Amazing! 2 Thumbs up. I and my family all go there. The doctors are amazing! The nurses are doubly amazing! Ask for Tom ,best RN ever. Good job to everyone from the office and billing and nurses. Dr. Petersen and Dr. Griffin have both worked on me over the years. Love them both!

They're a great group! My doctor and nurse listen to my concerns and even followed up to see if my new medication was helping. Everyone is always very nice and it seems like they all really care.

Great Doctors and nurses. Only problem was with billing. Nov 7th I walked into the front desk to pay in full the rest of what I owed to both places. A few weeks later I am sent another bill from Gastro for $15 plus 16% interest. Now why would I leave a few dollars left to pay off so it can build interest so I can pay what I don't own? After calling and talking to someone in billing I was told that the person who totalled up what I owed forgot to include my 1st visit which I had already put over $200 down that day. Their attempt to make it right was to take off the interest but make me still pay for the visit that was "Forgotten" about. They can have the $15 that may make or break them but I'll be going to Omaha to have this done from now on.

Terrible to work with. They seem to take advantage of the fact that they are the only show in town for GI issues. Their office workers are very rude. Just setting up an appointment required hours on the phone and supplying the same information over and over. Very disorganized. If you can't pay your balance in full within a month or two, they will threaten to charge 18% interest against your account. If you can possibly go somewhere else, I would recommend it. It would be well worth the trip to Omaha to avoid their nonsense.

Fantastic staff! Dr. Thomas has a wonderful bedside manner and addressed my issues in a timely manner. I appreciated the high level of care/compassion both he and his nurse displayed upon my initial visit.

Billing practices at this office are EXTREMELY shady. I had them refund my money because they did not provide the services I paid for in a timely manor. This caused me to miss several hours of work two days in a row. They agreed that is was their mistake, but then they tried to do some sort of an end run to collect un-earned money from me by billing my insurance and then claiming I still owed them for the office visit. Then their billing department hung up on me when I brought up the issue. Shady, shady, shady. Beware of what they bill you, they seem to add on charges after the fact. The absolute most important thing that this place wants is your $$$.

Some people have had a lot of great experiences, unfortunately I am not one of them. Having very serious GI issues and by the time phone tag between front desk, nurse doctor and back again is done it's about 4 business days and like the telephone game its all wrong. If you are having serious issues go to Omaha. My GI doctor himself may be great, unfortunately I never get to communicate with him. Seems to be no sense of urgency or compassion, watch out.

I saw a Dr. Thomas and I thought he was very good and very nice as well! He did 2 different scopes on me at Bryan West, and I was treated very well there too! With respect and kindness! As well as I should be, but unfortunately some Dr.'s and some Hospitals don't! Not that I want to go through that again, but I would go back to Dr. Thomas!

Upon arriving there were 2 desk people. Not friendly but not rude. Just very 'blah'. No welcome or smiling at all. They were just there to do their job. After being called into the room by the nurse she seemed decent. Once we met the doctor, Clark Antonson, game changer!! Absolutely no bed side manner! Made both my husband and I feel so ridiculous for the questions and concerns we have. After telling them I had a CT done and I was told since the testing wasn't already sent over that they could look it up on the website both of their replies were 'oh I love when they do that'. My results with that were not in Dr. Antonson area and he clearly told me that. Once again no bedside manner. After he left and came back into the room my husband and I had more questions and he was pretty annoyed by that you could see as he leaned up against the bed deal and crossed his arms in frustration. I went up to get lab done and they kept calling me Kelsey! NOT MY NAME! I had made an appointment to get my ultrasound and then was sent on to lab. As I was leaving I was chased down by the billing lady to make sure I had paid my bill! Then I had to go to ANOTHER level to get my food allergy test kits (I'm surprised I hadn't just walked out of the place at this point) and when arriving there the nurse placed everything out on the counter right there in front of the other patients in the lobby and explained everything to me... excuse me, rushed through everything and asked if I was following along. Also told me I could find a video online on how to do the tests. I called my doctor and let her know not to be referring patients here especially to this doctor. I have been in so much pain for the past 3 months and after my visit yesterday it is even more upsetting! I let them know my results can be sent back to my doctor where I live because I will not be have Dr. Antonson be doing anymore work or procedures on me!

