A breath taking view that make you feel like your right next to the sharks and other creatures. Im going to make it a goal of mine to come back once a year.

A must! This place is awe inspiring. The fact that they have an informative tv show tells you they are doing something right. They have adult whale sharks, yes, multiple adult whale sharks. From watching the show, "The aquarium," on cable's "Animal planet," I learned quite a bit before going to the actual place I had just watched on tv. The staff are very compassionate towards all of the animals and seem to enjoy working here. This place has programs to help injured and sick animals and get them back to the wild or if the animals are orphaned, the young may live here for a while or possibly permanently.
Such a beautiful place! The exhibits are huge and set up to accurately represent the natural environment of the organisms living in them. There's this tunnel, completely made of glass, that crosses through one of the largest tanks in the aquarium. Here you can see all different kinds of sharks, fish, and even the whale shark swimming right over your head. It's magical! It's also a great place to take kids, where everyone in the family can have a good time.
Social distancing is being followed and everyone is wearing masks. We felt very safe here!!
The best aquarium i have been to. Much better than one i have in my home town. I will most certainly go back once the new shark exhibit opens in 2020.
3/7/2020is a day i wont forget. the aquarium was huge. i had a wonderful time . the dolphin show was entertaining. got soaked , but didnt mind it. it is a must see place.
Gets better every time, especially for kids. They have an entire second floor aisle filled with interactive activities and a touch pool. That said, with all it has to offer, the entry fee is a little steep for something you're done with in a couple of hours.
Came here for my birthday and already had tickets for everything! Easy to find your way around and the staff we did interact with were friendly and knowledgeable! Highly recommend doing anyone of the animal encounters! My husband and I had a lovely time meeting tumbo the baby African penguin! Loads of fun! We will be back
Gorgeous aquariums, I've been to ripleys aquarium in myrtle beach and this doesn't even compare. This place is HUGE !! I love how interactive the place is as well. My only complaint is paid parking but it's understandable considering its in the heart of Atlanta. I would recommend booking online and printing your tickets, saves you money and makes it a lot easier.
Amazing whale sharks and other remarkable ocean life.
It had been a long time since I had visited the aquarium. It's super crowded even during the weekday, but it was a good time.
I didn't take advantage of any of their optional experiences, but I really like the concept, of course there's quite a premium price on it.
Book the reserved seating for dolphins early. We got there when it opened and went oto the desk. It was already fully booked. Get to that show as early as possible. It was allot of waiting but we got there early enough to get great seats. The show is well worth the wait. (I hate that you cannot take pictures or film any of the show.)
Overall I really like their exhibits. The tunnel could be better. The aquarium at the Mall of America is much better in that regard. But that's not really a detraction considering everything.
My only really complaints are with the cafe and their gift shop.
The food at the cafe was good, but the portion was small for the price. That was fine in our case. But still, $20 for two drinks, fries, and five small chicken fingers is quite steep. Another problem is the limited seating. There were people that had to sit on the floor.
The gift shop isn't bad, but it's not great. It is very overpriced. I could forgive that if they had anything particularly unique.
I'd highly recommend visiting the aquarium. I like that they added the optional experiences which makes gives it some potential for revisiting. Without that there's not much reason to go back often unless you have small kids that are really into it.
Everyone has an opinion, mine is that this place was amazing. I could easily go on and write a super long review. However I will just say this, if you are thinking about stopping by the aquarium, dont think just go. Its an experience you will never forget.
Amazing experience. Definitely visit shows with dolfins and seals. Good for kids.
Great Aquarium. Actually a tad bit smaller than I thought it would be but still an amazing experience.
I DO NOT recommend going to the aquarium right now! They don't require masks or social distancing. People are all gathering at the viewing windows and just don't care about other people! For an indoor venue I expected better because of what their website said.
