There is so much to do here. As an adult, I loved every bit of it. I went on a Monday which was free for military. It was pretty crowded, but not to the point I felt others took away from my experience. It's in a convenient location where you can check out some other attractions Atlanta has to offer just by walking.

Really great! The shows are really great, it's not too much, there isn't much stress. It's incredibly expensive to buy anything inside, but that's understandable when going to a place like this. Lots of "wows" and a fun times.

Wonderful place to visit bid you are in the area. A lot of different things to see and show your kids.

I recommend getting there early and save about $10 per ticket if you get the early entry only.

As always the place stays packed and a lot of walking and some longer lines. The benefit is that it's all inside so it's cool during the summer.

perfect place for a family trip, or a date with that special someone. no shortage of awesome sea animals and almost nothing the staff cant tell you about them. if this aquarium lacks anything at all I'd say it's the food choices at the cafe, but hey...you didn't really come for the food right?

We loved going here. This is an amazing aquarium. We went two days in a row. There is one section where the tank makes a tunnel and has a slow moving sidewalk so you can stand and look up at the sea life all around you. We even got to see the whale shark feeding. Amazing place would definitely recommend and will go back next time we are in Atlanta.

One of the largest aquariums of the world they host many rare species in them. They have categorized based on geography and also have special shows for sea lions, otters and a massive show for dolphins which is a must watch attraction. They also have a VR experience which will attract kids. They have sleepover option as well and you can watch the sharks, whales and fish all night long comfortably lying doen. Ample parking space available with accessible approach as well. Parking can be planned accordingly to visit both aquarium and coca cola factory on the same day as they are literally few 100 feet away from each other. Must visit place for family and kids.

You shouldn't miss Georgia Aquarium when you are visiting Atlanta. I highly recommend checking it out. It's very big, well organized and clean. Also Dolphin show and Sea Lion show is amazing and not to be missed. 4d moves are awesome too, I liked Happy Feet. Great experience at Ocean Voyage, Ocean Ballroom and Tropical Driver. The only thing is the food is little bit expensive and not so good.

It's different when your children are inquisitive about marine life and not just looking at the beauty of the ocean. Beyond education they teach conservation and also bring awareness to the plastic pollution endangering our oceans.

Overall it was really impressive. There's some areas inside that will probably always look permanently unfinished and warehousey, but little things like that, the occasional bit of grime, scratches on the glass, and the theme park priced food can't seem to detract from the experience of seeing whale sharks circle above you or being interacted with on a soul level by a porpoise. Thumbs up, just be sure bring a sack lunch.

It is a little expensive especially the lunch, but you can easily spend a whole day at this aquarium. Definitely take the behind the seances tour and if you are a certified diver make sure to buy your tickets online weeks in advance. Buying your tickets online save you some money. Will be coming back after the expansion 2020 to update this review.

This was an amazing experience. The Aquarium exhibits were breathe taking. I love how they section off the different types of habitats. The large walk through aquarium was amazing. The large viewing window was phenomenal. The whale sharks were spectacular. If you are in Atlanta this is must see.

Visited couple of aquariums across states and this always stands as the best. The exhibits are large and very detailed covering sea creatures across continents. Would recommend starting as early you can to cover entire aquarium in one full day. Completely indoor attraction worth spending time with family and kids.

To be able to have the opportunity to relax from ones own life, to briefly observe the movements, the daily regimens and livelihood of the underwater creatures, was simply rewarding! I was immediately engulfed by the scenery before even entering the Aquarium which gave me a preview of what was in-store! I am glad I had the chance to visit the aquarium B.C. (before COVID)

I have never been to such a large aquarium in my life. Georgia Aquarium had lot of water species and I missed the Dolphin show just by a minute late before the last show. I wish I had more time. They have scuba diving, but you need to undergo a day prior training to be eligible to attend the scuba diving. They take you into the water and you can experience the swim between those large fishes. pppch.. :( .. i missed it... worth for money... Must see place in Georgia.

Great place. Very over crowded even on a weekday. Some of the areas are small. The whale Shark is amazing. Entrance is not easy to find right now during 2019 construction. This could have been made better.

This was our third visit, first time seeing the dolphin show. Do not miss the dolphin show, wait for it! It is well worth it. The facility is just so impressive and immersive. Spectacular presentation of all the various species. It gets crowded, like super crowded! Well worth the cost of admission.

