Spur of the moment decision to visit Getty Villa. Originally drove to Getty Museum, only to find out it is closed on Mondays. The attendant offered tickets to the Villa, so we drove over to PCH to the villa. Total surprise at the grandeur and artifacts located at the Getty Villa! Walking the grounds transports you to rustic Italy. The vegetation, architecture, and views invite you to let your mind wander, and envision what it must have been like to be an aristocrat in ancient Italy. The site feeds your architectural curiosity, as well as your desire to see and learn of ancient artifacts. In addition, the location and superb natural gardens increase your awareness and appreciation of nature. A surprise vista is when you are leaving the facility on the 3rd level, walking toward the parking elevators. The vista is a surreal view of the Pacific Ocean framed by the canyon walls! This view alone makes the visit worthwhile. My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed the visit, and recommend the tour to everyone.
