Parking is a problem but patients are informed about this in advance of their appointments. They advise using park and ride but it depends what time your appointment is. The care I have received is outstanding and they too saved my leg.

Awful!!! Lying, surly unhelpful staff. Even gave my mum black burnt toast! Transfer back to Banbury had to be sorted out mostly by my brother as they tell you one thing then change their minds. I pity anyone who ends up there.
The building is easy enough to find your way around and the cafe is nice (although coffee isn't as nice as when Costa were there) but there's usually a shortage of seating. So many staff don't know what they're doing - communication between staff is diabolical and there is also a level of arrogance, especially from the Sister in my ward. The nurse assigned to me didn't have a clue at all about anything so I had to stay in there 24 hours longer than I should have. I was only allowed to go home because I complained so much. Another nurse gave me Ibuprofen even though I hadn't eaten for 9 hours and didn't have anything with me. Appointments keep being rescheduled and sometimes it's only a couple of days before that I find out the x-ray isn't actually in Bristol anymore and I do actually have to visit Oxford.
Went there today just got there on time as traffic bad.. Couldn't find a parking space.. Drove round and round and round.. Parked in drop off to ask what I am suppose to do.. Advised to go to department where appointment was to be told we were too late and wouldn't be seen .. Drove home three hours wasted... X
Major redevelopment to the site from the 1990s when we first attendend appointments for corective surgery and phisiotherapy the old Buildings have almost all gone to be replaced by perpose built Buildings with all services in one place instead of being trollyed or wheelchaired to the diffarent deptments scatered around the site.
This is not a child friendly hospital for people visiting members of there family in here, the nurses can be very rude, visiting is 10 till 10 but you will be constantly disturbed car parking is a nightmare on weekdays, and from our experience there is very long delays with surgeries with little to no explanation im only glad ive not been a patient in this hospital only a visitor
Well my hip op replacement went well. And at the moment 15 days after things seem to be going ok. 15th December. The problem ofcourse now it is Christmas and l can't get a district nurse to look at my wound. But the hospital was very good.
Had a four day stay in Ward F. Very friendly and professional staff team who treated patients as individuals no matter how busy they were they took the time to listen. Special thank you to Andreia and Patricia who are a credit to the nursing profession. Thank you.
Excellent, top class facility... Caring staff. Only loses a star due to Parking problems. I have a blue badge and there is limited disabled parking. Unless you get there before 9.30 you have to drove around endlessly waiting for someone to leave.
I met Surgeon Andreas Naparus on Saturday 7th November 2020 along with his wonderful team of nurses. Surgeon Naparus ..performed a minor operation on my head which took two hours and thro all this I was treated with the greatest respect from everyone plus kindness, and consideration during the ordeal. I am recovering well at home, but would like to say a big big thank you to. Surgeon Andreas Naparus and Staff. Andal T Grovindan, Beena Soy, S, S,havmila. At the age of 87 it was my very first operation or a hospital visit, how good is that??. And another achievement this is my very first encounter with modern technology. Cheers! Mrs Eileen Hoskin.
Staff were amazing but sadly until we move away on our reliance on pharmaceutical drugs and its investment rather than healthcare model, nothing is going to improve and we are just going to get sicker. All the drugs my son was prescribed contained lactose to which he is intolerant. We didn't realise this 'til he had a reaction even though we checked the ingredients we were told most drugs have it as it damages the stomach without it - this isn't healthcare.
Can't fault this hospital at all. They saved my leg and the check up's afterwards are awesome. Caring kind passionate Dr's and Nurses, plus other staff (receptionists, X-ray, places to eat, shop) everyone is amazing and I'd recommend this hospital to anyone xxxx
INTERNATIONALLY REKNOWNED???? FOR THEIR DISDAIN OF PATIENTS AND ARROGANCE MAYBE. I have never in all of my years met with more incompetence and arrogence than when my wife was referred to this place. We wait months for them to contact my wife to schedule an appointment and hear nothing. My wife contacted her surgery only to be told that Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre are above the dictates of the NHS and run their own appointment book so we would have to wait. So we wait. Friday I get a phone call from someone that was only barely able to speak understandable English. I eventually managed to grasp that she was calling from Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre to remind my wife about her appointment. I said that we have never heard about any appointment and was told "Well you have now" I insisted that she call my wife at home to discuss it. When I got home there was a message on the phone again reminding about the appointment. When I called today I was told essentially that I would take whatever appointment was offered and if I didn't like it I could talk to PALS. I was then transfered to PALS. JUST WHO DO THEY THINK THEY ARE?????????
