This is more the office, not a specific agent, but walking into Gateway and seeing all of the agents with masks on and a sign in front saying you can't enter without one made me happy to do business with them. Seems like they really care about the employees and the clients.

I'm posting this as a landlord, not a client, but I have used Gateway for 10 years now to rent out my apartment in Brighton and they are so professional and friendly there. Every time I walk in there I see familiar faces and that doesn't always happen in this business. They treat me well and I recommend working with them to fill your vacancies.

Beware!!! Stay way from any building these guys manage! We would give them 0 stars if at all possible! WARNING WARNING! The property management team is very unprofessional and only work 8 to 5. If they are required to come to your unit you will need to take time off and work around there schedule. I was a tenant in a unit they took over mid-lease and the property manager want to view the unit. I said no problem my husband and myself are usually home from work round 5:30 so please come by anytime after that or let us know a time on the weekend. The property manger said no that they only work 8 to 5 Monday to Friday and it was company policy to not come outside those hours. I later found out from the property manager they felt my husband and I were "unknown" people and they were afraid for there safety. This was the reason they refused to come outside these hours. I tried reaching out to both owners Richard and Craig many times with no response. I was even told by my property manager they will not respond since they have nothing to do with the business. This is surprising since they are named as owners on the website and state listing. Sounds like the employees are running the ship here. STAY WAY!!!!!

This is our third apartment we have rented through Gateway and they have been great to work with. All of our agents have been super responsive, which definitely isn't the norm. I'd highly recommend them if you need a place in Allston, they seem to have a ton of really great listings.

i've had two terrible experiences with this real estate group. First, about two years ago when I was looking for my first apartment I had the misfortune of working with Kim Rodriguez. Not only was she not prepared to show us apartments we scheduled to see, she was not helpful in looking for options that provided our needs nor did she seem to care about finding us a place. She was rude and totally blew us off as soon as it was not convenient for her. Most of the time she just looked like she had no idea what she was even doing -- not what you're looking for in an agent.
After this experience, I decided to give Gateway another go and see if anything has changed in the last 2 years. At first everything was working fine, Zoe was helping me out and sending me a bunch of options to go see. We met 1 day and saw 1 apartment, and after she told me she will schedule more showings for the following work day she completely ghosted me. Never returned my phone calls or texts, didn't bother to explain anything else -- just banished from helping me with the search. I called the office a few times and she is "with other clients" or not there.

Overall, these people don't care about anything in regards to helping their clients, they just want what is easy for them. If you wont make their job easy don't expect them to put in any effort. I recommend going to Benjamin Apartments right down the street instead, Ali is very helpful and actually helped find my first apartment years ago.

Mike is a hustler and when a few places we liked were rented before we could put a deposit down, he kept working hard to find something that worked for us. Thank you Mike!

Awful. Myself and 3 other roommates found an apt we loved with Will, a realtor at gateway. He collected all of our deposits on the apt and 3 months before we were set to move told us that we were not approved...he then showed us an apt we were approved for. He claimed to be great friends with the landlord and backed her completely. On move in day we discovered that the apartment was completely infested with cockroaches and bed bugs. The landlord made little to no effort to solve the problem. On top of that the apartment was very insecure and the front entrance lock was always broken. I will never use this company again and advise you all against gateway.

Gateway has been around the area for a very long time and it shows. We have used them to find an apartment numerous times and it's always a great experience. They have some great places in Allston and Brookline and it's worth your time to check them out.

Terrible place. I live at their place right now and they have basically been ignoring my repair requests. I got an apartment that was damaged and I wasn t even warned about it when I moved in. And took weeks to fix it and the work is really half done. Super disappointed. Would never work with them again.