I had a great time. All the exhibits moved a long fairly quickly. Everyone was extremely nice (as youd expect in Georgia) I went late and got the tickets half price, yay us, only problem is you need to get immediately to the live shows before they shut down. I thought the penguin thing was misleading. I was looking to see a huge penguin exhibit but they only have a few I think South African warm weather ones. Either way I'd go back
I finally got to visit this famous aquarium. A really nice tourist attraction.
Good largecrp for receptions. I cannot comment otherwise because I was only there for a special event. Music was good and the acoustics were acceptable despite the massive expanse of the space. Good bar service and helpful staff.
The live dolphin show is so neat. It's interactive and fun. You really can get immersed in the action. They are so fun. The whole family can enjoy
The Georgia aquarium is by far my favorite aquarium in the US. This aquarium is absolutely enormous and well-maintained. I love the tunnel that goes through the ocean themed tank. Seeing the massive Whale sharks swim over is mind-blowing. You do start to wonder how incredibly thick the glass must be in order to handle such immense weight.
This is a must-see if you go to Georgia, great for people of all ages.
Great experience I ooh and awww the whole exhibit is marvelous
Such a beautiful place! awesome experience. We live around the corner and just made our way here finally. Well worth it
My friends I went to our first yoga experience at the ga aquarium. It was really nice. The only thing I wish was it would of been in the room where the whole size of the wall was of the fishies instead it was in the room with a signigicantly smaller rectangle viewing of the fishes . Other then that it was a wonderful experience.
Such an awesome aquarium! Big enough to have to make two trips out of it. My 5 year old loved the dolphin show.
Very clean. Huge variety of animals. Displays are clear and informing. It's a beautiful place. A bit pricey, but if you spend a lot of time here I think it's worth the money.
This aquarium has a little bit of everything. It was amazing. Can't wait until their new expansion is finished. It looks like it will have sharks.
I definitely recommend going to see the dolphin show while you are there, just don't sit in the first 10 rows if you don't want to get wet.
Everyone should go at least once.
This place is absolutely beautiful the whale sharks are truly spectacular. I also felt safe with the safety precautions they have taken to combat the Covid Spread.
Valentine day under the sea was very fun. Spent $50 for 2 tickets total $100 it was worth it. Got 2 drink tickects a piece and 2 food tickects. No children just adults. It was very nice. Drinks and food were good
I took the grandbabies and we all had the best time ever.
There are just not enough words for how much I love this place. Between how epic the exhibits are, how many animals they help, their conservation efforts for all sea life.. This place is amazing! Kids and adults of all ages will be awestruck here. Definitely add it to your to do list for Atlanta! And make sure you watch the dolphin show!
Really nice place to go with the entire family to spend the day. This place has tons of activities to keep you and your children busy for a while. The best part about this Agusrium is that it's an inside aquarium. Wich means you are enjoying the view and animals but not under the hot son or raining days but taking your time and relaxing at the same time.I had a great time.
Loved it! The kids had a wonderful time looking at all the animals
2020 visit
This aquarium is definitely the best and largest in the general area. They have 3 whale sharks, which is pretty rare for an aquarium. They also do events after hours like cocktail evenings and stuff like that. The staff is always friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. The food in the cafe looks pretty good.
Note that they do have a security checkpoint, but you may check (and they'll hold it for you) any knives or firearms while you're enjoying the fish. Would go again.
It was a great experience however being a sea turtle fanatic I was very disappointed of only seeing 1...the dolphin show was by far the best!! Worth the money and 3 and half hour drive from SC.! Ready to see what the new expansion has in store!
Good: The dolphin show was by far the best experience. 3D shark show was great, kiddo loved the bubbles. We got to touch star fish which was a neat experience.
Bad: We prepaid for everything-parking ticket, dining vouchers, and entrance tickets. The parking garage next to the aquarium (in front of the Coca Cola museum) doesn't accept parking tickets from the aquarium. Plus it was a couple bucks cheaper anyway to pay for parking there. The food wasn't fabulous. We were to choose between pizza, hamburger, or chicken tenders everything came with fries and a fountain drink. Couldn't salad be offered as a healthy choice? We also just got water, so we paid more than what we really needed to spend.
