Great museum of modern art. When visiting Moscow, the garage must not be missing.
For lovers of contemporary art. This museum has more for its originality.
Garage museum is located deep inside Gorky park. You can't possibly drive there, you have to walk quite a lot to get there. If you plan to visit it, come there at least three hours before closing time. It's not that easy to find. Inside they have a bookshop, souvenir shop and a coffee place.
I ll tell you honestly, the most interesting place in this museum is the toilet, the exhibition is this one room, and this is not an exhibition, but a farce, supposedly for three hundred square meters. I m just not advising you to go there, or even boycott, because the same mincemeat , if anyone knows what I m talking about, was much more interesting and cultural, and it s just slag. So there are also three hundred parts), although they must pay extra for visiting this "museum".
The museum and the exposition are excellent, everything is very interesting, if you are familiar with modern art, you can find new ideas for yourself. But the staff put a deuce. Sculptures in front of the museum forbid to touch a very serious guard, at the entrance, too, is another not very hospitable guard. Staff inside does not know how to talk with young children. One cries: do not touch, the other on the machine repeats: do not touch, please, thanks. And it's for children of 1-2 grades, I think.
Such an amazing exhibition about the environment, with different kind of artist and scientific works. The Cafeteria is worth to sit along. The toilets are very clean and modern.
Not the first time, everything was somehow # sour #, expectations from the place are orders of magnitude higher
You can see Russian contemporary art and there is a souvenir shop in the facility.
However, since the number of exhibits is not so large, it may be more dangerous than I thought.
Unique museum space. Everything is done wisely. It is immediately evident that a team of professionals who love their job are working here. And how many interesting educational
programs!
Very tasty coffee and good breakfast all day in the restaurant on the first floor.
It is pleasant to be in a modern exhibition venue with good and good-natured staff.
Well small museum space.
But the light is awful!
Always a lot of glares from soffit spotlight and uneven illumination. Stupid rules, staff always stopes and say what not to do, where not to go..it absolutely kills enjoying the exhibition.
Even Goya exhibition was perceived as boring.
Meh. This place is a giabt art book store first of all. It's a nice, quirky artsy trendy place for people to hang out. The venue today was really boring as there were all but two rooms to see with a few pieces. The wolf and child sculpture was quite impressive and beautiful. Didnt like the security guard standing there watching over us with his arms crossed.
Big contemporary art gallery with several exhibitions. Located in a cool big park. There is also very nice books shop inside the gallery and an eatery.
Interesting exhibitions, good infrastructure: friendly staff everywhere (reception, cafes, attendants in the halls). Spent time with pleasure.
Amazing place and it's location within an urban Park with a small Theatre in the front makes it even better to access.. The lights on the facade are lit only in the night time. During my visit only the 3rd floor exhibition was accessible but I was lost in the simple Architecture and details of the building itself. There is a small coffee shop and a bookshop for the enthusiasts looking for some monographs on Russian based Architecture firms. Altogether, it's a must go for any Art or Architecture related student/professional.
This space in Moscow really breathes a special air of freedom and creativity. Almost always cool installations and a very cool cafe at the museum.
The park is excellent, the Museum is interesting !!! I liked it !!
In the process of visiting modern exhibitions, you understand that it was necessary to prepare: read materials on the topic, take a brochure and disassemble everything in detail. Therefore, to get the most out of the pleasure of visiting Garage, read and prepare)
A fantastic space to see world-class contemporary artists. The building itself is beautifully designed and built, with every detail and angle thought through by architects OMA and Rem Koolhaas. The content of the exhibitions are strong and reading materials are provided with each exhibition to give context to the work. The bookshop was an especially great surprise, with excellent variety and breadth of content.
Everything else is modern and fashionable, exhibitions, cafes, shops and the public. But the guards are clearly from some garages in Biryulyovo found - horror.
The truth disappoints if they do not have any special exhibition on any special date. I do not recommend it if you do not have plenty of time.
Like if this review has helped you.
A wonderful museum, but sometimes very tricky exhibitions. That is, when you go to see art, you always go to see someone's point of view of the world. But sometimes the curators, perhaps, take on a little more than necessary, and you do not understand why you are offered to watch it. It's a very fine line between "I think people will love this" and "I'm sure people will love this."
One of my favorite places. Special thanks for introducing Laibach. I love the garage!
Does not deserve any attention. It offers 3-4 objects to see and is not worth time spent there. I've visited MOMA in NYC and this one does not come anywhere close.
