I bought private swim lessons and they sent me out the wrong start up time. They had to try to find a make up time. Someone always poops in the pool and they have nowhere else for the people to swim in. The lifeguards are rude and don't inform people properly. This place isn't big enough for the city it's accommodating.

Average facility. The water in the pool is often cold and the change room floors need more cleaning. Staff is friendly. We frequently visit this place because it is the only place in Airdrie for families to partake in activities like skating, swimming and or just hang out.

Nice facility but over priced. Swim lessons are a joke. We switch to the City of Calgary swim for life, and our kids absolutely LOVE it. They are actually learning and excelling, not being failed all the time. And you get 8 lessons for the same price you pay 5 for at Genisis. Plus you can actually get a spot and not be waitlisted.

Nice facilities for swimming. Clean change rooms. Pleasant staff. Difficulty signing up for classes online at times, and the director would not return our calls for assistance, but otherwise, grateful for the facilities and the opportunity to have a place to take the family in the winter for some physical activity.

We've been going here for many years mostly for our kid's swim lessons. Last year we could not register the kids during times that worked for us so we ended up singing them up at the new YMCA in Rocky Ridge NW. We immediately realized that the swim levels were completely different there than the program at Genesis place. Our poor daughter who was only on Level 5 in Airdrie, swam with Level 5 students who were probably 2 or 3 levels higher than the Airdrie program. All in all, Genesis is a nice facility. Drop in fees is about $13 which gives you access to everything.

I love the classes that are offered here for my kids. We've done gym, mommy and me yoga, dance and swim classes. Swim classes have great instructors - but it's a VERY busy time of day. The family change room gets congested quickly. Use the Mens/Womens changerooms as much as possible if you can, or you'll have to wait. For just casual fun swimming with my kids - I prefer to go into Calgary. More amenities and costs quite a bit less. But for lessons and registered activities I'd always choose Genesis Place - every time.

My mind is still 25 yrs old, but my knees feel like they are 95 yrs old...which is why I finally dragged myself to the Genesis back in April of this year to take up swimming (or my version of swimming). I took the 30 day membership, as I wasn't sure I would be able to discipline and commit myself for the long haul. I really appreciate the ability to upgrade to a yearly pass anytime within that month - which is what I did. I am NOT a morning person and I normally dread going to the gym, but I LOVE and look froward to going for my morning swim. I go at around 7 a.m. because I don't have to expose too many people to seeing me in a bathing suit LOL. I like this time of day as it is peaceful and quiet with only a handful of charming and friendly seniors who I've taken a liking to. The pools and the shower areas are also generally CLEAN in the morning - which is very important to me. I hate the idea of overcrowded pools with people doing who knows what. Like any establishment, there are friendly, happy staff, and there are staff who are just so-so. This, along with the chlorine levels which seem a little high at times, and the showers which are too hot or all over the place in terms of temperature sometimes, is why the rating is not a 5. Sorry, I can't speak about the rest of the facility. Grateful to have this facility in my small but awesome city of Airdrie! p.s. as our city continues to grow, I do see there will be a need for renos, upgrades and expansion.

Great facility overall, but parking needs an overhaul and since we happen to live next door to the Arctic it's probably a good idea to have covered parking. Inside is a little disorganized and can use more signs to tell people where to go for certain things. They have weird gates that don't seem to make any functional sense. They need to have somebody with a brain come in there and reorganize everything to make it a top-notch facility.

Genesis Place just hosted the 2020 Alberta Winter Games. What an amazing place. Twin rinks, Field house with twin fields, Massive Gymnastics room and a huge aquatics facility. Separate pools for swimming laps, recreation swimming with a curly slide and even a hot tub. For the adults to soak away tired muscles. The place if you just want to relax in the pool or participate in organized sport. Dont forget the exercise area also to tone up if you wish.

I've only ever been here for swimming and the pool is great. I bring my toddler and he loves it. There is something for everyone. Two toddler areas, a large mid-depth area for swimming, lane swimming, a lazy river, a huge swirly slide and a diving area. The water temperature is exactly the right temperature and is always on ther warmer side.

Decent complex. Havent been swimming there in a long time but it is a decent hockey rink and the indoor gyms are great. As for the hockey rink, the ice has a tendency to be a little on the soft side. Great seating and a real great atmosphere.