I wanted to give them a lower rating because of the poor crowd management. They sell tickets for time-slots but do not enforce it, it becomes so crowded that you cannot move, I definitely think it could be very dangerous in anything ever happens but I looked past that because of how great the overall experience has been, even now on our third visit.

Had a very good time. The Georgia aquarium has a huge respect for our active military as well as the public safety sector. we purchased they behind the scenes tour that allows you 45 minutes in areas that are normally off limits to the public. Allowing you to see the size and complexity of the Georgia aquarium. As many people don't know this is a completely non-for-profit debt-free facility. The money they make from the proceeds of people's attendance goes directly to help aquatic programs across the country and the world such things as Coral gardening and whale shark research. This is also a long-term rescue facility for aquatic species that would not survive being released back into their natural habitats. It was great seeing whale sharks and manta rays in the same location.

I've been to many aquariums and I highly recommend this one as one of the best ones I've ever been to the staff is friendly and very knowledgeable. Planning my next trip back where I plan to take advantage of their dive tour.

Its not often you get a "Disney-experience" away from Disney attractions, right? Wrong.

This is my third time going to the aquarium and I have enjoyed it more every time. The workers (and volunteers) really make the whole experience feel more personal. This past time I had multiple conversations with some of the workers who were more than happy to talk about the exhibits. Many things we talked about I never would've known if they weren't so open and friendly.
The aquarium itself is top notch. The facility cares for the animals and wants them to be comfortable and it shows. On top of the the AMOUNT of things to look at is always incredible to me.

It is a constant thing for me to loom forward to every year, and I can't wait to go back next year for the shark exhibit!

Awesome aquarium. Highly recommend visiting. Easily can spend 5 hours in there on a weekend. It got very busy Saturday when we were there, making it harder to see some exibits, so I would try going on a week day next time. Staff was kind and helpful. Shows were good. Parking was easy and only $12 with ticket purchase.

Parts were under construction so we had to work around that. We were part of a tour that arrived at 5:30 PM so we only saw the sea lion show. Several minutes prior they show commercials for the aquarium on the monitors. The last dolphin show was at 5 PM. Also, no pictures of the animals performing.

As a SCUBA diver, I've seen a lot of under sea life but I've never seen a whale shark in the wild. That was interesting.

Lots to see and well worth a trip but go earlier and get a seat for the shows at least 15 minutes early.

A beautiful glimpse into our aquatic wilderness. There's lots to see here from gigantic ocean seascapes to modest river habitats. They have whale sharks, dolphins, sea lions, piranhas, and a whole assortment of exhibits. I visited with a city pass as there are tons to see and do here. I definitely recommend a visit.

Omg.. I been here 8 years ago and they upgraded the place, very very interactive for kids. Games thru out the aquarium, lost off interesting information.
Did I mention that the aquariums are truly AMAZING! Worth every penny. Did the after 4 PM ticket. It was still extremely busy. Plus get an early spot on the dolphin show.
We walked around for 2,5 hours.

Absolutely stunning and world-class aquarium. Too many people today: not suprising as it's a Friday and holiday.

I never imagined a tank could hold a pair of whale sharks. This tank had 4! Also a few manta rays and so many other large fish.

Regarding cost: adult 39.99 kid 33.99 seniors 33.99.

Look online for coupons! I saved $13 by buying online.

This place is awesome! It was our second visit in as many years. It has become a family tradition on our way from Illinois to Florida. The tanks are spectacular, the layout well thought, the staff friendly and the kids absolutely love it. I highly recommend this. I mean they have a tank with Whale Sharks in it! Need I say more???

Unreal exhibits! We went afternoon, arrived at 5pm and avoided the crowds. My three year old enjoyed herself immensely and didn't want to leave when the aquarium was closing. My 7 month old has a great time too!!

I can see how the layout could make the place very congested. Seems strange to have all the exhibits enter and exit off a main hub that's a bit crowded. I'd recommend bringing your own food and drink, the options there were slim and more expensive than Disneyland!

If you're really into aquariums it would absolutely be worth. It can be a little crowded but there are some places where it's thins out, overall I feel like no age group is excluded and it's a nice place for families. Overall it's a fantastic place to visit and everyone is very kind. The only reason I didn't give it five stars because it's incredibly expensive for admission. At least in my opinion.

Nice clean place with a layout that let's you see all the exhibits fairly easy, even with a crowd. the price is expensive if you ask me, a 4 year old ticket is the same 35 dollars as an adult ticket. I didn't feel they had as much to see as other aquariums I've been to.