I wouldn't recommend getting a parking voucher. Prepay the tickets in and dining vouchers are worth it if you're cool with their selection.
Amazing! My 17, 11 & 3 yr olds loved it! The sea lion show was nice. The touch area was "on break" so we missed out on that but everything was good.
We spent part of our Saturday at this facility. The sights of all of the sea life was breathtaking especial the whale Sharks. The dolphin show was nice as well. The reason why I don t give it a five star rating is that the admission price is a bit steep.
If you are looking for a good place to take the kids and you have the financial means this is a great educational place to come.
Lots of cool animals and 3-4 different interactive animal zones.
As always, the aquarium never disappoints. Loved the new sea lion show. We also got to sit in the splash zone during the dolphin show this time and it was awesome.
A must visit place in Atlanta. Amazing ocean and river animals that we must know and preserve. You can learn a lot there. Penguin show is only once a day, so be there early.
Go early on a Sunday morning and you'll have more time to see the exhibitions. Love the Jelly! Now go and find Dory. :)
Loved the aquatic life present here. The whale shark and the Beluga whales really are a crowd puller.
Its been a long time since I've been. But just amazing to see those whale sharks. Watching otters play. The penguins are always fun. They are scheduling times to enter. Park there because the entrance is now only in the first level of the parking deck.
This Experience was amazing. I've been to every Aquarium in the US and this was our last stop. Do not miss out on this experience!
Pretty crowded today but still a beautiful place to visit!
Great experience with n number of species to watch around. Ocean voyage is the best one for eyegasm with 6 beautiful whale sharks. Dolphin celebration puts smiles on your face. This will surely be a great memory for you and your family.
Omg!!!! My family LOVED it!!! They had whales. WHALES and 3 of them at that. The shows were awesome!! The animals and trainers were well put together Seeing so many different sea animals in one place was amazing. Will definitely go again.
Loved Loved Loved this place!! Had a great time with the kids. Can't believe how much there is to see and do. Clean, well kept and overall a great day! Hope to go back again soon.
hello i love your aquarium it is beutiful it makes me think of cartoon animals i know that sounds crazy but my heart shines when i see the animals.
Make this a must visit when in Atlanta! The whale shark exhibit is spectacular!
Aquariums are super cool, and this one is certainly no exception. Famous for, among other things, shipping by UPS a whale shark to their largest tank. Additionally, they rehabilitate a number of sea creatures, including turtles, dolphins, and manatees. Some such dolphins they trained to perform a spectacular stunt show in another area of the aquarium. One could easily spend +5 hours inside. Yes, there is dining. And a liquor cart, for some reason. I suppose you can drink like a fish while you watch them
Pretty good. Lots of great things to see. Only negative is the mass chaos. They are not set up to streamline traffic through the exhibits and you have to choose to either miss something or stand in the way until you are able to see. Usually that's no big deal, but you're going to pay alot of money to miss stuff.
This aquarium was great. Such a cool experience. Social distancing was nonexistent even when covid was so high in Georgia.
The aquarium is amazing. If you get a chance to do the overnight adventure, where you sleep in front of the tanks and get a behind-the-scenes tour, take it! We learned so much and got to know the animals' stories and learn a bit about their personalities. Such a cool experience!
Great place to spend a few hours with the kids. Be mindful when you go, sometimes having a kid in s stroller is easy to maneuver around hen busy. If you only go for a few hours, consider buying tickets online after 4.00 pm. You get an extra discount.
Absolutely beautiful place. Perfect place to have an amazing day out no matter what your age.
