Today we took our niece to the aquarium and the experience was not a good one. Social distancing was not being practiced at all. There were too many people crowded in for anyone to keep at a safe distance.

This place is a must visit for people who love marine life and who wish to see some of the amazing animals up close; the dolphin show was excellent and breathtaking; the sea lions show was good as well. Highly recommended to arrive early and take your time in each section, the prices of tickets vary a lot over weekdays and weekends, on site purchase or online purchase so please do a proper survey; parking is huge and convenient the only problem being you have to pay the parking fee at the payment machines located only at the ground floor entrance to the elevators.food court and gift shop available for those who like to spend their time and money there. All in all a memorable experience

This is such and great experience for the family and the kids love it. We have visited several aquariums in different states, but this has been the best by far. So much to do and see. Loved every minute of it. Will bring them back if we visit GA again.

Best aquarium I have ever been too. Friendly and professional staff ready to assist with directions and suggestions when asked. Food court second to none and unlimited choices in souvenirs and keepsakes. Plenty of restrooms and places to sit when the body requires one to take a brief break.

The aquarium is undergoing an expansion of its shark exhibition at the moment so one of the main attractions is currently unavailable. Additionally the layout is very disconnected in their attempt to section out the types/locations of animals... honestly the only real draw here is the whale sharks of which they have 4. I'm not upset at them or their staff, but generally speaking, it was a bit underwhelming.

Magnificent! You can spend a day here and not be tired of seeing the humongous number of species on display. You need to go in early to witness all the shows like the ones with the dolphins. If you go late, you miss out on them but it's much more calm and it's relatively cheaper. It's a place you'd not get tired of, at least I wouldn't.
There's a food court and restrooms too in case you need them.

If you can swing it, paying the extra 15 dollars for the behind the scenes experience is 100% worth it! We were able to see the filtration used in the aquarium, some feeding, some culturing and raising of animals, and many other things! The entire experience was such a great time!

I thoroughly enjoyed my time at this aquarium, compared to others it is quite humane. They give a great deal to help the world's oceans and the environment and a lot of their animals they rescued. I went here with my family and would absolutely never go here, or to any aquarium, on my own. I actually do not think I will be visiting another aquarium again. I'm glad I came, but the entertainment portion is the majority of what is here. It is quite expensive to visit. Raising animals for the sole purpose of human entertainment is just not something I will ever be comfortable with. Some animals look happy. Some are better here. But most do not need to be. The penguins especially look awfully sad. There are too many of them in such a small space. Same with all the fish. None of the sea creatures have any space to get away from each other or from the eyes of selfish humans.

Inadequate viewing windows considering the size ofcrowds. The layout is a bit chaotic. I prefer the Chattanooga aquarium. The woman in charge of one of the touching exhibits was screaming at the visitors. We ended up giving that exhibit a miss because of her horrible screeching tone. I think she should quit working at the aquarium and perhaps work in a men's prison.

What a wonderful place to see aquatic specimens. We were able to get the tickets and parking online. The parking was easy and getting in the door was quick. The staff and people were friendly. Each of the exhibits has people who were very knowledgeable about the display. The dolphin show was amazing. My only complaints but do understand that an establishment must cost a lot to run would be the price of admission and food. The gift shop was also a bit pricey, but you have to get something to take home. Based on the number people visiting, price was no issue. It was packed on a Monday and it was fun. I was very impressed with the Whale Sharks and the South African Penguins. If you haven t been, it is a must. Just make sure you have some money.

Took my family here, and it was amazing. The lines are not bad, and even the staff gave you hints on how to get lower cost tickets. The food is pricey, but that s to be expected. Parking also is a hassle but get there early and here s a tip. When you re done and going back to your vehicle, don t wait in line at the Parking Pay Station but pay at the exit when you insert your parking ticket. Enjoy!

