We meet some friends there who were in from out of town. The facilities were nice, but they were hosting the ISU football players in for training camp before classes start, and the ruckus they raised made it impossible for my friends' six month old baby to sleep.

Friendly staff. Room amenities are just the necessities. Housekeeping is very professional and thorough.

Great place to stay but getting around can be confusing.

Nice hotel with lots of light. Odd layout and was hard to find my room. Hotels seems to be in the process of updating their property. The restaurant on sight had a delicious breakfast. Enjoyed my stay.

Slightly dated. Toilet didn't flush all the way. But staff friendly and room was clean.

Great place to stay when we are in Ames. Love to borrow a bike and take it out on the trail.

The Conference Center is comfortable and has decent food.

Pretty average hotel. The best thing about it was it's restaurant. The Iowa Stater was fantastic. The worse thing about it was the hotel rooms. The window in my room had a draft coming through. I tried to use the window lock to make sure it was securely locked and the latch thing just fell out, onto the ground. The tv reception was very spotty. The wifi didnt even need a password, it was completely wide open. Needless to say, they need to do a bit of updating in order to charge more than the holiday inn express. $147 a night just didn't feel accurate. I will choose the holiday inn express next time.

First time coming here for an ISU Awards ceremony. Nice facilities but didn't see other parts of the building so not a complete review.

Of conferences I've attended, this venue was average. It was clean and had appropriate technology for presentations. Rooms were comfortable, access to restrooms was adequate. As someone with special dietary needs, however, I was unimpressed with the food service. Gluten free apparently equals the same meal naked, so sauces or seasoning. Also, there was no substitution for dessert. I realize dessert isn't a necessity, but at $40 a plate, I expected more than just... nothing. I'm not a big eater, but portion sizes were on the smaller size, don't know if they are accounting on people filling up on dinner rolls (which I obviously could not have). I know Ames is not a large metropolitan area, but I did not expect them to be so behind the times.

The ambience and style of the building is a testament to the quality and image of Iowa State University.

Very impressed with the room here, and it's certainly one of the go-to places for local celebrations. The pool and jacuzzi was also surprisingly nice.

The restaurant prices were a pretty ambitious and wait staff were stretched thin. Atmosphere doesn't merit the price boost when the food is run-of-the-mill diner quality.

As close as you re going to get to the Iowa State campus, and more unique than the standard chain hotels in town. Nice rooms and nice setting!

The bed linens and pillows are worth a stay but also excellent food.

A little dated, but otherwise a very nice place to stay on the ISU campus. Staff are fantastic. Breakfast at the Iowa Stater was very good as well.

Good service. Our key kept getting erased so we had to get new keys every time we left the room. Hotel was musty.

I don't mind ever paying for a hotel but put some money back into your hotel. Our suite had rotten windows and it looked like it had mold. Could u invest in new pillows they are awful. When do you allow big dogs that bark and shed . Wasn't impressed.

I attended a conference here. The wifi was great. The food was excellent. The bathrooms were spacious & cleaned at least twice daily. Great experience with every staff member I talked to.

I've attended multiple events hosted at the Gateway Conference Center and have always enjoyed clean and professional facilities.

The only complaint I have is the weird design of the building. We had to park quite a distance from our room just because of the layout of the parking lot. We had a spot close to the door we were told to enter but had to walk a long distance inside.

Very nice rooms and hotel but the internet might be slower than having dial-up. Absolutely horrible for an organization of this size.

Clean and updated. Comfy beds, and nice bathrooms. If you are a vegan, the restaurant doesn't really have anything for you!

Organization of the bridal fair was poor, children checking us in, long line, no purpose for having online tickets.

Recently held an event at the Gateway and it was great. The food was wonderful and the staff were really easy to work with and accommodating.

I attended aproffession conference at this venue. The staff were very cortious and professional. The conference room had plenty of space and had two deviders for breakout sessions. Overall it's a great place to hold a conference.

Bed was comfortable. Hotel workers were accommodating.

Hotel is nice , we just had mixups at the front desk , first gave us a room that someone was already in ! Then put us in a room that we later found out was listed vacant at the front desk , so someone could have been given keys to our room while we where there . Not a great comfort when you leave your valuables in a room to attend a Wedding. I'm sure it was just a personal problem that the hotel will correct immediately. Otherwise a great hotel !

Okay hotel, but there was a lot of weird rules and I accidentally ended up in the basement s second floor. The worker with the blonde hair and red suit was nice, though!

Room was very nice. Staff was amazing and breakfast buffet was really good.

The hotel was nicely decorated and we'll maintained. The staff was friendly and helpful. I would definitely return again.

Nice rooms, nice restaurant. Has a lobby bar/grill with comfy/cozy seating. Great for groups, teams and families. Great place for conferences, receptions. Overall the entire place is a really good value. Great partnership with Iowa State University.

The executive suite was very comfortable, and it had enough room for 4 people, the hotel manager was even kind enough to give us two extra rollaway beds for no extra charge.

Stayed overnight for a wedding. Very clean rooms, large ballroom for the wedding party. Also, resteraunt with a great Sunday brunch buffet!

Stayed one night for a work winter party. Rooms were very well kept. Pool and whirlpool were clean and enjoyable. Definitely a nice place to stay!

Overall what you're expecting from a 3 star. The restaurant is good and reasonable. The only hard part is navigating the giant building!

I was just visiting a friend. The hotel and restaurant are well kept and I this k they do a good job of creating a themed environment.

Excellent lunch service. Was there for a birthday lunch with a group from work.

Nice place. Very clean and professional, good event staff great catering. Bathrooms are unfortunately small, and after meetings their was an inevitable over crowding.