We had a great time here.

The Dolphins Experience was very fun and I informative.
The workers are great and very knowledgeable AND entertaining.

I've been to numerous aquariums BUT this one had creatures I had never seen nor heard of.

We prepaid our tickets and for parking. Come to find out the garage WE used was NOT the right garage for the free parking.

The only drawback was the gift shop. I collect bottle openers and purchased one that looked like a pink and green mermaid along with an aluminum cup with the aquarium logo. My total was over $30, yet when I asked for bag for my purchases, I was informed I had to purchase one.

No.

Even though it's currently under renovation, it's still a wonderful place. The staff is friendly and welcoming. There are a number of additional programs for which you can sign up.
For the otter lover, they have sea otters and river otters!!
A number of hands on displays as well.
We liked it better than the Boston Aquarium.

A waste of money... A big space full of places to eat & to buy merchandise. We have enjoyed the aquarium in Chattanooga Tn for years & wanted to see what the hype was about in Georgia. If you want to look at a bunch of people & a few sea creatures then help yourself. Chattanooga aquarium has a wide selection of sea life & animals to view. A total waste of money & time. I sat down & read a book. It's terrible.

Labor Day weekend 2019.... we are from Greensboro NC, the aquarium was well worth the drive and time. Organized chaos for a little bit because of the amount of people going in and out. But the lines moved quickly, everyone was very nice and the aquarium/fish/sea life are absolutely beautiful!

The layout is very helpful, with a central, mall-like court and the various exhibits branching off of it. This makes it easier to visit the aquarium without the exhaustion of long walks. The whale sharks are breathtaking, and remain the most magnificent exhibit in my opinion. The dolphin show was also spectacular, although I think the jury is still out on whether having dolphins in captivity is a food thing. I must say, however, that while the Georgia Aquarium outshines the Tennessee aquarium in it's easy layout and its whale sharks, the Tennessee Aquarium wins as an overall wildlife and nature exhibit.

My family and I, a party of 3, visited the Aquarium today. We d visited the Atlanta Zoo and were very impressed as to how they were handling Covid-19. Upon visiting your website and reading everything set in place to protect us from Covid-19, we proceeded to purchase tickets for today, June 30th. We were pretty impressed with the temperature checks, the screening, and the way the counters were set up. We entered through the ballroom and were greeted by the whale sharks in the window of the first glass, there were belts to separate us from the other guests. It didn t seem to be 6 feet apart and there wasn t anyone enforcing families to take turns or to enforce social distancing. We proceeded to walk through the lobby area and into the first exhibit, Ocean Voyager. We got to the conveyer belt and although we saw the markers on the floor, none of the families before us took them into consideration nor was the worker there enforcing them to properly social distance. We go to the next area of the exhibit, the wall where you can see the whale sharks, and it was a mess. There was no kind of order for people to go up to the squares and see the fish up close, no one was social distancing, and people weren t wearing masks. I understand that your new policy doesn t go into effect until tomorrow but it makes no sense to not enforce masks when the numbers are and have been going up as of today. I felt lied to because of what I was seeing while there and it not being anything like what was described on the website. No social distancing was enforced in any of the exhibits. We weren t able to get up close to any of the glasses because there wasn t any kind of order and we weren t able to keep a safe distance from other visitors because there was no one enforcing it. Our trip to the Aquarium today felt as stressful as a trip to the grocery store is in these times. We expected the Aquarium to have this under control to where we could really enjoy the exhibits but were let down. I suggest having your workers enforce the policies you claim to have in place. I suggest you come up with a route through exhibits that allows people to follow in an orderly fashion and having workers there to make sure people are taking turns to go up to the glasses, and I suggest heavily enforcing the masks because until then you will be putting your employees, contractors, and visitors at risk. We expected more from Georgia Aquarium.

We flew from Las Vegas specifically for a day trip to the Georgia Aquarium. We bought behind the scenes and sea otter interaction passes. We also watched the Dolphin and sea lion shows. We have been to the Aquarium of the Pacific and Monterey Bay Aquarium but the Georgia Aquarium is really the best aquarium we have ever been to. The Sea Otter interaction alone made it an amazing experience when you add the rest of the shows/exhibits to it it just gets better. It's completely amazing to see what they have accomplished in downtown Atlanta. Totally worth the trip.
