This is a wonderful place to visit. It's location is far enough away from local traffic so that it feels very isolated. This allows you to focus on the beauty and art that surrounds this property. I enjoyed my visit and only wish I had started earlier in the day to be able to take everything in. It is certainly worth a visit.

Tea by the sea is definitely an experience everyone should do once. They treat you to seasonal food with delectable tea and amusing wait staff. I would like to mention Efrain Pesina for his personal detail to attention prior to my appointment for the tea. Jacob and Peter made our experience a very memorable one. Thank you everyone for being an amazing team.

the most beautiful museum I've ever been to until the build the Getty Center which too the prize. Great pictorial depicting the conflict between Greek rationalism and Eastern ignorance about interpreting nature

Tea by the Sea for Me, please! Peaceful, graceful, delicious . They even made a tea meal for my special needs diet. One of the waiters serenaded Spanish love songs. Loved it so much, I'm going back next week.

Spur of the moment decision to visit Getty Villa. Originally drove to Getty Museum, only to find out it is closed on Mondays. The attendant offered tickets to the Villa, so we drove over to PCH to the villa. Total surprise at the grandeur and artifacts located at the Getty Villa! Walking the grounds transports you to rustic Italy. The vegetation, architecture, and views invite you to let your mind wander, and envision what it must have been like to be an aristocrat in ancient Italy. The site feeds your architectural curiosity, as well as your desire to see and learn of ancient artifacts. In addition, the location and superb natural gardens increase your awareness and appreciation of nature. A surprise vista is when you are leaving the facility on the 3rd level, walking toward the parking elevators. The vista is a surreal view of the Pacific Ocean framed by the canyon walls! This view alone makes the visit worthwhile. My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed the visit, and recommend the tour to everyone.

Compared to the Getty Center, I think the Getty Villa is not a must-see attraction. This building is modeled after an ancient Roman manor, and there are also a large number of Roman and Greek exhibits, suitable for understanding the history and culture of the year. Uber will be more convenient to get in because parking spaces are limited and reservations are required. There is a free tour guide at the front desk. You can pay attention to some interesting patterns and sculptures if you are walking around. There is a cafe outside the villa where you can eat and drink. Few people are suitable for taking photos with internet celebrities during working days.

An incredible display of Roman and Mediterranean art. With the Pacific bordering one side and the mountains on the others, there couldn't be a more perfect setting. Architecturally, the villa is a spectacle - its amazing to think that this was an actual residence. The real treasure, though, is what is contained inside. The grounds are fun to explore. As well, the restaurant provides seating with great views, complete with decent wines and good food. Kids tend to really like the place as well.

The Getty Villa is a beautiful replica of an ancient Roman coastal villa. It appropriately house Greek and Roman art. The setting in Malibu is spectacular. No admission but there is a parking fee to park in the new parking structure. A must see sometime for everyone who lives here.

Amazing museum with ancient Greek and Roman focus. The architecture of the Villa is excellent and offers a view into the past that few other museums in the world, except for an actual visit to Italy, would bring to California.

I've spent here more than 3 hours. As an architecture lover I enjoyed the architecture tour. The guide provided a lot of information and many details about Roman Empire And Greek cultures. I also love their shop. Bought here a book and 2 note books.

This Villa is out of series ... it impressed me as Archeology, History proves the authenticity and veracity of the Bible. The role played by the world powers, the Greek mythology, the Roman and the false Religion to keep humanity in ignorance ... they lied to him one after another, with pagan symbolism and to this day is still being questioned the sovereignty of the god, Jehovah ... but Satan who is the father of lies and deceived all humanity has little time left and all his accomplices will soon be destroyed, the Kingdom of God emerging and that sovereignty being claimed it belongs to the creator of the universe.

I was surprised to know, that Getty has never visited Malibu and kept a villa from the UK. Magnificent ornamental gardens and ponds and an indescribable collection of Assyrian, Greek and Roman art are amazing.

It was absolutely beautiful: the statues, pottery, fountains, architecture, everything.

I also really enjoyed the kids area. They did a spectacular job of making it interesting for the kids and parents alike. When we went, there was also a craft table where they helped you make an authentic perfume of the ancient world.

10/10 would do again

Absolutely beautiful place. The exhibits and the gardens were stunning. It was my first time coming here and was blown away. Being right next the ocean made for a beautiful atmosphere. Very affordable as well, only had to pay for parking. Walked the gardens at both the beginning and end of the day and got two very different experiences that were lovely. Is amongst the most emersive history museums in LA.

My first visit to The Getty Villa was not planned; I happened across a sign in the Pacific Coast Highway directing visitors to take the next exit. A few minutes online through the phone and I had a reservation, so I went in. Oh, and it is free too.
After just a few minutes inside touring exhibits, I fell in love with everything. In fact, I loved it so much I went home and asked my girlfriend to go there with me. We had a great time.

I once came here for the architecture tour and was told about how beautiful the gargoyles in the atrium's opening were when it rained in Malibu because they would spout water down into the pool below. So today - stoked about the rain - I drove out to the Villa to discover that this aforementioned architectural moment is in fact an impossibility as the Villa puts a glass covering over the roof which inhibits the water from draining towards and ultimately out of the gargoyles in the atrium.

Thoroughly disappointing, but still a good place.

A really neat experience. The Museum is not overwhelming large. The cafe has great food and very nice patio. A beautiful combination of pretty gardens, 2-story recreation of a Roman villa, Ocean views, and Greek and Roman Statues and artifacts.

Fantastic collection and great surroundings. Also, a great variety of exhibitions. The time interactive and family friendly displays were especially good. However, the price of parking is steep at $15. Check out the flexible parking pass that is linked the the Getty Center to get get the most of out the cost.

This is the original Getty before the 405 / Bel Air Getty Center was built in the 90s. It was built in the 70s and has been maintained beautifully ever since, with a new exhibit having just been completed/renovated on the top floor this year. Highly recommended if you're into Roman/Greek history and you have a penchant for all things "Pompeii" and "Mount Vesuvius." "Free" entry that you must reserve in advance, but they still charge $15 for parking.

I would have given this place a full five stars, but they no longer maintain their beautiful blue pool of water because of the drought (even though everyone knows 80% of CA's water is used by the agricultural industry and no amount of conversation by anyone else will make much of a dent).

I also refuse to give 5 stars because despite the fact that there is PLENTY of street parking available, they force you to park inside so they can charge you the $15 parking fee. The excuse is that they have an agreement with Malibu's homeowners not to let museum patrons park outside the museum, but legally speaking, that smells like BS to me. Malibu's homeowners could control parking through street signs and city ordinances if they really wanted to. The truth is, the $6 billion Getty Trust (largest art trust in the WORLD) still wants your $15 entry fee (soon to be $20) but they label it as "parking" so they can say the entry is still free.

So unless you arrive here by bus (and are somehow able to prove this to entrance guards), they won't let you walk in unless you're in a vehicle and you pay the $15 "parking" fee.

Beautiful replica of the Herculaneum villa in Naples! Worth it, even though parking is a little expensive, because you get to see beautiful wall paintings and gardening. The exhibits are always of excellent quality!
