I've never been so disappointed. In the cultural environment, they promote sexual intercourse. And this is provided that the target audience of the museum is both children and adults. This is a museum of modern art. And they chant the sexual act, as something comparable to good. These people are insane and offend people's feelings. It's extremely unpleasant for me to talk about this, but comrades, let's still think sometimes with our heads. I'm 20 years old and I understand that it's too early for children to know about it. And many women are uncomfortable to see this. It is immoral and immoral. This is a blasphemous attitude to the moral values of the Russian people, which have evolved over many centuries and, as a result, have come to primitivism. A monkey lifestyle is what everyone has been waiting for.

An interesting place of modern art in Moscow. When I visited this place, only one wing of this museum was open because other art exhibitions were being prepared, so this place can only get 4 stars from me.

Mixed impressions. On the one hand, it has a good structure, a lot of space, a book is not bad, there is a buffet. On the other hand, there is a strange attitude of security both at the entrance and inside. Frequent problems not only with shooting objects, but also generally do not allow to come close to the exhibits. Pretty decent entry price tag.
There are interesting exhibitions for which it is worth to be patient (thanks for holding them), but otherwise, it is better to go to another place.

A good museum for lovers of contemporary art. Exhibitions are not updated as often as we would like. But the museum has a free library with unique books on contemporary art, including photo books.

We were waiting for a concert by Honne, in connection with the warning of the Ministry of Emergencies (August 8-9), everything was canceled and the park had to be closed. I want to say a huge thank you for organizing, the concert did take place very soon! Thanks for the polite coordinators, they will answer any question and will help! In general, it is clear that you are loving your business and people and they want to answer you the same

A bit strange place, maybe I'm still far from modern art. Especially so modern, which is usually exhibited here. However, if you want to see many unusual and enthusiastic people, as well as pass the bad weather in the park bitter - then I highly recommend visiting Garage.

At the entrance to Gorki Park and on the grounds outside, the terrace is signposted as a viewpoint. Hoping for a nice view over the park and the city we went. Then you pay 500RUB (7 ) for a tiny exhibition. Then the viewpoint was closed. Of course no one told us.
Those who are interested in modern art may come here at his expense. Unfortunately nothing was given to me.

The garage is like 5th Avenue in Manhattan, in Moscow there are several modern art museums, but Garage is one. This is usually brought to the famous exhibitions. I managed to get on Takashi Murakami Under radiation rain. It was a sold-out, the apple has nowhere to fall, everyone fotkayut and examine the exhibits. This is one of the drawbacks of Garage, a place of worship, prepare for what will be a lot of people. The building is beautiful, cozy, lots of light. Garage has a loyalty program, a library and a cafe, lectures, training courses (although the latter are not cheap). It's nice to see that the museum has taken care of people with disabilities (there are parking spaces for disabled people and ramps), visually impaired visitors (you can come here with a guide dog). There is a separate toilet with a changing table for mothers with children.

Beautiful place, really nice cashiers, the exhibition was very interesting and thought provoking. There is a wardrobe, you can leave your bags there, toilets, cafe, a shop with books and other art souvenirs. At the gallery there is a discount for students. They give out masks at the entrance. There are hand sanitizers. It s kind of chilly during autumn and you ll be asked to leave your coat at the wardrobe, so dress accordingly.

The place itself is extremely interesting, compare the exhibitions held in the Garage and the samples of "modern art", the exhibited ones will not say where. And Takashi Murakami s exhibition was really amazing, I m not a big fan of Japanese culture, but it s worth a look! Who was not - in a hurry, put up on February 4.

The legendary restaurant "Seasons" worked in this building. During the perestroika years, it was a fire, and by 2015 the building and mosaic were restored. Previously, there was a suspended ceiling over the "Autumn" - now a strip of red brick is in its place. Grigory Revzin calls the mosaic "a characteristic example of monumental hackwork of the early 70s, which was customary to decorate the buildings of the houses of culture, registry offices and educational institutions."