Absolutely beautiful!! The aquariums are amazing! The whale aquarium is so amazing that we sat there for over an hour just watching all the creatures swim. One of the best family trips. Something for all ages! 3 different touch tanks that the kids loved!! The whole place was simply amazing!! However, we bought tickets to go in before 11 am because they were cheaper but lunch was so incredibly expensive that next time we will definitely wait until after lunch to go! I mean we spent $75 on lunch for a family of 4, 2 personal pizzas, a cheese steak, a cheeseburger, and 2 sodas. My sister in law spent $55 on her family of 4. They each got a personal pizza and 2 sodas to share.

We had such a great time. We went the week of New Year, so it was very crowded. We still managed to see almost everything. The dolphin show was fantastic. The moving walkway is a must-do. Overall excellent experience.

This is a spectacular location which was funded by spectacular people to celebrate the world. I was lucky enough to experience the tours which are offered as well as the diving experience in the large tank. I recommend taking a dip if you have time.

The aquarium is great. Our kids had a blast. I had a blast. The whale sharks are amazing and majestic. The manta rays are enormous and beautiful. There are a lot of exhibits. I would definitely recommend being 30-40 minutes early to the dolphin show or you won't get a seat. We barely missed getting seats.

I can not rave ENOUGH about the staff of this aquarium. The aquarium itself is world class and immaculately kept, but the volunteers and employees are what made my family s experience unforgettable.

After being told by a volunteer the whale sharks would be feeding soon, I asked him where the best place to observe them was. When he saw I had a small party of three (me, my mom and my kid sister), he took us to the employees only area of the aquarium to watch the whale sharks feed from the top of the tank. He then spent over an hour with us showing us the back end and educational sections of the aquarium. Incredibly knowledgeable, kind and professional. Throughout the rest of the day, we had exceptional experiences with the other volunteers who were all passionate, kind and eager to help.

The day we went, the aquarium was experiencing exceptionally large crowds (lines to get into the exhibits, could barely move in the main pavilion). We went to buy sodas at the concession, and the cashiers were cheery and efficient despite an endless line. I m sure they had not one second of rest during their shifts, and service was still exceptional. When we complimented them, they were genuinely grateful. Such a great experience!!

My family and I went here in January and it was everything and more that I imagined. I had to be in a wheelchair, due to a surgery I had a few days before going, and it was very accessable. I had wanted to go for awhile before, and it was AMAZING! The dolphins, sea lions and whale sharks were the highlight of the experience. And it was made even more of an awesome experience thanks to the HUGE tank, and the underwater tunnel where sharks, stingrays, whale sharks, ECT would swim right over you. Food was a bit over priced, because you can't bring food or drinks in, so you have to buy it in the aquarium. But overall, it was worth it. Would go back again someday.

What an amazing aquarium! I went on a holiday so the crowd was too big and not many seemed concerned about social distancing but the staff honestly did the best they could.

Aside from rude guests the place was clean, staff beyond friendly, and the animals were great.

I really loved visiting the Georgia Aquarium! As I entered the ticket takers informed me of a deal that was taking place online only that I took full advantage of. The Aquarium is intriguing for guests of all ages. I was able to touch live starfish in an interactive exhibit. I viewed a sea lion show, the only down side is no video or photography is permitted. I also was able to get an up close and personal look at a penguin at their interactive exhibit. During my visit the mother whale was expected to give birth in the coming months and was under close watch. The staff was very informative (and patient) in explaining the many questions that I had regarding the whale pregnancy lol. I would definitely recommend a visit to the Georgia Aquarium.

Always go at least on one of our birthdays a year for the free ticket. A super appreciated birthday gift. Shoot fire, better than half the gifts I get from people I know. I still love the TN aquarium more but we have had almost a 30 year relationship at this point. The massive tank with the whale sharks at GA is my favorite section hands down. I've liked some of the changes over the year. Other changes not so much but I keep coming back. Always park in their garage. Just more convenient with toddlers and strollers in tow. Long time patron, kids love it, will be back soon.

Wonderful aquarium. They have done a great job keeping the social distance guidelines, temp checks and ensuring proper safety. Although, the atmosphere is lax once inside in regards to social distancing(zero effort to prevent people from taking off masks). The experience within the Dolphin show was the best example of effort amid the pandemic for these guidelines. Exhibits were amazing, clean and safe for the animals. I was impressed to see the level of care to represent real-world habitats and maintain a wonderful equilibrium for all of the different species involved.

