I came to Geoff McDonald and Associates for my case and my two daughters. I am happy with their work but they have some things to workon. For example giving the client a call and update them instead of waiting for the client to call in.
Made the huge mistake of selecting this attorney for a Workers Comp case years ago. It took several years to get the case to trial. This firm was way too leaniant with the defendants! It seemed to me that there was a relationship outside of the actual case! The attorney that this firm selected for trial allowed witnesses to appear in the case that was not part the initial incident! Adding false witnesses as case dragged on. There was written evidence given to the attorney that was never presented to the commission. After seeing this early in the process, I reached out to Mr MacDonald whom I never spoke with during the whole 3 to 4 years! DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THOSE LYING COMMERCIALS and THE PEOPLE IN THEM. They'll give you false hopes based on people knowing their name! Do yourself a favor and run the other way!
My experience with the firm was very good. They was concerned for my well being, and my children's well being. They took the time to go through the pain staking details in finding out the real truth about my case. This practice really makes you feel like a family member instead of a client.

I had a car accident October 2013 and have had Kim Raab as my attorney for the last 2 1/2 years. Kim was with the Joel Bieber firm when I retained an attorney then moved to GMA October of 2015. I continued to retain Kim in her new office and was very pleased with the professional and courteous manner all of GMA's personnel. After 2 1/2 long years of trying to settle my case it was settled March of 2016. I met with the settlement officer who was professional and courteous as well the case manager who had all my paperwork ready for me to sign. Justin Sheldon, is the lawyer at the firm of Geoff McDonald that is handling my case. I was hit by a car while riding a bicycle causing a good deal of physical injury as well as emotional distress. Mr. Sheldon has walked me through every step of the process with expertise, compassion, and when needed humor in this clearly not humorous event. He answers questions, phone calls, emails quickly and accurately as does his support staff.
Lawyers take quite a hit from the public with innuendo as to their "behavior." This firm completely erases any notion that they are anything but highly ethical, interested in their clients well being and making sure that you are treated as an individual not a case with a dollar sign attached.

Not impressed at all!! I was made to feel like I was bothering my attorney any time I called him. I was pretty much kept in the dark regarding my case, and I don't feel like he fought for me. Finally just settled for WAYYY less than I thought I was due just to get it done. Lawyer got 35% of the total amount of my settlement!! After the settlement I still had questions, but trying to get in touch with anyone in the office was worse than trying to talk to God himself!! Basically I was told in so many words that now the rest was up to me!! In my own personal opinion I feel like the case may be settled but not closed. When I met the head honcho the day I picked up my meager settlement check I expressed my displeasure, but he still wanted to take a picture with me for advertising. I refused and told him that he really wouldn't want me to be in any of his ads since I was not a happy camper. After that he shuttled me out the side door. BTW, the Broad Street office has very little parking. Literally an alley!! Go somewhere else!!

This was the worst experience that I have ever had with an attorneys office. Please flee as fast as you can away from Geoff McDonald and his attorneys. Though they may settle your case in a timely manner however they WILL NEGLECT TO PAY YOU IN FULL.. They will drop the ball and treat you like a piece of garbage. I have yet to receive all that I am entitled to and my case settled over a year ago. I have made several attempts to negotiate my pay out but they keep giving me the run around. I have been promised several call backs and no one has returned my call. I was told by my attorney that my check was to be mailed to my home and it never happened. When I spoke to the owner Geoff, he demanded that I meditate with him before I conversate with him. When I refuse to meditate with him he refused to move have a conversation about my settlement. I have to escalate this problem to the Virginia Bar Association. Please do not solicit this law firm as you would be highly disappointed!!!!
