My husband was admitted to the facility following a stroke and three weeks in a hospital. The staff was wonderful with him and the rehab department was amazing. After two weeks, I saw a huge improvement and was able to take him home. They also helped set up home rehab. The nursing staff communicated with me daily to see that his needs were met. Would definitely recommend this facility for rehab.

My mom is presently a patient at Future Care Chesapeake. I have to say, that the staff at Future Care are incredible. Mom has gotten great personal care and any questions or suggestions have been properly attended to.
She has had several room mates who have been compatible with her; an example of staff going that extra mile. PT and OT is the best that she has ever had. She has been an inpatient at Future Care in the past. PT took her from being immobile to being able to walk on her own, without the use of her walker, in just 10 weeks. She is on her way to that same recovery, with vast improvements daily thanks to her OT and PT therapists. If you have a loved in need of rehabilitative care, this is the place!

Future Care has been taking excellent care of my husband . The staff is friendly, caring, and is there to answer any of our families questions. Speech therapist and physical therapist are kind and very helpful in helping my husband to improve so that we can get him home. I highly recommend FutreCare to anyone who needs a rehab center.

My dad was transferred to Baltimore Washington Hospital after he fell and broke a couple ribs, then was transferred to University of Maryland Shock Trauma. He was then transferred to Futurecare Chesapeake for rehabilitation. We are so grateful to all of the wonderful staff that helped get my dad stronger and back home. Beverly, Danielle and Amy in the rehab department, Tanya the GNA, Lightfoot and Denise the nurses, and Caitlin and Chris in admissions are just a few of the many employees that went above and beyond for my dad. I would absolutely recommend Futurecare Chesapeake for anyone that needs rehabilitation.

One of the things I like about Future Care Chesapeake is that the facility is clean, mostly importantly my room was cleaned daily. I had a comfortable bed in my room, which was a plus. For the most part the nursing staff was pretty good, if I needed anything they showed up right away and was easy to communicate with. The food wasn't my favorite but the staff did get me a alternate meal, which made it better. Therapy was flexible, I went whenever they had me scheduled throughout the day. The therapist was pretty good, they all worked well together and we did different activities to do to get me independent again. In therapy I did things such as standing up and walking, weight lifting. When I came here my hair was all over and I needed a shave, Future Care had a wonderful beauty shop that offered services to assist me In my appearance, I felt a lot better when I left the beauty shop!!!

Many people have excellent sense of humor like me which is necessary. Quality of care is above average, only a very few people plucked my nerves. Nurses and nurses aides has been pretty good. The Therapy department is very patient and quality of care is very good as well. Therapy makes you work, but this is what I am here for. I went to the dining room once and they served lunch and gave so much food, I thought I won the lottery! The Maintenance staff had a high percentage of interesting and helpful people, I rate them at a 4 star for the customer service and willingness to help. I would like to Thank Dee in housekeeping for getting me the hot cup of coffee, she went above and beyond her scope of her duties!

The doctors were exemplary at Future Care, and saw my loved one everyday while he was in rehab. But what impressed me most about Future Care was the cheerfulness of all the aide staff and cleaning staff. This went a long way during a difficult time, and they were always courteous and helpful.

Everybody is really great here, and I think they care from the bottom of their hearts. Everyone likes my sense of humor as much as I enjoy kidding around. The nursing staff is excellent as a whole, they explain my medications to me before I take it. They are knowledgeable about my care.
The Therapy department as a whole are great too! Rob is my Physical Therapist and I think he is great.Beth Bender is easy to talk to and she is great as well. I noticed they offered activities for the residence at Future Care, although I didn't participate I enjoyed watching other patients attend and have fun as they reap their rewards with enjoyment.
I would like to recommend Future Care as a place to have your dignity while you are recovering from your life situation.

My mom had her big toe amputated. They made her walk to the bathroom on it and by herself. They also stuck her in a room with what appears to be a dementia patient, which is certainly not good for recovery. She is also diabetic and they were not checking her sugar. When they finally did they did it improperly. Unless you hate your loved one do not send them here.

My mother is going through a long wound healing phase and she was at FutureCare and then another place. I also investigated a lot of other facilities in the area. After all that, I can say with confidence that FutureCare is the best around here. The facility itself is very nice, well designed, clean, and Mom loves the gardens. The wound care nurse is amazing and did the best she could with a difficult situation. Most nurses and techs were very caring and attentive. The PT and OT staff are excellent. Most of the food is very good and Mom loved being able to eat in the dining room instead of her room. They were also very accommodating to her food preferences. The activities are excellent also (piano, bingo, worship, and more). I know it's not home, and I know some people will be unlucky enough to get a bad apple ever now and then, but honestly, after seeing other places and reflecting on the care provided at FutureCare Chesapeake, nothing else even comes close to the excellent care they provide. I highly recommend them and I'm so thankful they're here in our community.

