What a great museum it has in Madrid with the Thissen-Borzemisa.
A large collection of art works that houses a wide variety of pictorial styles from more classical or avant-garde.
On Mondays from 12 a.m. to 4 p.m., you have the possibility to visit the collection permanently for free. The temporary exhibition that you touch at that moment will be closed, but only in the free schedule.

After the Reina Sofia museum we decided to go to Thyssen, what to say, it was beautiful because there was the exhibition of Monet and Bodin so seeing this exhibition was wonderful. All beautiful also because spending 10 euros is very little to see REAL ART! From Picasso to Van Gogh to Ghirlandaio, in short, you can not go to Madrid and do not enter this super recommended museum.

Galery is wonderfull.
In the vicinity of the Thyssen Gallery (Atocha), on March 8, young people gather to feel their strength and shout their demands. Today they said "woman is the subject"

Very spacious, wide range of genres, excellent translations into English on all exhibits.
However, closing at 4pm on a Monday isn't good and locking up half the toilets 15 minutes before closing isn't helpful.

One of the museums located on the Paseo del Arte. It has a classic permanent collection and temporary exhibitions that are usually very interesting. The Museum is adapted to the measures of the new normality and in the new opening it has more moderate prices. It also has a store with very original products both for oneself and to make a special gift.

It is a wonderfully selected collection, which covers virtually all schools and trends. It is a great donation that is complemented by Monday, from 12:00 to 16:00, the visit of the permanent exhibition is free, which was a pleasant surprise.

Very beautiful and varied. If you want to visit the temporary exhibition you have to take into account the schedules because you can not always enter whenever you want (depending on the day and the exhibition)

The museum has a spectacular collection, but the exhibition has a very large weak point that does not allow an integral experience of approaching art: it has absolutely NO explanation of what you are seeing, nor explanatory cedulas by picture nor room or identity cards. movement. Many pictures, 0% learning, and that is very important.

I suppose they do it so that you buy the audio guide and if it is, it would be fatal, because in the end they subordinate access to culture to economic capacity.

I went to the temporary exhibition "Soroya and fashion". Where portraits that the painter made between the years 1890 and 1920 are exhibited, along with the costumes, dresses and accessories worn by the characters who posed (or, failing that, similar to that time).

An art collection that has become a museum ... Ancient and modern art of the highest quality with very famous pieces of all kinds ... It is possible to have a snack because to see the museum you need the whole morning and certainly part of the afternoon ... The queue at the entrance is limited so you can avoid booking ...

Premise, the museum is free only on Mondays, from 12:00 to 16:00.

On other days, it is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00 to 19:00 and the cost of the ticket is 12.00 euros (other further exhibitions excluded).

Calmly you can visit it in less than 2 hours, as it is smaller than the Prado Museum and the Reina Sofia Museum.

Therefore, it is much smoother and the main works are all exhibited on one plane.
Unmissable.

It was great for me to be indifferent to the Renaissance. I love Monet, and I fell in love with Monet's roese around house! It was just a change from winter to spring, so it was warm and enjoyable! A must-see for those who like Impressionism! Recommended

A worthwhile museum, neighbor of the meadow. Do not underestimate it has a complete collection and that is in chronological order I found it very interesting. I think I was 6 hours to go through it (very quiet pace).

Caution! Pickpockets work near the museum. Like everywhere in such places. Do not lose your vigilance!

Of the museums that I have been able to see in Madrid, I thought it was the best, both for the large number and high quality of the works, as well as for the spaciousness and lighting of the rooms. It is a pity that some of the guards in the rooms are too small for an "attitude" and they turn out to be an unpleasant treatment. Otherwise a visit totally recommendable.

Great choice for viewing art in Madrid. I enjoyed the variety of the pieces held by the museum: while the Prado focuses primarily on Spanish art, with some Italian and Flemish bits thrown in, this museum has a broad collection that even includes British, American, and Russian artists, as well as well-known figures from movements like Impressionism and Realism that are largely missing at the Prado.

The fixed exposure is very good, but what I love are the temporary ones. Highly recommended is the FREE Louis Vuitton exhibition, well explained by La Maison staff and you can see unique pieces.

Absolutely nothing is written under the paintings. The app would be nice, but the wifi connection does not work, and there is no quick reference to works of art. The descriptions in the app are only Spanish.

Fundación Colección Thyssen-Bornemisza: A Museum of Art and Culture

The Fundación Colección Thyssen-Bornemisza is a museum located in Madrid, Spain. It is one of the most important art museums in the world, with a collection that spans from the 13th century to contemporary art. The museum was founded by Baron Hans Heinrich Thyssen-Bornemisza and his wife Carmen Cervera in 1988.

The museum's collection includes over 1,000 works of art, including paintings, sculptures, and decorative arts. The collection is divided into seven different sections: Early Italian Painting; German Renaissance and Baroque Painting; Dutch Painting; Flemish Painting; English Painting; French Painting; and American Art.

One of the highlights of the museum's collection is its impressive display of Impressionist paintings. The museum has an extensive collection of works by artists such as Claude Monet, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Edgar Degas, and Vincent van Gogh.

In addition to its permanent collection, the Fundación Colección Thyssen-Bornemisza also hosts temporary exhibitions throughout the year. These exhibitions showcase works from other museums around the world or focus on specific themes or artists.

The Fundación Colección Thyssen-Bornemisza is located on Paseo del Prado in Madrid. This area is known as "Paseo del Arte" because it houses three major museums: El Museo Nacional del Prado (the National Museum), El Centro de Arte Reina Sofía (the Reina Sofia Art Center), and El Museo Nacional Thyssen-Bornemisza (the National Museum).
