Great black owned venue. I've attended a few events here. Very spacious and showcasing some of the best African American artists the city has to offer. The location is a great choice in the sense that it makes art and the art community easily accessible to the south side residents ; an effort to be more inclusive.

This gallery is truly a hidden gem on the south side of Chicago. It has a great atmosphere and beautiful mind invoking artwork. My visits have always left me inspired.
To the writer of the one bad review I see here, I must say. Do some research on Ti-Rock and her accomplishments, Go read her statement.
I applaud her. She stands for unity between the races.
If you're not part of the solution...

I like the gallery I have been there a few times now. Connect to their website for events free and paid. They both are great.i also like and love the concept of living space above the gallery for artist.but the floors in the above apts are not suited for a working artist. They are too nice.

Delighted in the NigeriaConnection opening exhibit, hearing from the gifted artsts, pallete pleasing nigerian food, and warmest welcomes by owners Andre & Florence. Returned on Friday for the last leg of the Bronzeville Trolley Tour and back to Gallery Guichard for an evening of dance indoors and out.

Spacious, vibrant and sacred ground to revive your artistic genes through the displayed works of local and other artists.

Gallery Guichard is the premier art gallery for African American and Black Art. The gallery is owned and run by Andre Guichard and Frances Guichard who are husband and wife. The Famous Andre Guichard is available by appointment only.

I finally went to visit the new location of Gallery Guichard. It was formerly located at 35th & King Dr. It has moved to 47th & Vincennes which one block east of King Drive. The new gallery is spacious. I had to just sit on one of their comfy sofa and take it all in. You can meander there admiring art and still not see everything. Andre and his wife Frances have truly uplifted Bronzeville with inspirational art center.

We came here to celebrate a sister having a cd release party! The actual venue was small but full of energy and beautiful artwork. The party was held on their rooftop, it's only 2 stories so it's not to bad for the people afraid of heights. You do have to get buzzed in and be quick enough to open both doors or at least make sure you have another person with you. I definitely suggest people visit this gallery and that they have more events to bring more attention to this stunning atmosphere of a place. Lastly but not least, Analogsoul was beautiful, amazingly phenomenal and did a fantastic show!

Ti-Rock , a white woman artist for New Orleans is displaying a three dimensional image of Mike Browns Body. Andre Guichard and the artist are praised as courageous for this non artistic lifesized diorama. I hear folks here in Ferguson say this is disrespectful and for this to be about "conversations" and "healing" are horrifically misguided. Is there time for you to reconsider this exhibit? #shutitdown #really Ms Leslie, who remains unnamed as Mike Brown's Mother, is expected to see this? Please take a look at white supremacy is and see if your co-opting of this artistic "opportunity" fits under any semblance of appropriate behavior. I realize the Guichards are Black. #whitesupremacy ensares all of us in a system, a system where it is ok for a white woman to attempt to lead conversations on matters that she cannot possibly speak authentically, think Rachel Dolezol most recently. #erasure and disrespect of the black experience fall under this supremacy

It was great to see the local artists being supported here. There was a wonderful array of black art styles that were inspiring. And as an Native /Black/American Artist, that's a resident in the bronzville area I can walk for blocks and be there so wonderful. Keep up the great work gallery guichard.

This gallery is filled with the art and soul of emerging artists. The gallery sits in the historical Bronzeville area of Chicago. Francis and Andre are also philanthropists who recognize those committed to the community.

One of my favorite Bronzeville spots! Supporting local talent in a nicely crafted space is a win-win. You can also host private events here in which the ambience makes for the perfect setting for those laced with class.

***OVER CHARGED DURING A PANDEMIC ***

***OVER CHARGED DURING A PANDEMIC ***
This facility charged us $2K to rent this facility for 200 guests. Once COVID hit we asked for a refund & got the run around. So we kept the venue & then were told we could only have 50 guests but they never offered to adjust the price even though they could NOT accommodate our original request. After some serious negotiating they finally took off $500.
TODAY I find out that a family friend rented this same facility for $500.
This facility has no tables, chairs, kitchen (sink & microwave only) so I'm trying to figure out what this $2K is for? Want to bring your own liquor? THERE'S AN ADDITIONAL FEE! Seems like we got taken advantage in the middle of a pandemic. NOT COOL! WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS HERE AGAIN.