My only concerns were the food at times, I didn't get what I ordered. I've had a couple bad room mates, the snoring noise annoyed me... but it didn't last to long, because management handled the situations and moved me if needed. The Rehab Department was very encouraging, I enjoyed working with my therapist. It was a tough adjustment, because I just lost my leg and I felt a bit depressed. They showed me how to function in a new way after losing a limb. Most of the Nursing staff was pretty good as well. Thanks to all the staff at Future Care Chesapeake!

I've been here for 3 years, and its been good. I feel comfortable. I don t usually make friends but here, I get to talk to everyone. The food is alright. I would recommend this place to a friend, if they needed the care. Wendy, the GNA is so caring and lovely. She goes out of her way to help you. You have to get used to it, but it definitely becomes more enjoyable overtime.

I was in this facility for a week after having knee replacement surgery. I found them caring, reliable and the Rehab. Dept. was knowledgeable. My husband was in t his facility on various occasions due to he declining health. The attending doctors and nurses are absolutely the best at keeping me advised of my husbands progress. Just recently my husbands health declined to where he needed 24/7 care. I had no problem with the staff or care. I asked questions and got answers. My husband passed away, it was expected but not this soon, the staff went above and beyond to make me comfortable. They were caring with me as I saw my hubby of 38 years. I soon will have another knee replacement and I will go back here.

My 86-year-old mom fell three weeks ago and came to Future Care Chesapeake for rehabilitation. She has been here for two weeks now and I am very happy with the care she is receiving and her progress. Every department, without exception, from the stellar rehab group to the well-trained nursing staff has been wonderful. Everyone is respectful of my mom and her condition. She came to the facility extremely de-conditioned, unable to leave her bed due to miserable pain from broken ribs and other problems. Over the first few days the doctors and nurses got her pain under control and handled the indignity of her situation with care and concern. I have found, as a family member, it is easy to want your loved one to have instant access to staff and medication. While instant response may not always be possible, caring response has been provided for my mom every step of the way. I highly recommend this care home for any family who needs this service.

My father was transported to this facility after a fall and hip surgery. We blindly sent him sight unseen due to Covid and that made our family apprehensive, having had bad experience at other area rehabs. That said, I cannot say enough about the team at this facility - from the nurses, to the assistants to the social workers. They all communicated with us openly and honestly, kept us up to date on his well being and even called after he was discharged to give us his wellness check results. The team was able to accomplish things with him that have been a struggle for both family and other rehabs to do. I would definitely recommend them!!! I am so grateful for their care and concern for my dad!!!!! <3

I had the misfortune of having a below the knee amputation just about 8 weeks ago. I am a young vibrant 35 year old man and i wasn't sure about going to a rehab facility. But my thought process quickly changed upon meeting the rehab staff. They were some of the nicest caring people ive ever met, they genuinely cared about my recovery and care. They were firm and pushed me to get better each and every day. i quickly adapted and realized that if i followed their lead and instruction that the harder i worked the quicker i would be able to go home. I had both occupational and physical therapy once each day. Lindsey Epling was my main physical therapist and Collen Burr was my main occupational therapist. They were both instrumental in me being ready to face the challenge of going home and being able to function and be productive. Their challenging and creative therapy programs kept me on my toes and allowed me to get stronger and functional on a daily basis. Before long i began to complete task that a few weeks ago were not possible. The rehab portion of my care was the best ive ever received and the overall experience at futurecare was the same. The facility is clean and the nursing staff caring and attentive as well. The food wasn't bad either and meds were always given on time. So if you are looking for a place to get better and go home with the strength and ability in order to function this is the place for you....

I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE FACILITY. IT IS KEPT CLEAN. THE FOOD NEEDS TO BE WORKED ON. SOME STAFF ARE GREAT VERY CARING. THE THERAPY DEPARTMENT IS AWESOME THEY REALLY CARE ABOUT THE PATIENTS GETTING WELL! SO FAR IT HAS BEEN A GREAT EXPERIENCE. IN ORDER FOR THE STAFF TO DO A GOOD JOB THEY NEED MORE STAFF ON THE 7-3 SHIFT AND THE 3-11 SHIFT . THE SHOWER ROOMS NEED TO BE UPDATED!!!! THEY ARE OLD. TERRAE NAT CORNELIA CANDY NJ AND BECKY ARE ALL AMAZING AND I THANK THEM FOR ALL OF THE HELP. THIS PLACE SHOULD NEVER RUN OUT OF PULL UPS AND WIPES!!!!!!.I THINK THE MORAL OF THE STAFF IS LOW AND I THINK THE HIGHER UPS SHOULD TREAT THE STAFF BETTER THEN THEY DO IF YOU TREAT THEM BETTER YOU WOULD GET MORE FROM THEM THE AIDES DO ALL THE WORK.THE FACILITY NEED TO ADD HAIR DRYERS TO THE SHOWER ROOMS.