if i could give a negative star I would. Never do any business with the company. I worked with Patrick Millane and he is exactly what you read on these comments. When I moved in the house there were big pieces of junk all in the backyard and driveway which was never removed throughout my stay. When I was moving out, my car was blocked in the driveway by the neighbors upstairs and I tried to contact him about it which caused me time and delayed my moveout process but I got charged at the end of the lease for that. there s not a phone number I could reach him so we had to communicate through email. I explained to him when I ll be completely done due to the delay and he still sent his team anyway. By the time they arrived there was nothing for the trashing team to remove, they even said it themselves it s not even necessary for us to be here. so they left after seeing there was no furnitures or items left in the house yet I got charged about $450. There were furnitures stacked infront of our next door neighbors house and I somehow got fined for leaving things on the walkway . In hoping to receive my deposit on helping me to move to the next place, guess what I received back? $50!!!! When I paid $1000 for deposit and I got $50 back for all these bs charges (late move out fee, cleaning fee, when we swept, mopped and cleaned the kitchen counter, and trash out fee). I addressed him on the ridiculous amount I received and never heard back from him. I thought I was the only one and turned out that I m just one of the many unfortunate tenants that have to deal with such unfair and unprofessional company that just would take your money and dip. there are many responsible management companies in Mass and they re definitely not one of them. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM.

My experience with Gateway Realty has been nothing short of phenomenal. Since the moment I stepped into their office, I was greeted with excellent and accommodating service. I knew very little about the areas I wanted to move in to and the real estate agent I got paired up with did a spectacular job in finding exactly what I was looking for. He went above and beyond the call of duty and made the whole process seamless.

Mike found us a huge place near campus and we really thought he was great. Hustled and worked hard for us to get the place!

We've dealt with a lot of realtors in the past and they all tend to have a salesmans attitude, but Nick was straight forward, honest and just a very down to earth guy. I promise you that you won't find a better realtor to find you exactly what you're looking for.

Worst property management company I have ever dealt with. I worked with a guy named Patrick Millane. They are the worst with communication. They also added charges when we moved out and refused to give our security deposit back. I advise people to not use this company because you will get screwed.

Our apartment at 33 Delle Ave was managed by Patrick Millane and this guy is one whack job. Do not follow the reviews you read here or anywhere else, they have all been doctored for him.

We rented the apartment for a year (2017-18) and kept it completely clean and notified him of any issues that we saw just so that he wouldn't blame it on us at the end of lease period and deduct money from our Deposit amount. Not only did he do that, but posted extra charges on us such as $1400 for paint job, $900 for bed bugs AMONG other heavy charges. This was hilarious because, the apartment was never painted before we moved in, so he essentially got a free paint job ripped off of us, and we never had bed bugs for 12 months of our stay (if we'd had that, wouldn't have we said anything about it to him?), his new tenants complained about that a month AFTER they moved in. Guess who brought the bed bugs? THEM, and he charged us for that. He charged us for cleaning the apartment THRICE which costed us $350 every time, why? because he THOUGHT the apartment was too dirty. We are students who cannot afford loosing $2750 and this is what we got for behaving and trying to keep the apartment clean because we needed the deposit back. Guess what, he isn't replying to emails, doesn't have guts to get on a call and face us the apartment owner is also least interested to look into this.

We are SUING him and this company and highly advice you to all stay away from renting with them. Lawyers are working on this case currently. Thanks Patrick Millane, you played well man. It's our chance now.

Even though I didn't end up renting through Gateway, they were really helpful in showing me some apartments. Next time I moved I'll get in touch with Gateway RE first.

I worked with Nick Luongo and had a great experience. He reached out to me after I inquired about one of his listings online and gathered a bunch of information about my roommates and I as well as our needs/preferences. We had several pretty firm needs (3 parking spaces and a low budget) but he was able to find several great places for us, each of which met our needs and had a different set of advantages, so we had a LOT to choose from! From what I can tell, he has access to a huge database of listings and can find a number of places to suit any set of needs.
This was my first apartment hunt and I was really nervous about working with a realtor, but Nick went above and beyond by answering a bunch of questions for me about housing options, fees, utility costs, etc. He was totally honest about the disadvantages of each place we were looking at and even provided advice about how to approach the renting process once we selected a place.
Overall, I had a really positive experience working with Nick and would do so again in a heartbeat. Highly recommend!

Not sure about the entire company, but we worked with Andrea Candello and she was not good. Started being so responsive and emailing us apartments and as soon as she figured that we are working with another agent as well (cause that s the norm if you want to find a decent place), she made us excuses and canceled on us the day of the showing a couple hours before the scheduled time. Very unprofessional and not acceptable.
