Arrived in Florence by train on a Friday in August approx 11am, & walked to the gallery, which wasn't too far from the station. Didn't buy tickets in advance & didn't buy from sales reps outside the gallery as they charge a handling fee. We queued approx 20 minutes. They admit people in blocks of 20 so queue soon goes down. Under 18's are free, we just showed their passports to prove age at the desk. Advisable to check gallery website on admission tickets menu for offers for different age brackets (under 18's & 18-25 offers).
Gallery was wonderful, not too crowded & The statue of David did not disappoint.

It s worth it to book your tickets online & in advance to skip the line.

Go for the David, which is powerful to see in person. Set aside about 15-30 minutes for this museum, not much more to see outside of the room with the David in it.

In my opinion, Dawid is the only interesting work in this gallery, but it is worth going only for him.

Florence is an incredible city in itself. Very pleasant atmosphere, with the history of Europe in front of your eyes. It is ideal to get there early for long lines.

David by Michelangelo. The best masterpiece I have seen in my life. You have to see it if you are interested in art, history or if you are a human being. It was 8 for admission in October 2017.

Practically one enters only to see Michelangelo's David. For the rest, works arranged without criteria, placed very close to each other. They seemed piled up on the walls. unwatchable

The statue of David is amazing, and well worth entry all on its own. But there is little else of interest. It's a very small museum, and it's only claim to fame is that one statue.

The building is rather small, but the collection is huge. David is more impressive in person than I would have imagined.

A disappointment, unfortunately, the David is of course impressive, but otherwise ... a few unfinished sculptures by Michelangelo, a room with plaster sculptures, an area with old musical instruments and a lot of religious art. All in stuffy air and heat and the usual crowds.
The admission price is much too high for this equivalent. If we hadn't reserved the tickets and waited for hours in the sun, it would have been a complete failure, too bad.

Fantastic art gallery where Michelangelo's David is located

It is spectacular to know the David sculpture. I believe it is a master piece. So many details. There were too much inspiration and hability to be able to create such as a big things in time without computers.

Wonderful place. There aren't many halls, but there are quite a few exhibits. If you do not have an appointment, you have to prepare for a long queue to enter.

A place where you will want to spend a long time. There will be no point in going 1 hour before it closes. They took off 45 minutes after taking us in.

Amazing art and of course the David. Buy you tickets in advance and save an hour or two in line.

Charming museum, now there are very few rooms. The under 25 price is worth it but the full price is quite expensive for the few collections

This place is home to one of the most famous statues in the world, The David. It's a sight to behold as the Galleria places the statue in the best lighting. They have other great works of art as well dating back to the 1300's.

Great museum. I spent whole day in there. I was lucky because it was less crowded than usual. Please visit here early in the morning, if not you won't be able to take a picture with the most beautiful statue.

There is no need to describe it. A concentrate of art and history unique in the world and unmissable. Even David alone would justify its existence. Literally a world heritage site.

The David statue is the only thing g that it is worthy in the museum. But it is so great that you must visit it

In a word, BELO. If you are in Florence the visit is a must.
As I visited on the first Sunday of the month, the visit was free.

A simply spectacular statue. All the details. However, there is one to see in the square in front of the vecchio palace. Instead of paying 12 euros.

David is extraordinary and well worth the visit. 40 minute wait without a reservation on a Sunday. I was happy with that... One your inside it is not too over crowded.

Go early. We arrived right before it opened, were in within 10 minutes, and had half an hour to actually enjoy and appreciate the Statue of David. By far the highlight of my trip to Florence.

After that, we were then able to explore the rest of the exhibits with little to no crowds.

Sensational!!! The most beautiful perfection of Michelangelo's forms, "Davi", was another work of the Renaissance ...

David must be seen here, the authentic and not the reproductions. He must be admired and with him the author, a tormented man and an immense artist. An almost divine work. Do not miss the collection of religious paintings from 1200 to 1400, a splendid and didactic excursus. Don't forget the plaster cast. A few steps away is the college of San Marco, a religious, historical and artistic place: Savonarola, Beato Angelico and more.Other steps and you will find an all-Italian excellence: the hard stone factory, not just a small museum. , but unmissable, especially because it displays works produced and restored here, which embellish the royal houses all over the world and export the Florentine technique everywhere. The factory is also a unique restoration school in the world, which admits few students from all over the world every year.

David is the most beautiful perfect sculpture you will ever see.

A lot smaller than the uffizi and most of the paintings look like they are done in the same style. But to see David, it's well worth the visit

The David set-up is really nice, but the rest of the exhibition is uncared for and the wait is short for the cost

This is the gallery where one of Michelangelo's most perfect works is found, the statue of David. By itself it is worthwhile to know the place. But the gallery has several interesting works to discover ...

Very nice place with good paintings, sculptures and of course the Great David that is totally imposing and incredible

Giving this anything less than 5 stars is not possible. To witness with your own eyes the beauty of Michaelangelo's David is to understand true talent and it's one of the greatest marble sculptures in the world. Be sure to pre-book tickets or go with a guide. I would recommend a guide as ours told us so many details we would have missed.

Great gallery. Must see David. It takes your breath away. Just plan ahead. Line was very long. We asked our hotel and they were able to get us tickets to the front and we didn't have to wait all day.

Loved it truly awe inspiring to see such works of art! David was not like I had imagined he would be lol for some reason I imagined he would be shorter! Amazing detail and efforts well worth the few bucks to see! It was quite busy when we went but we were still able to see all of the main attractions and the smaller ones as well I just wish we had more time to appreciate the details!

A really interesting place, mandatory for those visiting Florence

You cannot go to Florence and not visit this place. I recommend paying the extra money and skipping the long lines. Buy your tickets in advance and expect to be in here for about an hour and a half. It is not a huge museum, but there are some pieces that you have only seen in history books.

Despite the amazing David, there is a nice room with plaster figures.

Well worth the 8 to see The David and other works. Get there right at opening for a much shorter line and better experience.

If you like Early Renaissance art - recommend it. Big and nice collection.

Very beautiful, works on display and courteous staff

Worth it. Okay, I'll be honest. This place should be called, "The David. Also some other things." However, that is not a complaint, because The David is enough for its own museum! A small museum, this place LITERALLY is designed around the David. There are some paintings along the hallways, but the other items of interest are The Prisoners and the gallery of student graduation projects. The Prisoners are Michaelangelo's unfinished sculptures, and the other gallery is fun because it's a collection of sculptures that art students have submitted for graduation! Buy a Firenze Card. Go meet David.

Absolutely gorgeous. Come in the afternoon - the queues are shorter. However, I still was queueing for an hour, from 3pm to 4pm. Then to hours were quite enough for a visit.

Visited especially for Michelangelo's David, not to be overlooked is the sculpture room and the architecture of the gallery itself. Unmissable!

No words, the place is absolutely amazing, we're in Florence for 2 days, been in twice, dont think we can leave for Rome without a third visit. If you're in florence, you need to get here!!!

It's essentially just the David, but that's 5 stars on its own always. A must see.

This gallery is worth the visit even though non-EU ticket prices are outrageously different (12 vs 2 eu for residents). The main attraction is of course, David. And the art lives up to the hype! It is an astonishing example of Michelangelo's work. The statue appears ready to step off the platform and into battle. The expression on his face is hesitant and combative. Michelangelo was deserving of even more accolades bringing marble to life!

Amazing art in a great setting. Manageable even when very crowded. Recommend skip the line passes. Well worth it.