My mother stayed at this facility for only four mo...

My mother stayed at this facility for only four months, which was an absolute nightmare. She is 91 with dementia, It first started with a fall because the bed alarm was not on and a unlocked wheel chair was left at bedside; they blamed her for that. She was hospitalized twice and after that, the lying begun. They never hold themselves accountable for anything and would rather cover up and falsify documents. The nurses are too incompetent to keep a fluid intake log correctly and don't care about giving meds on time. They take advantage of patients with dementia, and lie to cover up poor patient care. Thank God I was watching because they do not care about the patients. My mother laid in bed all weekend without eating, a fever, and trouble breathing and had to be rushed to the hospital. This did not happen once, but twice. You would think that administration would help but they get highly offended if you report the incident. This facility is nothing but a boarding house for seniors and patients are nothing but cash cows to them. Don't be fooled by the clean facility and the wolves in sheep's clothing.

My wife's grandmother is now residing in this facility after living in an Assisted Living facility for multiple years. The facility is clean, and she is getting much better care than she was provided in the ALF. She received great Physical therapy and is now walking again, and is now engaging with other patients and attending activities that the facility offers. This has been a great move for her.

A friend recently spent one month in Future Care. We chose Future Care because a Neighbor has expressed how pleased he had been with the treatment his wife had received while there. The staff, from maintenance to management always were friendly pleasant and anxious to please. The food was very good, the rooms clean, therapy and staff were great. We especially enjoyed the outdoor garden areas and the jukebox in the dining area. The piano in the dining area was often played by a resident or visitor which added to the pleasant atmosphere.

My mom was there for 2 days and it was the worse care we have ever received in our lives. She was supposed to be there 2 weeks for rehab and we left after 2 days by ambo. We did the tour and it looked okay but trust me when I say it's awful. She laid there for 16 hrs the 1st day with no pain meds after just having back surgery. I then discovered that she had swelling on her backside at bedtime and mentioned it to her nurse. She said the afternoon doctor had documented it but no one ever mentioned it to me. It was so bad she was admitted back to AAMC for IV antibiotics. She is home now doing so great!!!! Whatever you do, do not leave your family members there

This place has the absolute worst management. I ha...

This place has the absolute worst management. I have to say it's a management issues because who is it that's in charge of holding the employees to standards? The overturn on their staff is like a rotating door. I have to micro manage every detail of my fathers care. Even down to a shower. I wouldn't recommend anyone to this facility. The only thing they have to offer is a very nice dining area. I know this line of work is very hard...but wow. My dad is young and still able to help himself a lot. And he's able to communicate to me what is going on. My heart breaks for all the other people at Future Care Chesapeake that do not have a voice in their care. Unless you can spend everyday with your loved one, DO NOT PICK THIS PLACE!! They will keep you in bed as long as they can, send you to doctor appointments without the needed equipment for the patient to be able to participate in the visit (even use the bathroom), rooms are dirty, aides are absent on their shifts (real life hide and seek game), complaints to management are a joke, medication checked off as distributed...but it wasn't, feces left on his butt because no one will come assist in the restroom when the help cord is pulled, no shower in 2 weeks, feces left on shoes and leg brace after a bathroom accident.....this is just a handful of things I can think of that we've encountered in the past few months. MONTHS NOT YEARS. Accidents happen but if this many "accidents" is happening in a few months, imagine what happens over the years of your loved ones elderly care. Very sad. Very unhealthy environment for elderly care unless your loved one is fully active and able to communicate fully....and in that case, how much care do you really need. I'm currently looking for a better facility. Praying we find a place of integrity.

The Nurses, Geriatric Nursing Assistants, Physica...

The Nurses, Geriatric Nursing Assistants, Physical and Occupational therapists', Doctors, Janitorial Staff and Room Cleaning Staff do an outstanding job and go Above and Beyond the Call of Duty in performing their tasks.

When I first arrived here I could only move the big toe on my right foot due to a surgical issue I had. On my first day in therapy I was advised I had a attitude problem in more or less words from a occupational therapist. She was absolutely right in her assessment of me and put me in my place right off the bat which I needed. I had to slow down and listen to them exactly so I can get to the point where I am now walking and climbing stairs. Without their kind help, their guidance, and assistance I would not be where I am today. Thank you Susan and thank all of you for putting me where I am, ready to go home in 8 days. Thank you Susan for your guidance an honest assessment of me. You probably saw that Navy can do anything attitude right off the bat and set me straight. I would like to thank all the therapist both physical and occupational for their excellent work we did together. I was a little depressed when I first arrived here but I will be leaving with a very positive attitude since I can walk and climb stairs and take a shower on my own.

