Amazing food and service! Might have to break out of your personal bubble, but it's definitely a place worth coming back to again!

Omakase seems to be a new thing on the menu! Got the 15pcs for 65, good variety of sushi, the rock cod was my favorite, so juicy and succulent!! (Left hand side)
It's good. It's priced just right for you to order one of everything (sushi).
Got there early (5:15) and got a table for three immediately. Super friendly staff, reasonable prices, and very welcoming to my kids (3 & 5). This place is a favorite and will definitely be back.
Best Sushi in California!! Friendly and yummy and won't break the bank either!!
Food is good but be prepared to wait for a while...
the best places to get Japanese food in the bay! Well worth the wait, best if you show up when they open.
Barely any seating (unique). They take their food seriously and prices are great.
their california roll was worse than grocery store one, mushy and overpriced. not coming here ever! and the server was not friendly for some reason
Good food, great service, tiny space with amazing prices!
Cute hole-in-the-wall type Japnese food. The fish is usually fresh and their specials are usually great choices. Expect a short wait and don't veer too far off: they WILL skip you name if you arent there. Cute place for a date, but definitely not good fpr groups.
Not sure why this place is so popular. Yes, their prices are cheap but then so is the food - - small portions of low quality sushi and rolls. The wait and low prices are NOT worth what you get in my opinion.
The sushi has always been some of the best in the east Bay for reasonable prices given their variety and quality. My bro always gets the fatty torro which is fantastic and I love the fancy rolls. I usually opt for the rainbow roll which gives me a lot of variety and freshness. I also love that they offer both real and imitation crab.
Great salmon and tomago nigiri at an even better price. I'll be back for sure!
Really love this spot! The sushi is great and super inexpensive. It definitely is a hole in a wall, with probably only 6-8 small tables. Most people just get food for to-go, but I've eaten here and service was pretty good.
It was an eye opening experience to get salmon skin salad here after having a very rewarding introduction to it in Los Angeles, this past weekend. It was wet with mushy wetgreens. Also ordered Dragon Salad at the same time. Never order food again that is not seen in advance. Taking it home...hope I'm pleasantly surprised. Refuse to let me sit at the one open table in front, stuck me in the corner 4 inches from the restroom door.
A must go to place for . I've been coming here for over a decade and has been consistent in their service and food.
Very limited space but likely the best sushi in Oakland.
Such a great place. Probably the best value sushi in the East Bay. They have a wide variety of options on rolls, nigiri and sashimi. The place is a bit of a hole in the wall atmosphere and the waits can be extremely long but it's a place with a great vibe and solid food at a reasonable price.
LOVE GETA! We come here maybe twice a month, at least once for sure. The sushi is good and the price is just silly! Would recommend only parties of 2, def no more than 4. The wait can be long but it's totally worth it. And all the servers are really nice! So don't be impatient and rude people! It's a 20 seat hole in the wall & I think they do their best :)
its tiny, cheap, and the fish isn't that great. get some kinda special roll that doesn't rely on fish quality.
Check the wall for the appetizers before you order from the menu!
Geta here for the excellent sushi. It's like shark week at your table. Straight destroying those fishies.
Rawr
Pretty good when you can get through. They don t answer their phone nor have a way to order online. Guess I ll go up the street to one of the other sushi places right near Geta
Closes at 8:30 and is the size of shoe box. Good food
Blink and you might miss them. It s been forever since I ve been out for lunch. I got the chicken teriyaki and veggie tempura combo and it was delicious. I ll definitely be back soon.
Great sushi, fast service. Cramped seating and be prepared to wait if you go at peak lunch or dinner hours, but if you time it right you won't have to wait long. One of our favorite lunch places.
Best sushi in Oakland! Friendly staff, fast service.
Really great service and reasonable prices for quality of fish!
Best sushi in the East Bay! It's VERY small, so there's always a wait, unless you arrive right at opening time!
Great value Japanese food, quick, no frills, small shop, easier for take out
All rice. Couldn t taste any fish. This place is highly rated on google because it s super cheap. Worst sushi I ve had in years.
A hole in the wall with the most amazing good. If you want to eat in, prepare to wait because there's always a line. Ordering out if the best approach!
One of the best places to get sushi in the east bay. It's super small seating only 20 people maybe. It's worth the wait though. Their service is fast and nice. All their rolls are made to order and delicious.
Great food, good quantity and quality, crowded for a reason, attentive service, convenient location, free EV charging in the adjacent lot (1-2 spots) and nice treats come with the bill... Pocky!
