I once came here for the architecture tour and was told about how beautiful the gargoyles in the atrium's opening were when it rained in Malibu because they would spout water down into the pool below. So today - stoked about the rain - I drove out to the Villa to discover that this aforementioned architectural moment is in fact an impossibility as the Villa puts a glass covering over the roof which inhibits the water from draining towards and ultimately out of the gargoyles in the atrium.

Thoroughly disappointing, but still a good place.
