Very tasty and fun food selections. During live music nights, seating is very limited and only one bathroom for all. Its supposed to be a very hipster scene. Not very organized on the inside. My chicken was slightly over cooked. Very nice staff. And prices are a bit high for waffles.

They say they have Gluten free dairy free choices. Turn out they dont know what that is and does not have anything Gluten free or dairy free.. False advertising at its finest . Try hiring people who knows the menu and diets!

Tried the Jive Turkey for lunch. Delicious. Owner was very friendly and staff is personal and helpful. Place is getting a little warn but that is part of "diner" atmosphere. Try the black China tea. Best cup I've ever had and that includes China proper.

Cold waffles, terrible band, overpriced. Only redeeming part was the blackman outside yelling at a disabled man with no legs

Loved it here! The waffles we selected were original and great tasting. Plus our labradoodle was able to join us. We stopped on our way home from vacation and needed to find a place that would allow our puppy to join us. An amazing ending to the week!

Overpriced and order did not include everything as promised in the menu. Maple syrup tasted watered down. Disappointing.

Coffee machine was broken and latte was undrinkable. Home Fries were cold and not very good. Service was apathetic. Waffles were decent.

I just wish that they had 2 for $5 beer/well mix-drink's.
So even "poor people" can enjoy a nite out more frequently. The art work done by Brett is beautiful, and I advise a purchase for any decor. His price'$ are very inexpensively priced..

Wide selection of waffle choices. Made fresh with fresh fruits! Coffee was ok. They could use some additional staffing. It was a popular place but lacked staff to support it.

The chicken and waffles was dynamite, but the coffee was so strong that it actually gave me a pretty bad case gastritis for 5 days. Never experienced this before in my life and, I have to say, it was horrible.

So yeah go for the chicken, skip the coffee at all costs.

Went at 11:30 am. The atmosphere tastes like bar. It must be a great bar! But for brunch the atmosphere is off putting

Very disappointed. First time here. Espresso not their thing! Stick to regular coffee. Make sure you order everything at one time. Long wait for food. If you forget one item, you are at the end of the line. Jive turkey very salty. Sorry that I tipped them ahead of time. You are expected to place your order at the counter, wait for your buzzer to go off, pick up your food at front counter, and then bus your own table . Came here because on DDD. Not sure if I would want to give it a second chance.

Awesome venue spot with a convenient parking garage close by! Excellent sound for performers and a good bar staff.

Strawberry waffles are great, but overpriced. Crowded sometimes. Can be a nice scene.

Visited Syracuse for the weekend and decided to come here of brunch. Long lines on a Saturday morning, but worth the wait. Very unique menu. Hope to come back one day!

Came here for lunch on a snowy day with my co worker. We had waffles with wings and tenders. The chicken was amazing. The waffles were yummy, but I wished they were cooked a tad more, to be golden brown. The special sauce riddled with cinnamon was a surprising treat, and complimented both the chicken and waffles. It was our first of many visits to come.

Food is always great, and if there is a live band when you come you can still hear it even if you are not at the concert.

I'll have to go again and try something else. Great concept but not as good as I was expecting. Waffle was was a little chewy and somewhat bland for my liking.

Best chicken and waffles. Love the wings and sauce. Waffles are amazing. The fries and sandwich not so much. Cleanliness was non existent. The tables tacky, floor littered and slick. Bathrooms almost disgusting. I wanted to love this place but. If you go stick to waffles and get it to go.

Stopped in here accidentally, and ended up seeing a really great band. We will definitely return if we're in Syracuse.

I encountered this spot for food, music and drinks late one night after catching a show in Homer. We got back to our hotel and didnt have many options for a place to grab a night cap. That limited selection was the best thing that happened to us.

Not only did they have great drinks and a friendly staff, they had live music too. It wasn't just any live music. It was Five Disc Changer. The Syracuse areas best 90's cover band.

We danced the rest of the night away and had some of the most delicious chicken and waffles to fill our bellies.

Would be a 5 star rating if Jim wasn't with us.