The price they are charging at the restaurant now is double the online listed prices. My bill ended up being $93 instead of the regular $50-60. They are charging $7.50 for an avocado roll. This is very dishonest practice. Google is giving them a cheap price rating, which is false advertising and not true. Very disappointed that they are not updating their online listed prices, and I will not be coming back.
love this place! delicious sushi- super affordable, super delicious, the servers are so sweet! The place is small true and plays some rockn' electro swing so it's pretty modern so not your standard sit down quiet place. mmm so delicious! also they won a lifetime customer with a special gift of Pocky :-)
Great place. Delicious sushi. Decently priced. Always busy - wait time is not too bad bc servers and kitchen move extremely fast
Quaint little corner place on the busy Piedmont Ave. Prices are very good, and the service has always been friendly and personal. Wait times can get really long during popular times, better to come during their off-peak times or call for to-go.
Fairly pricey for pretty thin slices of sashimi. Mediocre food.
Excellent Japanese food; take out. Worth the 20 minute wait. Nice evening anyway.
Great affordable sushi. It can get a little busy during the lunch and dinner rush so expect a line! If you don't like cramped places I would not recommend but I sure enjoy it.
Great bites, seems authentic, judging by the japanese customers lined up outside
Great food and cheap price! Place is really small and has limited seating so if you go during a lunch or dinner rush, be prepared to wait outside especially if you're coming with a group.
Close quarters but SO worth it, best sushi and sashimi in town by far.
Their phone always rings off the hook so I can never order in advance. When I arrived to wait in line and order, they recommended calling at lunch for dinner orders. Kinda odd that they don't have a second phone line since they are so popular. But the sushi (rainbow and also inari) was good.
This place has the best beef teriyaki I've ever had. The entree is pretty big and it comes with miso soup, side salad, a healthy portion of hot rice, and a small portion of these cold noodles that are freaking addicting. The beef is also delicious. It's tender and grilled medium rare to medium, which is amazing since it doesn't make it dry. And the sauce. I have no clue what teriyaki sauce they use but it is insanely yummy. It's not cloyingly sweet like most teriyaki sauces; it is perfectly balanced and it goes so well with the beef and the steaming rice. I wake up craving this shiz.
The sushi is good too. The fried California roll is made with real crab, which is unique and really good. The fish is fresh and they have a wide verity of rolls. There's an extra sushi/appetizer menu on the wall if you want more specialty rolls.
The restaurant is pretty small and it is definitely an eat and get out kind of place. This isn't a problem because you get your food quickly once you sit down. If you're waiting for a table, you'll find yourself mentally screaming at the diners to hurry up because the food inside smells so good.
Amazing sushi, fast and delicious, good prices, courteous service, small space and obviously a lot of takeout going on. Highest recommendation!
I stumbled upon this place when I was craving soup, and I was so impressed with their very reasonable sushi prices that I also went for the Chef's Special of sashimi. I am really pleased with the quality and taste of their fish - having gotten the same order twice now, it was really consistent, and had none of that "I've been frozen and refrozen" blandness that some sushi fish has. The soups are all very inexpensive and really hit the spot as well. Friendly, efficient service despite always being packed with diners and take-out orders. It's a small area so I wouldn't suggest going with more than 3-4 people (2 is ideal)...My new favorite spot for simple Japanese!
So in love with this place, amazing food and services.
Cheap, fast, delicious sushi. This place is literally a whole in the wall sort of spot, it's tiny so it's a bit more difficult to get in to eat there vs ordering food to go. If you want good affordable sushi this is the place to go.
Quick and tasty take out. Limited seating, expect a wait if you want to dine in.
Been eating here for years. Really good food and great portions for cheap. It's a little place and usually full so don't expect to eat there.
A cute hole-in-the-wall restaurant with fresh sashimi.
Great food wonderful service excellent food for everyone to enjoy
I am usually disappointed with Japanese food in the Bay Area in particular. Geta on the other hand is the best Japanese restaurant I have been to in the Bay Area. The fish is FRESH and they have a large variety of fish you can't find at other places. Everything is very traditional Japanese.
I love this place... its small and you always have to wait for a table but worth every minute you wait and worth every penny! I love their sashimi always fresh! All their fish is soo fresh every time. I've been a fan of this spot for over 3years now, never a bad dish n never have sent my plate back.
Delicious spot for lunch. Definitely love the rolls here!
Love the food here. Been a regular for a dozen years. New serving staff still finding their legs...
I love this little hole in the wall place!
We drive from SF to here to grub quick sushi dinner.
It is reasonable, authentic and casual sushi place you can go.
Fantastic sushi at very reasonable prices, inside a tiiiiny room. The only downside to Geta is the wait; although I don't have too much experience there on weeknights, be prepared to wait a good half-hour for a table on the weekends around dinner time. Also, be sure to check their specials before ordering.
Tiny spot but worth the trip. Very fresh well cut sushi. We have eaten here several times and it it time I give them the stars they deserve.
Love this place with it's great short list of foods plus specials always crowded and worth the waiting so that you'll talk story with your friends and party members very friendly staffmembers also quick takeout service
Hole in the wall but some amazing sushi creations. I'm from Canada so it was nice to try some local options.
