Super nice. Clean, sea air, view from above on Alexandria
One of the most important landmarks of Alexandria and worth visiting
Built on the base of the Alexandria lighthouse
Sultan Qaitbey built with red granite from Asuan, this fortress to defend the entrance to the port of Alexandria, using the base of the no less famous and spectacular Pharos of Alexandria, which was destroyed the successive earthquakes of the fourteenth century.
The building was once a military installation, but now it only keeps a small naval museum; All other facilities are open to tourism. From its towers you have a privileged view of the Mediterranean Sea.
The access area that leads to the citadel is also a very popular area full of restaurants, ice cream parlors, selling souvenirs that are laterally posted as our walkers on the path to the fortress.
Nice view, a lot of souvenirs to buy, few good restaurants minutes away and a lot of people especially in the afternoon.
It's quite boring. Good place but nothing to do after you take pictures. It's a bit underwhelming coming here after visiting the pyramids
Children and youth must be visited to raise awareness and culture
This citadel is historic and has many details of ancient Egypt. It's located very close to the Mediterranean sea and provides a good view of the sea. The place is also famous for tourists and bubbles at night. Just opposite it is the gun shooting club which is also amazing. When you visit this citadel, a tour guide takes you through the place and explains things as you take a tour round the building. It's really a lovely place and was built in sometime the 1800S
I love it. A great location albeit a bit too touristy ! Love the restaurants there. Not much to see inside the citadel itself so it does not render itself to repeated visits. A cool place for photos though.
The place is wonderful, but unfortunately has turned to an unclean messy spot
The wonderful atmosphere and the wonderful view, that castle that protected the northern coast of Egypt
Great view of Alexandria from the citadel. However, too crowded and a lot of traffic
Very nice and friendly place.
Many activities in same area.
It is an exciting place. You can watch different kinds of water animals and birds. It is also attractive within the citadel where you can see a very great style of architecture and design, besides enjoying the view of the see and Alexandria up there.
I love alex
I love egypt
One of the most important and ancient historical and tourist attractions in the city of Alexandria is located in the Al-Anfoushi area (Al-Gomrok neighborhood) at the end of Pharos Island, west of Alexandria. By building the castle in 882 AH, and building the castle was completed in 884 AH.
Best place in alexandria the citadel is great and the view from above is fantastic
Historical place to be visited, but preferred in good weather. Not in summer.
The castle and the aquatic neighborhoods and there are modifications around the castle
The place is great but the service is below expectations
Of the beautiful places in Alexandria and visit it no matter how often it is not boring at all
An ancient and ancient place and the Egyptian people still preserve it
A great location and a beautiful experience with family and friends
Beautiful seaside fort which indeed is one of the ancient wonders
Just a visit to the walls with nothing inside I did not enjoy visiting
It's a great feeling when you get to see where your insestors built a protection shield to defend the front line of your land. That was an awesome experience.
From the Islamic monuments in the city of Alexandria we hope to develop and open permanently to tourism
A place with traces and ancient history and a garden of fish
The castle is characterized by a wonderful atmosphere in the summer as well as a wonderful view of the sea ... But the presence of tea sellers are obliged visitors to sit and drink tea for an exaggerated price
History and civilization deserve the attention of everyone
The summit of beauty and civilization, long live Egypt
Historical relics in the Mediterranean Mediterranean Sea of Egypt
i love this place as it one of greatest place i had ever been
Citadel of Qaitbay is a place you have to visit in Alexandria it was built on the same place of Alexandria light house (one of the old seven wonders of the world which was destroyed by earthquake)
One of the most beautiful places in winter to visit
bello place but local commerce is not good with tourist .. explore the very
Great historic place to visit and learn as well as enjoy
Citadel of Qaitbay, which was built around 1480 by the Mamluk Sultan Qaitbay
Fascinating and so iconic point in the mid of the sea
It became more bad because of the development project
One of the most important places that you must visit is either Tigi, Alexandria, and there is also the Aquarium Museum where you will meet exotic fish species from all over the world and entry tricks at a very nominal price
Poor cleanliness of the place and sums collected just for entry only
One of Alexandria's landmarks is good architectural heritage, and the design of the interior corridors is impressive. Everyone should visit
It's a must.. Try to make there.. Still you will feel the history.. It's a nice place to visit and spend at least 2 hr.. For enteranc it's 20 pound for Egyptian and Arabic person.. For foreign people I think it's 80 pounds (not sure) try to get to the top of it