Incredibly dissatisfied. I made an appointment to see Dr. Hrnicek. When I arrived for my appointment, I didn't see Dr. Hrnicek, I saw his PA who showed a complete lack of empathy for what I was going through. Also, I made it clear I wanted to find the cause of my heartburn and wanted to solve the problem and not treat the symptom. They had a generic answer ("everyone's different") as to why I was experiencing my symptoms and told me I should take meds to treat my heartburn. If I wanted anything beyond taking a pill or doing surgery, they weren't willing to help. Disgraceful.

Excellent! Dr. Lawton is very patient, kind and gave us all the time we needed for questions. He explained the results and treatment plan in great detail and made sure we understood. The nursing staff is fantastic as well. They are very patient and kind with a wonderful bedside manner. I left feeling very comfortable with my mother's treatment plan and confident she was treated with great care. I would recommend this office to everyone. From the moment my mom checked in, to the care she received all the way to the car was fantastic.

The doctors are really great and very helpful but the receptionist in office are very disrespectful and have bad communication with their patients also giving me attitude when I told her I was here for my appointment and told me I was too late. I called a week ahead to see about my appointment they told me it was at 12 and I showed up at 11:20 and they told me I was late and I could no longer be seen because my appointment was at 11 when the receptionist I talked to on the phone told me 12 and told me I was late still and there's nothing that they could do about it and they have a very strict late policy even though technically I would have been early not to mention they did not call to remind me of my appointment or call to see if I was still coming very unprofessional.

More worried about money instead of patient....very sad...trying to force people to pay before procedure......$644 due before they would do the procedure! And said an additional amount will be charged for twilight sleep. I am glad we don't treat our clients this way! If I would have know, we would go to someone else.

Customer Service is Terrible! I saw Dr. Petersen several years ago for diagnosis and treatment GERD. I was very happy with him and his treatment plan. It continues to be very helpful. So from my previous experience with Dr. Petersen, 5 stars.
I now have to start getting colonoscopies as recommended by my regular doctor. My doctor immediately gave me a doctors order to go here. First, it took me quite a while to call and ask for an appointment. I wasn't able to easily call and schedule, in fact, I spent three thirty minute lunch breaks trying to schedule an appointment, leaving messages and when I finally got a call back was told, oh sorry, I can't schedule you until you talk to the billing department. I waited on hold for 5 to 10 minutes over my lunch break then the gal apologized and said they must all be on break, or on another line, they would have to call me back. Just as I was getting out of my car at work, the billing department called me back and said the reason they couldn't schedule me is because, back in 2012, (it's now 2018),I had a no show appointment and they needed to know why I missed it before they are allowed to schedule me for anything else. Wow! even the girl on the phone was embarrassed to have to ask me this. I said well, I will have to say I didn't know I had an appointment? But, I really can't say at this point. So, after a thirty second conversation, she said I will get you back to scheduling. I was then put on hold again, since I was already late getting back to work I had to hang up. I finally get time to call again today, guess what? I called three times, the phone rang and rang and rang. After the third time calling thinking I must have a wrong number, a gal with a very unhappy, blah voice came on and said can you hold? I said yes, waited again for a while, she came back on and asked what I needed, I told her I needed scheduling. I waited again, she came back to the phone and said in a very emotionless monotone voice, all of my schedulers are on the phone, you will have to leave a message. I get transferred, I left a message and awaiting a call back. In the meantime, I decided to check reviews and see if it was just me? I see I am not the only one.
Whoever is in charge of front desk & scheduling hiring, etc...please do something to get your employees more help! This is ridiculous service and it is not their fault. They need more help so your customers are taken care of and happy instead of frustrated! You also need to do regular things to show them they are appreciated and you know how hard they are working, they probably need raises as well, just a guess, just because others in their positions make a certain amount, you probably need to think about the amount of work they are expected to do. You also need to review your policies, the scheduler should have access to information as to why a customer is blocked from making an appointment. In my case, I would hope you trust her enough to look and see I had a missed appointment in 2012, and let her make the decision whether I can schedule an appointment or not. Very bad systems in place, please review them very soon! I am planning to look elsewhere to get the testing I need after reading through your reviews. It is too bad you have some very good doctors as well as other workers doing their best to keep up with the demand from your customers. Your systems and ability to help a patient immediately when they call are so poor. With all of the doctors you have in your practice, your employees should not be so miserable and should be allowed the time to talk to a patient without feeling rushed! They need help!

When I was his patient at Bryan, Dr. William Lawton violated 3 medical ethics tenets: abandonment, breach of patient/doctor privilege and do no harm. Abandonment halfway through my hospital stay is a more serious violation than most people think. The harm of this experience was serious and lasting.
I wrote out an explanation, but it was deleted. I am still within a year of this experience and do consider more serious measures.
Do not go to Bryan East and never allow William Lawton anywhere near you.
The doctor, the nurses and other staff did NOT put the patient first, but rather put all their wagons in a circle to protect the hospital. I was treated in a condescending, insulting manner.
I am an attorney emeritus and anyone who wants to know more may find me and phone me.