The waffles were amazing fluffy full of flavor never had anything like it definitely me and my daughter's new spot.

An excellent little venue. Plenty of seating, some good shows, and great food! The beer selection seemed a little lacking but I couldn't get a drink anyway since we were there too early on a Sunday to drink (damn you New York Blue Laws!) Not sure if they start serving at 10 or 1030 but I work nights and was too tired to stick around and find out. Maybe next time and maybe it'll earn them that fifth star.....

The chicken and waffles that comes out of here is freaking amazing. I do recommend giving them a try when you came.

Why bother to order ? They only give you half of what you order, and then argue with you that you didn't order what you ordered! Go early or late, avoid the rush or you will be sorry!! They don't know how to handle a rush!!

Such a cool place! The waffle I had was delicious. The workers were so nice. They have a bar and live music!

The brownie batter waffles were burnt to the point that they were barely edible.

We had the traditional chicken and waffles and it was awesome. The sauce for the chicken is both spicy, sweet and delicious. My family ended up ordering a bunch of different items and everyone was impressed. Online ordering was fast and easy from my phone, pretty easy place to grab an great meal in Syracuse.

Fantastic selection of waffles and breakfast foods, not to mention the best caramel or vanilla lattes I've ever had. Cool, chill vibes here and very laid back and helpful staff.

Great venue with chill vibe. There is music every night, dead night on Monday! They have recently updated their menu with more selections than just waffles. Their waffle fries and James brownie dessert are great, but the chicken and waffles are my go to, served with a hot sauce/maple syrup combo that is to die for! I definitely recommend coming for a show though!

Would prefer the one on SU Hill. The live music is good but be prepared to deal with a long waiting line to order food, plastic silverware since dishes aren't cleaned, blenders running frequently throughout the artists performances and freezing temperatures while the door man takes his smoke breaks.

Best resturant ever! Sweet or savory waffles so you can have breakfast and dinner here. Order from the menu selections or build your own. If maple syrup is a must (I can't eat waffles without it) you can order a serving for $1. Be prepared for long lines of you come during peak times. Live music at night. Casual, your order ar counter and then puck up your food when it's ready. Nothing fancy here, it's a college vibe.

This place was great. It was very busy but food came out fast and it was delicious.

I've read a lot about this place and looked forward to eating there. The music is great and the people are very friendly. The service was a bit slow and my Jive Turkey was ok at best. They put almost no Turkey on it and it was paper thin ( not kidding at all). The gravy reminded me of the gravy they put on your middle school turkey lunch (not a good thing). It really tasted like it came out of a can. I will say the other 2 people I ate with really liked their meal, so I guess I just went wrong ordering the Jive Turkey.

Horrible service at the bar... It will take a long time to forget the bad experience...

Only negative thing I can say (kept me from giving 5 stars) is that they need to better at getting the orders out. We waited for almost 90 minutes for our food (Saturday afternoon) and my wife's was cold - but we were NOT waiting for a new one.

Featured on Diners Drive inns and Dives this Cuse staple is legendary! The chicken parm waffles, Dino BBQ waffles and all fried chicken are out of this world! The atmosphere is funk music with a stage and full bar. The staff is polite and helpful, If your looking for something new and world famous this spot is sure to impress any crowd!! Irish coffee milk shakes are a must as well!!

The food was delicious. The bathrooms had no toilet paper in them. The parking was limited so we paid to park across the street.

Vegan options are great! Best non egg sandwich ever!

I've been here twice now, and wasn't dissapointed at all. The food is AMAZING and the place is pretty cool. Live music most days if not every. The food definitely fills you up if you get the full waffle. Savory waffles were very good too. Will be visiting again in the future!!

Terrible service ... terrible food.
Burnt chicken. Soggy waffles. I gave the chicken back to the guy at the counter I said this is black....He looked at me like I was an alien ....took the chichen and never came back ..never replaced the chicken or my money. ... never again

I always enjoyed going to Funk 'n Waffles. They have lots of menu choices for waffles, from breakfast through dinner until dessert. Good live music. About average food prices for downtown Syracuse.
