My mind is still 25 yrs old, but my knees feel like they are 95 yrs old...which is why I finally dragged myself to the Genesis back in April of this year to take up swimming (or my version of swimming). I took the 30 day membership, as I wasn't sure I would be able to discipline and commit myself for the long haul. I really appreciate the ability to upgrade to a yearly pass anytime within that month - which is what I did.
I am NOT a morning person and I normally dread going to the gym, but I LOVE and look froward to going for my morning swim. I go at around 7 a.m. because I don't have to expose too many people to seeing me in a bathing suit LOL. I like this time of day as it is peaceful and quiet with only a handful of charming and friendly seniors who I've taken a liking to. The pools and the shower areas are also generally CLEAN in the morning - which is very important to me. I hate the idea of overcrowded pools with people doing who knows what.
Like any establishment, there are friendly, happy staff, and there are staff who are just so-so. This, along with the chlorine levels which seem a little high at times, and the showers which are too hot or all over the place in terms of temperature sometimes, is why the rating is not a 5. Sorry, I can't speak about the rest of the facility.
Grateful to have this facility in my small but awesome city of Airdrie!
p.s. as our city continues to grow, I do see there will be a need for renos, upgrades and expansion.
