Continental breakfast was cold croissants, yogurt, and some muffins. The tea selection was great. Conference room was very cold.

Right outside the Chicago loop for easy access to mass transit. Friendly staff.
Great views. Odd access, disjointed parking, rooms are ready for a refresh.
Clean. Friendly staff. Central to area meetings. Good food.
Solid hotel within the loop, beautiful view of the city and the river. Decent pricing for a holiday weekend and walking distance from everything. Millennium Park, Navy Pier, River Walk, bars and pizza are all within a half hour walk.
Rooms were nice and staff was super helpful. Very quiet
I was here for a 1 day conference. It was sufficient
Great location. Good service. Very attentive staff.
Clean hotel, not in perfect shape but staff is friendly and prices arw very low for the area
Beautiful, clean, with views beyond compare. Service Excellent
It's a great location for visiting the downtown area. Easy access to anything to want to do in Chicago.
I was at your hotel on Feb 10-12 for my 25th anniversary with my husband. We had gone down to the Mart Plaza for breakfast after waiting more than 45 min for my food my order came back wrong and then after reordering again my order still came back wrong at that time my husband had finished his food and i spoke to Madeline who made sure my order was done right and in a timely manner i still had to wait but she made sure to keep coming by my table to tell me don't worry its coming out and always asked if i needed anything else she then made sure our breakfast was complementary she went above and beyond to make sure we were happy and so did the bus boy (man) who was fabulous I was not happy but she made me feel so much better she even sent up a bottle of wine a card and strawberries for my anniversary i was so shocked she went above and beyond to make sure we did not leave upset or unhappy had she not done that we would of never gone back we go every year to the city to celebrate our anniversary at first we were disappointed bur because of Madeline i will definitely go back i will make sure she is working in case i run into another problem which i hope does not happen but she made me feel like i was the only customer and i felt she did what she could to make it right Thank you Madeline for making our experience great!
Stayed here while on a work visit. Was satisfied with the hospitality provided. The location was a bonus as it required only a quick walk from here to work.
The reason i am giving only 2 stars is mainly due to poor customer service. We encountered two unpleasant converstaions with different employees.
The bellhop, ROBERT, was very rude when my husband was asking where check in was located and where the parking garage was located. He interrupted my husband, to complain that he had already helped him. He needs to work on his manners and understand not everyone has been there before and knows it all. That s his Job to help out! The second employee was named LORETTA, who works at front desk. During check out, she didn t smile or ask how our stay was. She was in a hurry to finish our checkout yet there wasn t a line behind me. We had two rooms booked, and one of the rooms had two $4 bottled waters and the other had only one bottle when we arrived. I wanted to make sure the water bottle was not charged to the room because no one opened any waters. We just happened to notice one room had two bottles and the other had one. I was telling her this and she was not paying attention to what i was telling her, when she gave us the recepit, it showed a charge of $4.00 for smartwater and i told her this was wrong, she got very angry and said you told me your room had one bottle and there s had two , and i told yes exactly but i told you no one drank any bottles. She needs to be trained better customer service skills if she is going to be interacting with guests at front desk. This looks poorly on behave of Holiday Inn.
Otherwise hotel room was fine.
Convenient location, accessible to downtown attraction, friendly staff/service.
Beautiful hotel in the heart of the city, surrounded by the Chicago river. Always have a rough time finding in with google maps but once we are there we don't take our car out again. Only $40 for 24 hour parking. 6 blocks to the train or cabs waiting right the the doorstep. Nice bar area & restaurant in the hotel. Have not tried the indoor pool but looks great with a dome over the top. Rooms are clean and beds are super comfy. Cannot beat the views! Have stayed here 2x in past month and plan to again in August.
Nice place! Right in the business district, this hotel is very nice and elegant. Our hotel room had a nice view of downtown.
The only thing good about this place it s quiet if you looking for that. And the view was good from the 22 floor I had a good river and city view and a ok spot for watching the fireworks.Theres nothing really around here it s like a maze walking up out of here .The bar don t stay open long enough the store don t stay open I m use to the 24hour stores or they have the stuff behind the front desk to purchase it was only one elevator working so that was a mess. Stuff in the room was out of place a little dusty and the tub was backing up smh. I wouldn t say don t come here because everybody need to have they own experiences but I definitely won t be back.