Also a great place for learn about these amazing animals. The staff is absolutely amazing when asked questions about the various animals and are always willing to hell you all about them. My husband and I are especially found of Gary who told us all about the whale sharks and the large manta Ray's. We also saw him in the other exhibits and he was also more than willing to tell us all bout them as well. Its great to see such knowledge and love for the animals from the employees working there.
Love going here with the family. It's always bustling with activity from the various aquatic creatures. It's one of my favorite places to take the kids, really gets their little minds going, and tires them out for the drive home.
It was a really cool place. Had a ton of cool fist. I got to sit in the splash zone and it was super fun.
Wonderful experience for children AND adults. Tours without extras like the 3d experience movies take about a total of 1.5 - 2 hours. Advanced ticket sales are currently required due to Covid-19. I also suggest making reservations for the 3d experience movies and dolphin tours.
Great aquarium, loved the size of the tanks and the large variety of fish . Penguin exhibit was under renovation, only draw back
Awesome! Been over 10 years since my last visit! Still amazing..a must see
Never been to a place like this but im sure glad i went, it was a really nice adventure getaway. Love it
Made the mistake of going on a Saturday at 3 PM. Couldn't even see the exhibits because of the crowds. My kids had little idea we were anywhere special...could have been a train station from their perspective. I have been here before an loved it, but was so thoroughly put off by the experience of being packed into crowds of people jostling for a look that I will have to plan future visits carefully. I would have thought that the Aquarium would.have some sort of maximum capacity control to ensure quality for visitors...apparently not.
Truly amazing experience. Constantly in awe from one viewing area to the next. You'll need at least a few hours to see everything just once.
The aquarium is a beauty to behold with all the different types of sea creatures and the dolphin show. It s worth the price. It s a one-stop place for an adventure of the sea creatures.
A very spacious and marvelous aquarium! My daughter loved it as much as I did. We had a worthy visit and will definitely go back here the soonest possible time!
Amazing aquarium! We love this setup. Perfect for kids and lots to do. The dolphin show was fantastic! Go... you will not be disappointed.
This was a planned trip and a surprise for the kiddos, but the adults had just as much fun.
Booked tickets online, traveled from STL to ATL and the aquarium was easy to get to for not being from the area.
Staff was super informative and the sights were just amazing.
Worth the price? Yes indeed it is.
Love to go back in the future
One of the few places that you can see whale sharks. It is very large and offers several exhibits as well as dolphin and seal shows. Parking in the aquarium's parking garage is $20 but is discounted when presenting an aquarium ticket or proof of membership making it cheaper than the surrounding parking garages. There is also a food court area with seating.
Very fun, they have a wide variety of marine creatures in a nice environment. Everything was very clean, and they had several shows that gave us plenty of enjoyment. I definitely recommend the dolphin show. It has alot to offer for such a short little show. Also they have everything very nicely organized so it's easier to get around quickly and efficiently.
We had a wonderful time, the sea lion show was great just wish I could photograph it.
Indisputable! Cool place! Impressive in size and variety! We have been here more than once, but every time, like the first time! Everything is very thoughtful and convenient! This is the place that every local and every tourist should visit ...
A must-see place when you're visiting Atlanta even you've been to Sea World. We got our tickets online with some discount ($31/person for before 11 AM). Parking pass online is $10. Loaded all the tickets and parking pass on Georgia Aquarium App on my phone, we were through parking garage and addimison gate easily. Dolphen and Sea Lion shows are great as well as 4D Funbelievable Theater. Highly recommended.
Arrived at around 1 or 2 pm and managed to see everything by closing time. The massive tanks had whale sharks and giant stingrays and walked through that particular area twice. Took great photos while we were there. Would recommend if you have day to spend in Atlanta.
Nicest Aquarium I have ever been to!!!! The staff were very courteous and attentive! Good job Georgia!!!!
Highly recommend coming here! Loads of things to do, and interact with. Dolphin show is great, you just have to make a reservation to see it.
Great, just would be even better if they had an indoor playground for the kids.