Again thanks to their call to duty for their patients most if not all patients leave here able to take care of themselves walk stairs and walk a mile in their shoes. Thank you all and you all deserve a Bravo Zulu which in Navy terminology means job well done.

The food is nutritious but lacks flavor due to some of the constraints on people's diets, no salt no other ingredients which I totally understand. My biggest pet peeve is the vegetables are always overcooked to the point of being soft which I also understand because most of the elderly people here can't. chew to well or don't have teeth. I just bear with it put my garlic salt and some lemon juice and olive oil which my wife brings me to put on my vegetables.
The administrative staff here are all very professional and take pride in the work they do in helping all the patients both permanent and temporary.

The recreation department does an excellent job in bringing in Talent to perform for the patients and for special occasions such as Veterans Day of which I participated with a number of other Veterans. It was a wonderful affair with music Color Guard and cake afterward.
For me it is amazing to see the care, concern, and love all the staff put into the care of the patients.

I would highly recommend. Chesapeake Future Care Rehabilitation Facility to anyone who wants to have a loved one come here for rehabilitation or if the issue is that severe and if they need round-the-clock care as a permanent residents.

Sincerely, a very pleased patient leaving here walking, climbing stairs and showering by myself Great job future Care, Bravo Zulu!!!!

A wonderful Team !!! True Heroes in every sense of the word.

I usually don't write reviews often, but I definitely will when other people could potentially be affected.

First off, this place is totally deceiving. Don't let the pictures fool you. The bedrooms especially look nothing like they do in real life.

I had a family member who was in the hospital and needed to be sent to a rehabilitation center to get stronger before treatment. Our family agreed this center looked like the best one out of the list we were given because - 1) the reviews were 4 stars while others were 3 and under, and 2) the pictures made this place look comforting and relaxing - the exact place someone who needs rest, quiet, and around the clock care should be.

As soon as we pulled up to the center, my gut told me and one of my other family members this was not going to be the place we had thought. In my first opinion, the staff seemed a bit short answered and annoyed - granted it was after 5:00 in the evening, so they were probably tired, but before that, the front desk had absolutely no idea what patient we were talking about, and they weren't prepared for him in the slightest. We got to his room, and there were no pillows on the bed so he couldn't rest and put his swelled legs and feet up, and the staff wasn't willing to cooperate on giving him his medications on the same schedule he had in the hospital.

We decided to give the first day a break, then things got better the next couple days. He had family with him almost all day and the staff seemed in a better mood. Then this past weekend, it was brought to my attention the patient was LEFT IN THE BATHROOM FOR OVER AN HOUR BY HIMSELF. He buzzed the nurses several times, and even pressed the emergency cord and nobody came. Then I also found out the staff did not give him his medication at the proper time before each meal, so he was back to getting sick. While he was in the hospital he looked like he was getting better, but in this rehab while getting physical therapy 5 times a week, he looks much weaker and more sick. You tell me how that is possible? Oh, and to top it all off, the staff left compression socks on the patient ALL NIGHT LONG. He knew they shouldn't be on all that time, but they left it on him anyway. His knee swelled from having the socks on for so long, then his legs were sore and in pain from that too, He still had an imprint in his legs the next day following that incident. Totally unacceptable!

I tried to give this place the benefit of the doubt, but we are not letting him go back there as a patient. He will stay in the hospital and will not go back to this center ever.

Our mom who is 82 years and suffers with Stage 2 Dementia came to Future Care after being released from the hospital. She had fallen and broke her left hip and had to have surgery. Everyone at Future Care is so so nice, helpful, polite and friendly. They will answer any questions that have with regards to the care your family member will be receiving. Our mom was on Unit 3 and all her nurses and aide just loved her so much. At night, if she was upset, someone would sit with her until she went to sleep, so she felt safe. I would highly recommend Future Care and will use them again in the future if necessary.

I never would have imagined my mom receiving treatment that borders on elderly abuse. I write this review as I sit in the ER for the second time in 30 days. They have continually lied to me about her condition. They were reading from a chart that was 13 days old. She is SEVERELY dehydrated and the incision from surgery for a broken femure is infected. Because they did not turn her as needed she has sores and some are infected. I know they don't love her but I expected them to at least do their job. I have never had to entrust my mom into someone elses care and I trusted them. I'm seeking legal counsel and most definitely will be notifying Medicare as most of their patients are referred by them.

I've been at FutureCare Chesapeake for roughly 2 weeks. I really love Tina, who I believe is an aide. She is very nice, friendly and helpful, and she gives me my medicine when I need it. She really does so much for me without me asking. Rob, the rehab trainer, has been very encouraging. He s always very positive which is what you need when you're working on reaching physical goals. I actually brought my mother here a few years back when she was hurt. I insisted she came here, because I live close by, and it's worked out well for me too. I would absolutely recommend fc to anyone that I know.