Nice, clean hotel. Good food. Great location in the river. Beautiful views!
It was a nice place and had great location. The rate was also excellent for the city. We enjoyed the sky bar on site and although the beds were only doubles they were comfortable. The only reason for the 4 is that there were some wrappers in the hall when we arrived and we're still there when we left. Also, we were met in the lobby (actually on the 15th floor) by a bum coming off the elevator.
The staff was friendly and informative. Parking is close and $35 for the night (I've paid more in Chicago.
Shot from the 18th floor facing the rivers. Hotel is excellent. A little hard to find, they couldn't use a sign. Love the room. Exceptional in itself and the view is awesome to boot. The merchants mart is easy to get to including getting to the subway. Lots to do in the area. Big thumbs up.
This hotel has great views and is a short walk from everything you need.
Room was clean but construction work started at 7:30am. There was no indication from the check in staff that the construction would be occurring right outside the room window nor the fact that there was any construction going on in the building. Made for a very rude awakening in the morning.
This hotel is the BEST in ALL of Chicago! Our room had the most AMAZING VIEWS. There were wall to wall windows overlooking main branches of the Chicago river, the Hancock Tower, Trump Tower, and Willis Tower.
We were extremely impressed with the level of service we received from everybody we met: front desk staff, restaurant staff, and management.
The room was incredible! It was very clean, the bed was extremely comfortable, and there was plenty of space. Highly recommend this hotel!
Surprisingly nice for a Holiday Inn, good helpful staff (aside from the restaurant).
We though this would be business travelers. This is a rough crowd. Mom's cursing out small children, the smell of weed in elevators and halls. We saw this multiple times over a five day stay. I'd never stay here again.
Was only there for a day only conference so I didn't stay overnight. Conference rooms were relativity good. Location was great. Service was okay.
The hotel is very nice, but they give you mint scented soap which repulses me. Hope they remedy that problem, or I'll be at the Marriott.
The lobby is on the 15th floor which is strange. But a very nice hotel! Great views of Chicago right on the Chicago river. We had breakfast at the hotel all the food tasted great and everything was clean. Overall I would definitely recommend this hotel.
Hotel well located near the center, you can walk quietly and close to several restaurants, bars, cafes, bus transport, trains and boats. Lots of shopping and easy access. The hotel is large, and the fit. chosen was facing the Chicago River with kayaking trips and with a beautiful view of the city and the sky spider Willis Tower - Sky Deck. I liked it and would stay again !!!
One of the best hotels to stay in downtown Chicago. It has friendly staff members who are always happy to assist us with any problems. Walking distance to River Walk and other hotspots. Cleanliness and hospitality is remarkable.
Beautiful building with great personnel and hospitality.
Hotel had a old 60's vintage vibe throughout the hallways. Staff was very friendly. Price was reasonable for the winter season and parking was cheaper than other places. $41 overnight. Rooms were slightly smaller than others and there was no second sink outside the bathroom. Beds were extremely comfortable and soft. Decent hotel for the price
The view from the bar is beautiful, and the drink selection and service were good.
Beautiful River Front Hotel...
Very good service from the Bell Hops....loved
I was staying at the Holiday Inn for work, the rooms were clean, the food was good, and if I had an issue the staff was more than willing to help.
They have a very nice indoor pool. Everyone was friendly, and Dave, at the front desk, gave us a room with a great view for our visit. A little off the beaten path, but only a short walk to the french market and Union station.
Top notch!.. friendly staff. Clean place. Great location.
Accommodations were very nice. Unfortunately there was still a used towel hanging on door in bathroom and bathroom was not fully clean. This marred and otherwise great experience. Staff were very friendly.
Mediocre hotel in a great location. Rooms are dated. Reserved a king and they only had 2 doubles. Water pressure in the showers approaches non-existent. Would only stay here again if nicer options were priced out
Friendly, clean, great food, EXPENSIVE! $4 bottle of water
Overall, good hotel. Service was exceptional- from bell hop to the cleaning maids. However, it's so confusing! Also, no microwave or fridge in room
This review is for Monique at the front desk. I checked in tonight and she was just great. She was so friendly, it's just the simple things and a good reminder that people make the difference in experience. Thanks Monique!
