Excellent museum with a large collection of paintings by great artists from different eras. Depending on the date of the visit you can see the temporary gallery that in my case was about Rembrandt.

Great museum! Guides in a variety of languages, many interesting pieces of art, and a layout that makes your visit easy. Depending on your art preference you could be here for hours or just 45 minutes. The guide is also very well detailed and clearly lays out the design of the museum. The best art museum in Madrid!

It's a huge museum (I didn't get to the top floor), during one day of the week the museums in Madrid have a free day (search Google and see which days are free, it's worth saving). This museum has works of Salvador Dali not very famous and other famous painters, with not so popular works, the subway is very close. At the exit of the Museum there is a shop, but with very high prices. In the city center you find the same souvenirs for less than half the price. It is very quiet walking in the region (Madrid is a very safe city, very suitable for a woman traveling alone)

One of the most important pictorial collections in Madrid. In it we find pictures from all eras and a multitude of great masters. I would highlight its large collection of portraits, throughout its numerous rooms (more than 40) one can see the evolution of the portrait throughout history. You have to visit it with patience because you will spend several hours on it. There is also the Baroness collection and there are usually temporary collections

The building that houses the museum is very well organized. The variety of exhibited artists was much appreciated. The local bar (very modern) in the courtyard is also appreciated. There are also beautiful temporary exhibitions inside the 2 palaces at the Retiro park.

Beautiful museum created from a private collection in 1992, it spans medieval Italian art all the way to modern late 20th century pieces. The history of art is not particularly well narrated, so best to come with a guidebook or some prior knowledge.

One of loveliest collections anywhere, amazing range, something for everyone! Go go go! And nicely laid out in restful galleries, not TOO many people, enough benches for my weary back. I always discover, or rediscover, something special when I go. And on my most recent trip it was free to get in!

This small museum is a MUST for artists and art lovers. The work is brilliant - the best collection 19th and 20th century art I have ever seen, including three little-known Van Gogh's, and an esteemed Lucien Freud. The collector's taste puts our NYC curators to shame. You'll gain 15 pounds from all the eye candy!

it would be worth a trip just to visit this collection. as common mortals collect travel souvenirs this very rich family has a fantastic series of paintings from all ages from the Middle Ages to contemporary art. Honor to Spain for donating the building where you can exhibit these masterpieces and of course to the family so that everyone can enjoy them. I don't know where to start because they are unique pieces. my favorites Raffaello, Hopper, Andrea della Robbia, Picasso. I was amazed for the whole visit. check the website for the free opening days, guaranteed thanks to the sponsors.

The samples are very good and it depends on the taste of the visitor. I found the information on the self-guide very brief. The salmon color of the walls competes with the works on display. There is no natural light and the environment becomes monotonous.

This museum is a part of Madrid s golden triangle of art and for the reason. It displays vast collection from different periods and different meridians (Italian, Dutch, Spanish, North American, British artist). Impressive collection, it would be nice to have one like that. Definitely. The audio guide is useful and it wasn t crowded when we visited it - so we had 2 and a half enjoyable hours.

I loved it. I did not expect so many paintings or so many styles. And I certainly did not expect to find the portrait of Henry VIII. Make a hole and I spent a morning or an afternoon to visit him

Very nice collection of art, chronologically (and very orderly!) presented -
Western art from Italian primitivism to the 20th century. I really enjoyed the big variation and it was somewhat digestible in a single visit.

An excellent Museum, one of the 03 that visit in Madrid. It has works from antiquity to modernity ..... if they have an opportunity ask for a guided tour, it is worth it for the diversity of works.

The two permanent collections, extraordinary. They complement each other very well. The building, the Moneo Project to adapt the building, very good. The natural lighting conditions are great.

A comfortable and neat museum to see. It has a wardrobe and a shop.
In this museum there are some works, perhaps less named but truly impressive. Whether you are interested in art or not, this museum is a must see.

Fundación Colección Thyssen-Bornemisza: A Museum of Art and Culture

The Fundación Colección Thyssen-Bornemisza is a museum located in Madrid, Spain. It is one of the most important art museums in the world, with a collection that spans from the 13th century to contemporary art. The museum was founded by Baron Hans Heinrich Thyssen-Bornemisza and his wife Carmen Cervera in 1988.

One of the highlights of the museum's collection is its impressive display of Impressionist paintings. The museum has an extensive collection of works by artists such as Claude Monet, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Edgar Degas, and Vincent van Gogh.

In addition to its permanent collection, the Fundación Colección Thyssen-Bornemisza also hosts temporary exhibitions throughout the year. These exhibitions showcase works from other museums around the world or focus on specific themes or artists.
