Our daughter has been going on holiday via Europa Kinderhulp for a few years now, we are very satisfied and it is going very well. W e are very satisfied and hope you will continue like this for a number of years.
Disappointing. We wanted to give ourselves up as volunteers as holiday parents and we looked forward to that. However after many questions an information package was received and contact would be made with us, after 2 months no hearing but an email sent and still no response. Apparently there is no shortage .....
What a beautiful organization. Immediately a good feeling during the first introductory meeting with employees of Europe Child Care. We have welcomed a guest girl from Austria a number of times. The communication and guidance was clear to us and it was nice that there are such short lines with the supervisors. We have been able to make so many beautiful memories with this sweet girl and are still in touch with her.
It's great that the people of this organization are so committed to children. Chapeau to all of you and keep it up.
We as a foster home for Europe child support fall in 1 surprise after another. After proper consultation at home with family discussed that we would like to open our house to a child who is in short supply, of course we are happy to do this. But we come across really the strangest situations, a child from the Netherlands comes to us for a few weeks' holiday to make sure the child is really ready, and can relax for a while. I'm going to keep it short for you otherwise it will be a long story a very long story. It starts with an Apple iPad, on which Netflix is installed and enjoyed with great pleasure, has already been to two amusement parks with mother in the weeks of the first holiday, and asks for another one. We are a very normal family, owner-occupied house in a nice neighborhood in the Randstad, son who is still in high school, so very normal. Child has been in a foster home for many years, but has excellent contact with parents. In a conversation with Europe, we tell child help that we have the feeling that the child is doing a lot of things and comes up with Netflix. It is also to spare the foster parents for the two weeks! We say sorry, it is about the child here! These people have foster parenthood for which they receive a reimbursement of more than 550 per child per child and there are quite a few. It turns out they went on a vacation themselves, children at Europe dropped off childcare and happy holidays .... We find this shocking, really true. I mention 10 things, the child has a huge amount, this is not why they do this, there are many children in the Netherlands who really need help, and not to spare paying foster families who get money for it. I will never do this again, we are very happy to help a child but this organization is laughable and has a very bad feeling about it. Think carefully about it is our advice, and don't be fooled. It is a warm organization, professionally run by enthusiastic volunteers.
The children are selected by organizations that know the child's home situation well and put them in contact with the organization of Europa Kinderhulp.
The holiday trips, which the children usually need so badly, unfortunately did not take place this year due to the corona crisis.
To encourage the children, more than two thousand surprise boxes have been sent all over Europe.

We have been a holiday parent via Europa Kinderhulp for 5 years now and it is very special to do. The few weeks that our holiday child is on holiday with us, we see him revive and enjoy. Our children also really enjoy having a "holiday brother" !!
Parents of Austrian children have been on holiday for 3 years. Nice to do something for children from my native country here in the Netherlands.
We have been a holiday family for children from Hanover, the Netherlands and England since 1993. We were also regularly a "reception address" for children who temporarily needed a different place. We have always kept in touch with our oldest guest child from Hanover (now 33 years old) and last year our English holiday child (now 28 years old) suddenly appeared on the doorstep. I still find most moving to hear that they still regularly look through their scrapbooks that I made for them every holiday and that their best childhood memories were the holidays at our home.
Imagine if your own child (ren) would say that about their childhood: "My best childhood memories are holidays with complete strangers who let me be a child for three weeks ...."
It shows how necessary it is still for children to be able to be a carefree child for three weeks.
It may seem strange that the holiday child has more expensive things than your own child, or tells about an amusement park where it has been with his / her mother because that does not fit in the picture that we have of an underprivileged child .. But above all I felt sorry with the foster child who cannot live at home but is not really "at home" in the foster family; he / she is not allowed to go on holiday with the family and has to go to complete strangers again .... that does not even make an Iphone with Netflix films good .....