Awesome place to stay! Great food beautiful building
What an awe inspiring experience. Brought my kids for a holiday weekend and they were very excited. Went to a clean and warm indoor pool. Had dinner at the cityscape bar. And breakfast was good enough to get a full tummy. From the front desk, maintenance clearing a small clog, to the great hospitality at the breakfast lounge, I'm definitely coming again. Just wish I had more time off to enjoy this part of the city more. Loretta, Edith, Art from the bar, Lorena, Ricky, and Paulino gave us a friendly environment.
Everyone here is very friendly. The room we were in had an amazing view of the Chicago River and was very clean and comfortable. I would definitely stay here again.
Everyone was great! Servers in bar were friendly. Juan G. at breakfast was pleasant.
Nice. Great customer service. Awesome location. Room was clean, but nothing fantastic. Did not use parking, but cabs were always out front to get around the city.
I loved the location of the hotel. Very close to everything. We had a suite and the vriws we're incredible. They have a convenient store and bar. Both we used and we're happy with. The pool was cold! But we were able to heat up in a sauna after.
View of the river and the city from our room is exceptional. The staff responds to issues promptly. The location is a good walking distance to the river and ride share programs have no issues finding us. Very courteous staff.
I love this holiday inn! It has such amazing views and very clean!
The hotel is on the upper half of the building, and the entrance is a little confusing. The hotel is lovely. Great comfortable lobby, fantastic room views. Good location near great restaurants and close enough to walk to major attractions. Good sized mini fridge for Chicago leftovers. We happened to be there during a snow storm, so my only disappointment was that they didn't have any games or cards to check out.
If you have business in merchandise Mart. This is the best place to stay
It is located in downtown and is in a convenient location to travel around the city. The room is also clean and comfortable. But the price is expensive.
Last night wedding party chkn not good steak are bloody no coffee & wine on the table no dogy bag steak never touch cannot take at home or may be we are American Asian
The day time staff was very pleasant, but the over night staff was not interested in delivering quality customer service. The check in desk team at night was border line rude.
Interesting location, being at the top of the building. The location in the city is prefect. Go south for shows and sights in the loop. Go North and find amazing Chicago food landmarks.
Pros
-clean rooms, modern design, helpful staff
-good location
-good price
Cons
-No microwave or mini refrigerator
-Mild difficulties locating (for a someone new to Chicago)
-No free breakfast
The room was clean and the staff was friendly. The view of the city from our room was spectacular.
The hotel was beautiful! Very welcoming valet and staff, room service was excellent and timely, and the restaurant breakfast was incredible. However, my husband and I were unpleased upon arrival and checking in with the bed situation. We selected/reserved for two double beds, one for us and one for our daughter, but we were only given the King size bed and a pull out couch. No big deal but was slightly annoyed that my reservation was taken as a request and not as a reservation. Plus valet was not included in the price, upon check out we had to pay separately for the valet, if we were told that then we would have found a parking lot instead.
This hotel has good and clean facilities. Location of hotel is also really good. It also have really good view.
room smelled like a moldy mildew covered basement. staff was extremely rude and inattentive to guest needs. Good location but lacks any quality that you would expect from a"4 star" hotel.
Nice place nice atmosphere but the rooms are not equipped with a refrigerator. There's a $25 charge to request one.
Nothing spectacular. The quality of the room was jus about ok. Same goes with the views from your room. It's a budget hotel in the downtown area. But the proximity to anything important in Chicago is a major plus.
One of the Best location in town. Right by the river walk.
Great facility. Attended wedding reception here. Staff very attentive. Food was delicious.
This hotel is a sweet hotel that is pure luxury. The lobby is really nice and the location and accessibility is really nice because it is within walking distance to a lot things.
Went here for a wedding reception. Great food, awesome views of the city. Only complaint is that my wife has food allergies and they could not seem to get her dinner order straight. Otherwise great experience!
Front desk guy was awesome. He was fun to chat with
Great staff, good location, spacious quiet rooms, good work out room