We absolutely love this place and will certainly be back. If we go to Atlanta. Definitely recommend! Not your usual. Marine life exhibit. There be whales here!

While I don't have the certification I am told that if I Was a certified diver I would be able to get in the tank and swim with some of the exhibit. That makes me want to go get my certification. Definitely a life event.

Great shows and great exhibits. Totally worth it especially after 4pm. The gigantic tank with the whale sharks and rays were mesmerizing, I could have spent all day there. The belugas were also fascinating, blowing air rings and coming up to the window. Each of the sections was a fun and interesting area on its own.

I was so excited about coming here but that only lasted until I walked in. I have seen better aquariums for less. The only thing that this aquarium has that I have yet to see is the whale and dolphins. I really believe that this aquarium isn't worth the hype. Save your money and just view my pics.

For lunch it is better that you take a set meal like burger, pizza instead of salad bar options etc where you need to weigh each item.

A must visit place if you are in and around Atlanta!!!

Great place to visit. When you walk in, there are basically different exhibit entrances scattered around ranging from the Tropics to reefs to oceans. Opportunities for great photos and touching fish are there. Plenty of fish to see. The main Home Depot tank has a tunnel for walking through, which was cool. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Unfortunately, in the evening they close some of the exhibits like the Dolphin one early, and I was unaware of that. Not many sharks, but a new exhibit for them is under construction.

One of the most precious memories I have with my little siblings and my whole family. A great place to take kids! Just be sure to stay sanitized and wear masks during this COVID-19 time. The experience was wonderful. Great place to see ocean creatures and see their beauty! The otters were the best !! I hope to come again with my family members. Parking was a little difficult to find but other than that I would say come around 10am when there isn t a lot of people to see everything and on time! Great to see the improvements that the aquarium is making every year. It is a different experience during COVID-19 but it still exceed my expectations.

Wish the aquarium was bigger and had more species. So I cannot wait for the expansion.

I loved the whale shark and the beluga. The daily feeding are skippable, not much to see. The dolphin celebration was fantastic (especially the 3pm one)! We came on a Tuesday and didn't reserve seat and it was totally fine if you come 15 mins early. The sea lion show was mediocre, cute but not comparable to the dolphin show. The penguin waddle walk was very short but cute if you happen to catch it.

I seriously had the best time ever. The app is terrible I would not recommend using it. It's easy enough using the daily schedule online and also times of shows are posted around the aquarium. The cafe food was delicious, a bit pricey for what you get but standard for "event food". Every single employee there was amazing. They were all so kind and so helpful. I will be back no questions asked!!

Visited from out of town. Not as big as expected (went because of the TV show). Whalensharks were awesome.

However,, for those of you who are COVID concerned this is NOT the place for you. The only "social distancing" was the every other parking space. If they were limiting capacity then I would I hate to see this place under normal operation....there were people everywhere.

This aquarium is amazing. We've been two years in a row (both during hurricane evacuations), and the staff do everything to accommodate visitors. The habitats are stunning, and the Ocean Voyager, in my opinion, is the Pearl of all displays. We just learned of the contributions the aquarium is making to rebuild coral reefs, among other things, and our family is just so thankful to have been able to visit and enjoy.

This is one of the better aquariums around the world (seems to be a tick box exercise for all major cities at the moment!). There s a lot for the children to see with up to 5 or 6 different zones. The recently added Dolphin show adds a different dimension to an aquarium and there s also a great but short 4D cinema experience as well. There s plenty of eating space as well so it doesn t feel over crowded at lunch. I would definitely avoid Fridays which seems to be a school day outing for hundreds of schools! The pricing is a bit odd. Under threes are free but the cost of an adult and child are pretty much the same (around $30) and there s no family tickets available. But all in all worth it because you do get a lot of value for money and it s a minimum 3 to 4 hour experience.
