One of the most beautiful hotels in Cairo is a unique hotel located on the island of Zamalek, with a magnificent view of the Nile and the Cairo Marriott Hotel, one of Cairo's historic hotels. It is a large 5-star hotel located in the Zamalek area on the island of the Nile River in Cairo, Egypt. The hotel was originally known as the island palace built by Khedive Ismail to welcome the guests of the celebrations of the opening of the Suez Canal and built Khedive Ismail Island Palace in 1869 to be the official residence of the guests of the celebrations of the opening of the Suez Canal, especially guest of honor Empress Eugenie wife of Emperor Napoleon III, By German architect Julius Franz, and by the architect Karl von Deitch, who brought the most luxurious of decorations and accessories from Paris and Berlin at the time. This cost three quarters of one million pounds.
In 1879, the palace was sold to the Egyptian hotel company to pay part of the debt of Khedive Ismail and was transferred to the Palace Hotel. After the collapse of tourism in Egypt during the First World War, the owner decided to sell the palace in 1919 to one of the Lebanese princes, Prince Habib Lutfallah In 1962, the palace was nationalized and converted back into a hotel called Omar Khayyam Hotel. In the early 1970s, Marriott International managed the hotel.
