Congratulations GCC Biotech for unveiling India s first fully indigenous Covid test kit this week costing only Rs 500 and for receiving approval from the Indian Council for Medical Research (ICMR) on May 1.

The new real-time PCR kit has been developed by this startup in West Bengal. Called DiAGSure nCoV-19 Detection Assay (TaqMan based), the kit includes one-step qRT PCR Master Mix, primer, probe and RNA template (control) each of which, the company says has been locally developed at its laboratory on the outskirts of Kolkata, in South 24 Pargana district and this real-time kit takes only about 90 minutes to give its result