I never write reviews, but I thought I'd caution people. Dr. Newton is a very caring doctor who helped me address my needs and actually listened and wants to get me back on track to feeling better. For him, I'd love to give a 5/5. However the customer service is awful and downright rude every time I call. I waited about a week and tried to call about my bill. They didn't have it. Then two weeks go by. They still don't have it. Another half week after that I call to ask about it because an insurance claim has come in for much less than what was estimated, so I wanted to know if it was too good to be true. When I ask them if my bill is finally up, they said no, then a "hold on, are you trying to pay for the (estimated amount I was given after my visit)? Because that's what your insurance told us it would be." I told them I had a claim on my insurance for $150, so I'm confused why there was 1) no actually bill with an actual amount was on my account and 2) why it was taking so long for me to get a bill? So I said I wasn't paying for that because the claim amount was for lower. She proceeded to say "Oh, I guess we'll wait for it to go through insurance." So why was I quoted a number that insurance gave you but 1) wasnt matching the claim amount with my insurance 2) it hasn't been ran through insurance yet?? The billing department really needs to get their poop in a group. One last thing that made me severely upset, I was contacted a few days ago with my test results for my breath tests and have been playing phone tag for the last few days because the only woman who knows anything about them is always unavailable. That--not her fault--however, every time I ask for her the people who answer are rude, monotone, and just speak with short responses. Customer service is honestly a 2/5 for me, disgraceful.

Edit: My claim has been approved for over 2 weeks and this place has yet to send me a bill so I can budget it into my finances. Thanks, guys, really appreciate it.

Poor response to my request for access to the patient portal to access my own personal information. So far two phone calls requesting an access PIN and the only offer they have is "We sent it." The message did not go to SPAM as I have the filters disabled and have no problems with any other addresses. It can't be this difficult. Let me verify my information over the phone and give me the damn PIN.

I had a biopsy done on a duct in my pancreas. A co...

I had a biopsy done on a duct in my pancreas. A complication occurred causing me to get pancreatitis due to swelling in the duct. It's not common, and shouldn't have happened as the reason for the biopsy was my pancreas looked "inflamed". If it's inflamed, maybe you shouldn't do a biopsy! And after the fact I realized he didn't even look into the reason for the upper GI exam, because if he had, he wouldn't have found it necessary in the first place. The condition I had was a variation of a genetic disorder. And my variation didn't have any evidence of cancer being an issue in that duct or my pancreas. So the procedure was unnecessary in the first place. I went home after the procedure, became violently ill, cold sweats, vomiting, fever, and severe stabbing pains in the area of my belly button. I spent 5 days in the hospital with an IV only, no food, no fluids. Just the IV so my pancreas could settle down. I wasn't given sufficient pain medication, even after the guarantees of the entire staff. The entire staff who happened to all stroll through to see me so they could bill my insurance company. Oddly enough, Dr. Thomas was too big of a coward to show up himself. I was assured by one of his accomplices that he "felt bad about it". But not bad enough to show up. I was sent home without any pain medication, and several weeks later I developed pseudocysts on my pancreas, a result of the pancreatitis. This also caused severe pain. When I tried to schedule an appointment, they said it would be at least 2-3 months! I'm in pain NOW, not 3 months from now! If you're so busy raking in the cash to not do any follow up, or not have time to see someone you caused a major nightmare for, you're merely a factory, not healthcare providers. I was told they don't give pain meds. After threatening them with getting to speak to my attorney, Dr. Thomas got on the phone and tried to placate me with telling me to see my PCP or go to a pain clinic for my pain. You caused it you jerk, YOU deal with it. I went to my PCP a week later, and he prescribed my pain meds, noting that some physicians should have learned how to treat patients starting with their mommy teaching them how to be decent human beings in kindergarten. Dr. Thomas is a narcissistic horses a&& with the bedside manner of a pit viper. Do NOT GO TO THIS FACTORY if you want to be treated like a human being instead of a profit center. I don't know about the rest of the doctors here, because I'm not letting these money grubbing, greedy jerks get another nickle of mine, or my insurance companies money. I'll go to someone who takes responsibility for their actions instead of treating me like it was my fault he created a situation that's caused me months of illness. There are so many other good, caring , COMPETENT gastroenterologists in Lincoln and in Omaha that there's no reason to be abused by this place.