Succubus exposition, inadequately high price, rudeness from caretakers, work of curators? -I do not see.,. go better to the New Tretyakovsk through the road.
(exhibition- "If our tin can speak)
Interesting modern art museum with rotating exhibits. If you re in the area, definitely worth a visit!
There was a very interesting exhibition, the issue of ecology has been popular lately
Interesting place. It is a pity that only one exhibition worked.
Awesome building and cool territory around! And the exhibitions themselves taste and color :)
Museum of Modern Art, various workshops are often held, there is a gift shop and a cozy cafe.
Honestly a lot of hackwork, which is designed for an amateur or uneducated person. If this is "modern art", then it's sad. Twice I was and everything was not going well. I admire art, but I could not appreciate it. Maybe next time I'll be lucky, then I'll change the rating.
Sooooo high art. It was incomprehensible and unreasonably expensive.
Sometimes interesting exhibitions, and sometimes for special ones, when you are a village because you do not understand anything.
A thorough search at the entrance (without a small search) discourages any desire to enter
It doesn t smell like art here, it is forced to show the contents of bags and leave water, an ugly room.
I highly suggest looking up the exhibit before coming to the museum. The exhibit I saw today was mediocre at best. There was also an absurd amount of staff that made the museum overly crowded.
Do not waste your money or time here. That being said past exhibits seemed very interesting. Just do your research before coming here.
Most of the exhibits were closed and there was not much to see
The toilet here is really cool, well, the exhibition, of course, too))
Cafe is rather weak. Prices are high, unlike portions of dishes. Coffee is bad, especially American. He's just sour!
One of the best contemporary art museums in Russia.
Garage Museum located in the centre of Gorky Park. Very easy to find this place and if you find any difficulties, google translate will help you a lot to speak with locals. This place is great with many free facilities, such as toilet and free wifi. The building looks relatively new and well managed. The exhibition in this museum also well-arranged and changes every season (?) The exhibition in the museum worthed the money you paid for.
I met this place not long ago, but I fell in love. There are many interesting exhibitions that can be reached free of charge on Friday evening. Separate pleasure delivers their cinema. Here, movies with Russian subtitles are shown, and I do not like voice acting, because the voice of the actors conveys emotions, moods. There are many different events organized here.
Excellent reconstruction from Rem Koolhaas + exhibitions, restaurant and bookstore
Small museum with great exhibitions of contemporary art
Choose everyday life, definitely, there will be a crowd at interesting expositions. All the more interesting. Five. Kinetic and optical art - interesting to any age! The wardrobe is decent. There is a toilet. With a stroller you can go.
Founded in 2008 by Dasha Zhukova, who is also an Art.sy investor, Garage today is much more than just a gallery space. It's a compulsory destination for Russia s growing art community.
I love Garage! They have most immersive exhibitions in Moscow. They make better versions of the exhibitions I have seen in other countries. Oh, I almost forgot about their free lectures and cinema!
It has everything I need: art, great atmosphere, interesting and friendly people, lots of space and a cat! I should also mention delicious food and coffee.
A great place with great exhibitions. Always helps in a creative calm. Excellent exposure, installation and theme! Pleasant cafe and souvenir department. Little things that complement the exhibition event
Garage - an incredible museum of modern art! I never left disappointed. Exhibitions of artists always draw very skillfully. You can get for free - for example, now, at the Pepperstein exhibition. Students benefit. Also in the garage you can work on probation, but you need to pass the selection. In the museum there is a shop with books devoted to art, and different measures.
A great place when there are interesting exhibitions inside, so surely before you go, look at what is being exhibited this time. The museum itself is conveniently located in Gorky Central Park, so if you don t like the exhibition, then you can always go for a walk through the beautiful park, which is full of various entertainment.
Guys are trying, Pts interesting. Student discounts are available
Modern and posetive, space with interesting exhibitions!
Modern building, many exhibitions, sometimes free, but rarely
Queues are everywhere, despite the cost of a ticket of 500. But such exhibitions are not frequent, you need to be educated culturally.
Good coffee and great Moscow Mules. If you want something to eat and sit outside the main area, it can be complicated. Our waitress ran away three times and we had to switch restaurant to get something to eat.
No exhibitions were found, but there are interesting books and people
Interesting art center. A private museum inside Gorkji Park. To visit
Always interesting exhibitions, interesting not only for adults but also for children)