Psychedelic, illuminated by the explosion of Hiroshima: Takashi Murakami
Was at the exhibition Takashi Murakami "Will be a gentle rain" in the Museum of Modern Art "Garage". Still, "the East is a complicated business," a completely different culture and expression of the artist's feelings. I like it. For the most part very cheerful. 100% of this exhibition can be spent with children. They are much calculated: in addition to life-affirming colors (in both words) figures and pictures, there is a children's hill designed by the author and ... a whole mountain of Japanese toys (the passage between the stands strictly in groups of no more than 3 and enhanced protection :). Most of the author's works are executed in a game form. Around decorating - alien to European art, the more interesting it is to see.
The exhibition presents photos dedicated to August 1945 (the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki). According to the idea of the curators of the exhibition, this event is a turning point in the worldview of modern Japanese. The nuclear disaster was the starting point for a new visuality: from post-apocalyptic visions to a conscious departure from reality and its persistent displacement. I was most impressed by the traces of people left on the bridge.
The title of the exhibition - "There Will Be a Caressing Rain" refers to Ray Bradbury's story from the series "Martian Chronicles", on which the same Soviet animated film (1984) was still shot. The action there unfolds after a nuclear catastrophe, which left only ashes from people. So a direct reference to the tragedy of Hiroshima. Psychedelic, lit by the explosion of Hiroshima.
The author is very diverse: from classical Japanese engraving (samurai drawings - you can not photograph) to dolls for cartoons.

You are an adult and you come to a large modern museum.

You give 500 rubles

It turns out that there is only one exhibition and that about the Soviet underground (1 room)

?

Do you want to go to the second of the existing two exhibitions "you are on the air"

All tickets are sold out

Go to a cafe where they ask you for money? Go to the souvenir shop, where they ask you for money again?

(?)

What?)

The museum is clean, tickets for 300, there are free hours on Friday. The exhibition of the 60s of the USSR is certainly not for everyone, but it s interestingly designed, there is a bookstore on the second floor (there are a lot of interesting books with designer designs, beautiful postcards, toys and much more), the first restaurant. There are no problems with parking. I recommend to visit.

The building is impressive on the outside, but it's a rather small museum (holds up to 6 exhibitions at a time) and I didn't find it very catchy.
Likes: interesting giftshop, the staff is fluent in English;
Dislikes: we were unable to enjoy the interactive parts, because there was nobody available to assist us and we were not allowed to try it by ourselves either.
Overall, I would reccomend it if you have the time, but I would not make a priority out of it.

I visited the museum on the recommendation of my sister and for good reason. At first it seemed inconspicuous, it was very cold inside and almost empty floors. But as you go further and observe the installations, you understand how much meaning is invested in them, and what other films and audio installations are hidden behind other walls. The thematic environmental collection of art objects surprises with its national diversity. The museum s store on the ground floor also deserves special praise: you can find books on art in different languages and purchase unusual souvenirs.

I went to this museum for the exhibition of Takashi Murakami.

What a wonderful museum this is, its industrial feeling along with contemporary art is amazing.

Also have a look at the museum shop, it is huge and has lots of interesting stuff!

It is located just in the middle of the beautiful Gorky park, where a huge ice skating rink is in winter.

How can a museum call itself a center of contemporary art, using manual inspection of things and a body with a metal detector at the entrance to the building?
You only repel visitors, creating a security theater, relieving yourself of responsibility for such an excessive action. If someone wants to carry out a terrorist attack, he will do so in relation to the queue for inspection.
Disgusting visitors. And no need to talk about "security concerns"

Couldn't understand why I feel so pressured and do not enjoy visiting Garage. Today I realised: you don't enjoy because of employees and security. Unlike any other contemporary museum in New York, Amsterdam and other cities, you feel yourself a criminal who came to steal art objects. And all that for your money! You've been watched the whole time you're in Garage as if you are a criminal! The faces of employees and security are stone like. Typical soviet stoned faces. Not sure if they know how to smile. They have an air as if they came down to allow you to watch precious art objects. You feel constantly guarded and you feel how their eyes are just constantly on you. Everytime you meet eyes of security and employees you see unfriendly cold faces. I have visited numerous museums around the globe, and I'm an avid museum goer, but I have never felt anything like that in other museums.

there is a cool cafe and on Sundays you can go up to the roof, where there is also wine and cocktails. there is a garage library nearby, where it is very comfortable to read different books of their own publishing house and many others, in different languages. although the number of places in the library is decreasing every year, as there are more and more readers.