Do not use this business if at all possible. FIrst the communication with me before my colonoscopy centered more around whether I had the capability to pay the insurance deductible than on the care I would be given. On arrival at the office the first person I saw was a cashier to take my money. Then once settled in one of many curtained off, assembly line type, cubicles, the nurse had to try three different times in three places to find a vein for my IV (I donate platelets twice a month at the Blood Bank with no problems!), and then had to ask another nurse for assistance. The colonoscopy itself went OK and the Dr. said he found no problems and to come back in 10 years. The insurance Explanation of Benefits that came later showed the insurance company had also paid for the procedure! When I call the office to inquire I was told Gastroenterology Specialties had coded the procedure wrong and would need to resubmit. After 75 days I got a call saying the insurance would recoup their payment...so the clinic used both our monies for that time. And, on top of that I was told I would need to pay the difference as a biopsy was done that needed paid for...after the Dr. told me all was well!? If future work of this type is needed I will seed another establishment.

I ve been going here for two years. I do not understand the negative reviews. Dr.Wells is a great guy and extremely helpful. Today I was called letting me know some appointments cancelled and that I could come in early. I think that they are very reasonable and have had great experiences. I have never had a problem with the customer service staff etc. Great experiences all around when going here.

Started here 4 years ago. Doctor didn't care about me, quit on me in searching for what was wrong. Switched to another doctor in the practice since they virtually have a monopoly in the Lincoln market. That doctor gave up, as well. Both doctors were wrong about me not having Inflammatory Bowel Disease. Both specifically told me I did not have it. Last week I had a foot of my intestines removed, badly diseased with Crohn's (IBD, which I don't have, right?) Neither doctor went far enough to find my problem. After my surgery, a 3rd doctor from this same practice broke the news. He was the coldest by far. Couldn't care less he was telling me I had to have intravenous infusions the rest of my life. Was in and out in under 5 minutes (would've been 2 or 3 had I not asked a question.) I will not go back to anyone here.

I ve been going to this office for 3 years and am still have stomach pain. Was told by Dr.Lawton to go on a low Fodmap diet and when I asked for information about the diet the PA said they didn t actually know anything about it. There only other solution has been to prescribe one different medication after another, none of which help. I ve also been ran through a series of expensive testing that hasn t helped. I ll also agree with the other posts that the front desk staff and phone operators aren t very personable.

This rating is for ONE doctor only. I d give a negative rating if I could. I strongly WARN against Dr. Sorrell. Terrible bedside manner. My experience with him was horrible! I had an emergency situation, was admitted to hospital. He was the doctor on call. When I visited with him he was not friendly nor understanding. I was in too much pain to care at the time. I had to have a colonoscopy during my hospital stay. When it was time for the procedure, he was advised by the nurse that I wasn t under yet from sedation. He ignored her and began to prep for the procedure. She again, told him, loudly this time, that I still wasn t under. The other nurse who was assisting him heard this too. He still ignored her and started my procedure, while I was still awake. I said NO! Then I watched him as he was doing everything. I was unable to move to avoid possible injury. I could see the monitor they use to view everything during the colonoscopy. I watched the entire procedure. I could hear my heart monitor and my heart rate was elevated. The nurse who told him I wasn t under, sat by my side the entire time and kept saying she was so sorry. The sedation did not take until after my procedure was finished. The next thing I remember is waking up in my hospital room. I reported him while I was in the hospital, but nothing ever came of it. In my opinion he should not be practicing medicine. My follow up physician was another gastroenterologist who is awesome and whom I continue to see.

They told me I was having a procedure done. I showed up and they told me I wasnt having it and the procedure was never scheduled. The provider I saw was not very friendly and she made me feel uncomfortable. After spending 10 minutes talking she told me I needed the procedure I originally came in for. When they called to schedule the procedure they had me set up for the wrong procedure.

Great doctors and other care providers. But was VERY rude over the phone about a balance I didn't even know existed. Treated me as if I was trying to run from the bill? A little more tact and decency from whoever called would be nice. (BTW, I paid the measly bill over the phone immediately upon finding out about it)

I need to get another opinion about by "tumor" in my colon but I do not want to see Dr. Petersen again. I am looking for a Dr. who is willing to consider a holistic approach to care. Find the cause and not treat the symptom. I do have blood in my stool so I need to see someone and not have to wait till August to get in. I have looked at going to Omaha but they are the ones that are clear out to August....a person could die.
