water fountain. Great place for exercise, running, hiking, relaxing. Approximately 15 minutes from the underground by foot. There are some cafe restaurants nearby the area and it's a great place for groups too. Explore it.