The staff are universally great, very friendly and attentive, constant flow of cuppa's. The centre seems well maintained and clean. The surgical team did a top notch job. If it wasn't for the one downside this place would completely deserve 5 stars. The downside then... The parking is horrific even by hospital parking standards, small car park with nowhere near sufficient spaces. You can literally see a few dozen stressed drivers roaming, hunting for a space. If you actually do manage to park you then better pray you have the correct change, and it must be change, since the cash machine and change machine in the hospital main entrance are for decoration only and will not actually serve to issue or change cash. Oh and for your wallets sake don't park on the poorly maintained crab grass as you'll get a ticket. You'd think with the profit margin on the car park (which is significant) they'd want to gouge as many patients as possible but I suspect they've worked out a deal with local garages to get a percentage of fuel ups.
Help me threw my leg operation, ie got a bit worried and scared at what my leg would look like after having a external fixator fitted. Calmed my nerves by knowing l could ask the doctors anything about the operation.
I cannot speak highly enough of the excellent care, consideration and professionalism of every member of staff that I have encountered at this hospital. It is a very calm, comfortable place to be and we should all appreciate how lucky we are to have the Nuffield in our midst.
This place is like our second home, can't fault it. The consultants are great, the nurses are great and the building is modern and beautiful. Parking space can be a problem though if you do not have early morning appointment.
Had a spinal MRI scan and took 6 weeks to get a response, after chasing them several times by phone - and on each occasion they say they will phone you back ....only they don't! And then to be told you need to see your GP to get some Physio More
Brought a friend to attend a so called 'assessment' at this hospital by a senior??? physiotherapist when they had been referred directly to a specialist surgeon by a professor in another part of the OUH group and their own GP. This assessor? had my friend in tears, questioned the competency of my friend's GP and the professor. They were only interested in the sound of their own voice and pushing their own agenda. This experience has left my friend in a distressed state for several days afterwards. So much for so-called physiotherapy professionals, to boot there was also an hour delay!! As for a rating, the only one I can think of does not exist in reality (- i an imaginary negative number in mathematics).
Amazing hospital. Was referred here in 2010 after my first consultant couldn't do anymore to help. The team at the NOC provided first rate care. I have recently been referred back for further surgery and again the care so far has been excellent.
Just had a lypoma removed. Fantastic care, the staff are at the top of there game. The NHS really is a special thing that we as a country are lucky to have. Thanks to my surgeon Miss Lucy Cogswell and her team who have done a fantastic job.
Very impressed with the service I received yesterday at Nuffield Hospital when I went for an x-ray. I arrived a bit early and was in and out before my appointment time. Staff were friendly and the areas I saw were very clean.
Great clean and modern facilities, dedicated and excellent specialists, nursing and ancillary staff. Everyone should be proud of this hospital, the NHS at it's best.
Only gripe is the large but still overly busy and crowded car park, but you can't have everything!
The communication and misinformation here is particularly bad. A family member had an operation here, and was supposed to be transferred to another hospital to carry on their treatment. Ringing a bed manager at the hospital where they were being transferred to, only to be told, they'd never heard of them, and were not on any of the lists! Delay after delay, and excuse after excuse, truly awful!
Had a right hip replacement today. All the staff - nurses, surgeon (even though I didn't see much of him!), Doctors and general staff have been brilliant. Nearly midnight now and really not feeling bad at all. Hopefully on my feet tomorrow. Thank you everyone and thank you NHS
On the 11th of November 2015,Mr Whitwell and his team removed a chrondroid carcinoma from my right pelvic bone.. This was major surgery made all the more complicated for the medical team as I refused blood on religious grounds being a Jehovahs Witness.
Having been made aware that surgery without blood would could result in a further 20% chance of table death. I agreed for surgery..
I am pleased to say that although I lost three and a half litres of blood during surgery, the skill of ( Mr Whitwell ) and his team with the support of all the ward nursing staff, physiotherapists, Macmillan nurses, technicians at X Ray and M.R.I departments, and Orthotics , has made my journey of the last 11 months since surgery a complete success, with mobility able with the use of one cane
I am so grateful to Mr Whitwell, his team, and Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre who now regularly check on my progress every four months..
